You've probably heard a lot of claims about AI. It's going to take your job. It's going
to take all the jobs. It's a bubble waiting to burst. It still can't count the Rs in
Strawberry. Still can't draw hands. It's going to literally kill everybody. What on earth is a
reasonable person supposed to make of this? Here's where I'm at. For the last 5 years,
I've been figuring out what I think about all this and how to talk about the risks of AI honestly,
unpretentiously, and without hype. I'm still figuring that out. But one thing I'm sure of,
there is a hugely important conversation happening right now about our future and not enough people
are a part of it. The people building more and more powerful AIs are racing towards something
that could go catastrophically wrong. We all need to understand what's going on with AI,
what the stakes are before critical decisions about our future are made without us. This
is AI in context. Subscribe if you're ready to get up to speed.
