My connection with Centric Care and
Physicians Orthopedics is um I've had
broke my foot. I've broke my um ankle
and dislocated and I've dealt with them
the whole time. Met with Dr. Osborne and
they've helped me every single step of
the way.
>> Yeah, I had a a bone spur growing on my
left big toe for a couple years
throughout college and finally got to
the point where it was causing a lot of
pain and a lot of discomfort when I was
running. So, Dr. Josurn was able to go
in and remove the bone spur to provide
more range of motion and less pain.
>> In high level athletes, there's
definitely different mindset and you
have to diagnose a problem early and
then work with the athlete to come up
with a treatment plan. And then the real
hard work begins, especially for them on
the rehabilitation using the most
up-to-date rehab protocols uh that are
used in the NFL and other elite
organizations to get these players back
on the field, which is what they really
want to do. When I first broke my foot
last August, I was able to get surgery
within the first two days, which was
awesome. I was able to get back in the
field and within about 5 weeks, which
was super quick. And I was able to
exceed the timeline of the first place I
went to, got X-rays, and got diagnosed.
They told me around 6:00 to 8, and I was
able to get back in five. I didn't
really know what to expect, but Dr.
Osborne did a good job of kind of
explaining all the information that I
needed to know. And then as soon as I
decided I needed the surgery, it was
about a week to schedule it and then a
few weeks of recovery where I was had to
be off my feet. and then slowly I was
able to run and uh start moving again.
>> In both these athletes cases, I think it
really highlights the expertise that our
group brings here. Uh this is the first
time that Central Minnesota has had
orthopedic foot and ankle fellowship
trained surgeons provide care to the
community, whether it's elite athletes,
whether it's the weekend warrior with
arthritis or the diabetic foot patient
that needs uh better foot care. That's a
real benefit that we bring uh with this
expertise and and what we can do for
athletes translates down to everybody
else that that we treat whether it's for
foot and ankle or the rest of our group
with other injuries and uh conditions.
>> We only have so many opportunities to
play here. It's such a short career. You
only have so many games and so not
having to miss a ton of stuff was great.
It really means everything honestly.
>> Yeah. Super thankful that they're able
to get me back on the field as fast as possible.
