0:03 My connection with Centric Care and
0:05 Physicians Orthopedics is um I've had
0:08 broke my foot. I've broke my um ankle
0:10 and dislocated and I've dealt with them
0:12 the whole time. Met with Dr. Osborne and
0:13 they've helped me every single step of
0:14 the way.
0:16 >> Yeah, I had a a bone spur growing on my
0:18 left big toe for a couple years
0:19 throughout college and finally got to
0:21 the point where it was causing a lot of
0:22 pain and a lot of discomfort when I was
0:25 running. So, Dr. Josurn was able to go
0:26 in and remove the bone spur to provide
0:29 more range of motion and less pain.
0:31 >> In high level athletes, there's
0:32 definitely different mindset and you
0:35 have to diagnose a problem early and
0:36 then work with the athlete to come up
0:39 with a treatment plan. And then the real
0:40 hard work begins, especially for them on
0:43 the rehabilitation using the most
0:45 up-to-date rehab protocols uh that are
0:47 used in the NFL and other elite
0:49 organizations to get these players back
0:51 on the field, which is what they really
0:53 want to do. When I first broke my foot
0:55 last August, I was able to get surgery
0:56 within the first two days, which was
0:57 awesome. I was able to get back in the
0:59 field and within about 5 weeks, which
1:01 was super quick. And I was able to
1:03 exceed the timeline of the first place I
1:05 went to, got X-rays, and got diagnosed.
1:06 They told me around 6:00 to 8, and I was
1:08 able to get back in five. I didn't
1:09 really know what to expect, but Dr.
1:11 Osborne did a good job of kind of
1:12 explaining all the information that I
1:14 needed to know. And then as soon as I
1:15 decided I needed the surgery, it was
1:17 about a week to schedule it and then a
1:19 few weeks of recovery where I was had to
1:21 be off my feet. and then slowly I was
1:24 able to run and uh start moving again.
1:26 >> In both these athletes cases, I think it
1:28 really highlights the expertise that our
1:30 group brings here. Uh this is the first
1:32 time that Central Minnesota has had
1:34 orthopedic foot and ankle fellowship
1:37 trained surgeons provide care to the
1:40 community, whether it's elite athletes,
1:42 whether it's the weekend warrior with
1:44 arthritis or the diabetic foot patient
1:47 that needs uh better foot care. That's a
1:50 real benefit that we bring uh with this
1:52 expertise and and what we can do for
1:54 athletes translates down to everybody
1:56 else that that we treat whether it's for
1:58 foot and ankle or the rest of our group
2:01 with other injuries and uh conditions.
2:02 >> We only have so many opportunities to
2:04 play here. It's such a short career. You
2:06 only have so many games and so not
2:07 having to miss a ton of stuff was great.
2:09 It really means everything honestly.
2:10 >> Yeah. Super thankful that they're able
2:12 to get me back on the field as fast as possible.
