What is going on everyone? My name is
Andy. Welcome back to another FPL video.
In this one, it's my team selection for
gameweek 30. So, I'm going to take you
through how the team is looking,
thoughts on captaincy, so Bruno versus
Harland, and thoughts on what transfers
to make, and also why the Chelsea and
Man City Champions League games and
their heavy defeats in the first leg
have slightly changed my approach for
what to do this week. And of course,
I'll show you how I did in gameweek 29.
So, let's get into it. So gameweek 29
ended up being a respectable week in the
end thanks to some incredible bench
jams. So Yoki Manderson who I was
adamant would start if he was in the
squad was on the bench. So he didn't
play any minutes which meant Sessi came
on for an 11p pointer and Harry Wilson
wasn't in the squad either. So Elliot
Anderson came on with his 12pointer. So
one goal defensive contributions and
three bonus points. That is just pure
luck. As simple as that. It's good to
have a decent squad in scenarios like
this, but to still get 23 points off the
bench, that is just some bench jam. Not
much more I can say about that. A lot of
people messaged me saying, "How big was
the green arrow? You like top 100 now?
How good is the rank?" I actually got a
red arrow, 61 points. I dropped to 97th
in the world. So, still top 1k, but it
wasn't enough for a green arrow even
with those 23 points off the bench. So,
thank you to Sessi. Thank you to
Anderson, but more importantly, thank
you to Marco Silva for not putting
Wilson in the squad and not playing
Yokim Manderson. Elsewhere, Rya, who
only gets two or six points, scored
seven, so that was quite nice. Gabrielle
11 points, although his ownership is so
high that doesn't really matter. And
vice captain Fernandez also got me eight
points. Everyone else blanked. So, Van
Dijk one pointer. Munoz obviously went
off injured really early against Spurs
around the 12th minute. That wasn't
ideal. Declan Rice three-pointer in
Burmo one points Harland captain nothing
all that worry about whether it's a
captain Harden or not he does start he
does play the full match and of course
he blanks one double digit hall in like
the last 10 gameweeks he's not been
great whatsoever so a decent week I'm
still pretty well set up for gameweek 30
I also didn't make a transfer in
gameweek 29 so I've now got three let's
talk about how I'm going to use them so
as I've just mentioned three free
transfers this week and 2.1 million in
the bank So, lots of flexibility in
terms of moves that I could make this
week. Defensively, things look okay as
long as one of Munoz or Yoki Manderson
play. So, at the moment, I'm set up with
the back four and Munoz is in my
starting 11, but Yoki Manderson is my
defender on the bench. And I'll come
back onto those two in just a minute.
Elsewhere, things look pretty good. So,
Ryer and Gabrielle double up against
Everton at home. More than happy with
that. Van Djk against Spurs at home.
Spurs just in real trouble at the
moment. I still look at them and think
there's no way they will get relegated,
but they are just playing really badly.
There's a reason they are where they
are. Eagle Trudeau has come in and not
really done anything to make that team
better. I'm just not really sure where
they go from here. So, Van Dijk at home
to them. It's just a pretty good pick.
And obviously, we're at the stage of the
season now where we've got a blank in
31, chips to play, doubles and blanks to
come later on as well. I don't want to
make too many luxury moves. And
obviously Van Dijk's been pretty good to
me recently. So he's definitely staying.
And then Sessi against Bernie away.
That's pretty self-explanatory. Good
chance of a clean sheet. And if not,
he's great for defensive contributions.
The latest on Munoz, who's yellow
flagged from Glasnner is that he won't
be in the squad for their game in Europe
on Thursday, which is not ideal, but he
is working hard to be ready for the
leads game. And Glasnner's quite open
with information. So, I'm hoping on
Friday Glazer says that Munoz is fine
and if he is, I will probably start him.
