Introduction

YouTubeToText ("we", "us") provides a marketing website at https://youtubetotext.net and a browser extension listed on the Chrome Web Store. This notice explains what little information is involved.

Summary

• The extension requests YouTube caption endpoints from your browser and displays them in the page UI. It does not upload video URLs, transcripts, or account data to YouTubeToText servers for transcript extraction.
• The website promotes the extension. Standard hosting or CDN logs may exist for security and reliability.
• We do not sell personal information.

Browser extension

When you use the extension on youtube.com:

• It may observe YouTube timedtext/caption network requests and read caption track metadata from the YouTube player in order to fetch and show subtitles.
• Caption text is requested from YouTube endpoints (via the extension service worker) and rendered in the page UI. YouTubeToText does not store those captions on its own servers for the core transcript feature.
• The extension does not require a YouTubeToText account to show transcripts.

Website

The website may be served statically or via a modern web app host. Standard web server or CDN logs (such as IP address, user agent, and requested path) may be collected by the host for security and reliability. If a privacy-oriented analytics tool is enabled, it will be disclosed here.
