1:37 bazooka plus bazooka tank sounds way

1:44 these on top of a single vehicle is
1:46 mildly ridiculous in the best way
1:48 possible however it only gets worse from
1:49 here because why don't you go and ask me
1:51 how they aim this monstrosity I mean
1:52 look at it it's got six different
1:54 barrels none of them are anywhere near
1:55 each other clearly it's going to be a
1:57 nightmare if not impossible to aim this
2:00 thing accurately right wrong the farmers
2:01 and the grunts got together and said ah
2:03 we'll just use a spotting rifle they
2:05 then proceeded to mount a 50 caliber
2:08 rifle on top of every single bazooka
2:10 barrel and then they would just fire 50
2:12 caliber Tracer rounds until they started
2:14 hitting their desired Target then they
2:16 would fire the Bazooka they're literally
2:18 aiming a giant gun with a slightly
2:20 smaller giant gun I don't even know how
2:22 to begin to write a punch line for that
2:28 I mean could you imagine how
2:30 can confuse me imagine your some
2:31 Anonymous bad guy held up in a house or
2:33 in a building somewhere and this [ __ ]
2:35 monstrosity pulls around the corner as
2:37 your butthole puckers and you realize
2:38 that this is probably going to be the
2:40 longest shortest day of your life and
2:41 your new pronouns are about to be here
2:43 and over there and then this thing aims
2:45 at you fires and it blows a nice little
2:47 hole in the wall next to you as you're
2:50 like I mean it's not good but it's not
2:51 nearly as bad as I thought it was going
2:56 so the farmers finished up the
2:58 prototypes and took it out to Aberdeen
2:59 Proving Ground with the Army and the
3:01 Marine Corps at which point they
3:03 promptly said fire all six at once we
3:04 want to see what will happen and the
3:06 sheer amount of back Blast from that
3:07 knocked bricks out of the wall of the
3:10 bomb shelter they were in and shattered
3:11 all the windows of the vehicles they
3:13 used to get out there and it is at that
3:14 point that the Army said they were no
3:16 longer interested in having this vehicle
3:18 due to the sheer amount of back blast
3:20 and they really really did not like the
3:22 fact that somebody had to get outside of
3:24 the vehicle to individually reload each
3:25 recoilless rifle after they had been
3:27 fired the Marine Corps on the other hand
3:29 said I'll take three hundred the Marine
3:31 Corps ordered 300 of these [ __ ]
3:33 things which is terrifying to think
3:35 about I mean to be honest and it pains
3:37 me to say this but as far as logic goes
3:38 I actually have to side with the Marines
3:40 on this one the Army's over here
3:42 bitching like uh you can get shot at
3:43 while you're trying to reload and the
3:45 Marine Corps is like we've been getting
3:47 [ __ ] shot at since 1775 without a
3:49 bazooka tank imagine how much fun it's
3:50 going to be with a bazooka tank and I
3:52 mean to be fair what the [ __ ] is going
3:53 to be left to shoot at you after you
3:56 shoot the first six gigantic Bazookas
3:57 that general direction and even if
3:59 somebody was still alive and they did
4:01 have big enough balls to pop their head
4:02 up to try to shoot at you while you're
4:04 reloading you still get to shoot at them
4:06 with your spotting 50 caliber [ __ ]
4:09 rifles and the 1919 30 caliber machine
4:11 gun on it like it's just it's a win-win
4:12 and I know what you're all thinking but
4:13 how did it perform in real life and not
4:15 just on the chalkboard thank you so much
4:18 for asking it was first deployed in 1964
4:19 to the Dominican Republic during
4:21 operation power back where it promptly
4:23 destroyed both the tanks that they ran
4:27 across that being the AMX 13 and an l60
4:28 and then after that issue was resolved
4:30 all 300 of them were promptly sent to
4:32 Vietnam okay here's the kicker with that
4:34 there was no established battle Doctrine
4:36 for this weapon there's no rules there's
4:39 no standard operating procedures and
4:41 there was no Marine Corps MOS that was
4:43 designated as being responsible for this
4:46 weapon meaning there's no one guy that's
4:48 like the expert they literally took 300
4:50 of these [ __ ] monstrosities gave them
4:52 to the Marine Corps and said here's your
4:55 bazooka Chariot kids have fun [ __ ] got
4:58 out of a hand you're so dumb if you knew
4:59 anything you'd know that during the
5:00 Vietnam war the Vietcong had virtually
5:03 no tanks meaning that a tank destroyer
5:05 like this would be virtually useless but
5:06 yeah not quite ladies and gentlemen I
5:09 present to you the Beehive round aka the
5:12 fleshette round each one of these had 10
5:14 000 hardened steel darts inside of them
5:16 and when fired they went [ __ ]
5:19 everywhere and this weapons platform can
5:21 fire six of them at a time meaning that
5:23 this thing can turn and proceed to shoot
5:26 60 000 [ __ ] Nails in your general
5:29 direction okay when the trees started
5:30 talking they weren't talking for very
5:32 long the antos was so dominant on the
5:33 battlefield that the anime began
5:35 actively avoiding it meaning that the
5:37 Marine Corps loved it because when this
5:38 thing was anywhere near them they were
5:41 very seldom if ever ambushed and Not
5:42 only was the ontos effective in jungle
5:44 warfare but Urban Warfare as well during
5:46 the Ted offensive at the Battle of whey
5:48 which is one of the only examples of
5:49 heavy Urban combat to happen during the
5:52 Vietnam war the antos would prove
5:53 absolutely dominant Not only was it
5:55 highly effective against fortified enemy
5:57 positions but it was extremely effective
5:59 at convincing enemies to evacuate
6:01 buildings you see at this point in time
6:02 the enemy was already intimately
6:04 acquainted with the antos and knew how
6:06 it operated so all the Marines had to do
6:08 to get an entire building to clear out
6:11 was shoot the 50 caliber spotting rifle
6:12 through the window a couple times and
6:14 all of the enemies would and I quote
6:16 Scurry out of the building like rats
6:18 when you turn the lights on because they
6:20 knew what was going to come next after
6:22 that 50 caliber round unfortunately the
6:25 original 350 antoses would be the only
6:27 ones ever created and after the Vietnam
6:28 War the remaining ones would all be
6:29 turned over to the US Army where they
6:31 would be decommissioned stripped down
6:33 and sold off to construction companies
6:35 as tracked Vehicles luckily however some
6:37 of them did make their way into museums
6:38 where their legacy is still preserved
6:40 today in conclusion in the 1950s a bunch
6:42 of farmers in the United States Marine
6:44 Corps came together to work on a Grunts
6:45 and crafts project and what they created
6:48 was so childish so ridiculous and so