That might depend on what the result is
in their first leg in Europe. If there's
like a I don't know, let's say they're
2-0 down, then maybe Munos gets rested
against Leads, even if he's available to
make sure they get the win in the second
leg. Something like that. I'll have to
assess once I've seen that match. But
either way, if Minoz is fine, obviously
I want to play him this week and then
I'll decide whether or not to sell him
in gameweek 31. If Minoz isn't
available, then I'm hoping Yoki Anderson
will play. The problem with Yoki
Anderson is unless a journalist asks
Marco Silva what the deal is with him.
There's going to be some uncertainty
there. He didn't start in gameweek 29
and he did start in the FA Cup, but
there were a few changes for that Fulham
team. So, I don't know if he's lost his
place. I don't think he has, but I can't
guarantee it. There is definitely some
doubt there. Lots of fans have told me
that Dop played really well in the last
couple of matches. I just in the back of
my mind, I think it was only three or
four days after gameweek 28. And I just
wonder whether he wasn't quite fully fit
following illness. So, if it's a choice
between risking Anderson or spending a
transfer, I think I'm probably going to
risk Anderson primarily because there's
not many defenders that I would want to
bring in this week like Chiao in
gameweek 31 against Sunderland at home.
Quite like that. But this week he's
playing Chelsea. If I go for Hill,
that's a double up on the Bournemouth
defense and then it's Man United at home
in gameweek 31. That's not ideal. Like
in Burma and Fernandez up against double
Bournemouth defense. Not great. I don't
want to risk a Brenford defender and I
don't want to go Man City for one week
ahead of their blanking 31 and I've got
three Arsenals. I couldn't even triple
up on them if I wanted to. So, it's not
a great week for me to make a defender
transfer. So, what I'm going to be
hoping for is on Friday Glazer says that
Munos is fully fit or someone asked
Marco Silva about Anderson. But either
way, I will probably just risk Anderson
rather than make a transfer. And if I do
have to make one, by the way, I'm not
even sure who I would bring in. I like
my initial like my gut instinct there
when I said that was to say just get
Chiao ready for 31 at least get 11
players out this week. But that just
doesn't feel great against Chelsea away.
So I think I'd probably risk it
probably. Let's see what happens on
Friday's press conferences. So
midfieldwise things look kind of okay
this week. I've got Bruno Fernandez and
Inmo against Aston Villa at home and
then Declan Rice against Everton at home
and Elliot Anderson against Fulham at
home. So, it's not all that exciting.
Rice and Anderson being defensive
contribution players, but they're all at
home and they're all solid picks. So,
I'm not really too concerned about any
of them for gameweek 30. On my bench,
I've got Harry Wilson. Now, at the time
of recording, he's still yellow flagged
and we don't know if he's going to be
available for gameweek 30. My guess is
best case scenario for Wilson is that
he's back in the squad and on the bench.
I find it really hard to believe that
he's going to start. He missed gameweek
29, wasn't in the squad, wasn't in the
squad for their FA Cup game either. I'm
just not convinced he comes back for
that forest game and starts. So, I think
he'd be on the bench at best, but I
don't really want to move him on because
they got Bernie at home in gameweek 31.
So, I will wait and see what Marco Silva
says on Friday. And if there's a chance
Wilson is available for Bernie at home
in 31, I've got to keep him. If Marco
Silva rules him out for 30 and 31, then
I'll probably sell him to either Tavanir
from Bournemouth or Utara or Sharda from
Brenford. So, if Wilson's out for 31,
Marco Silva confirms that, which I think
is unlikely, but let's just say he does,
I will probably sell Wilson. And that
also reduces my headache with Munoz and
Anderson. I would just bench both of
them and play uh play my replacement
midfielder instead. But if there's a
chance Wilson's back for 31, I'm
definitely keeping it because Bernie at
home is a good fixture. The only other
midfielder I'm even thinking about
selling is Rice because he's got a blank
in gameweek 31. But because it's Everton
at home this week, there's no need to
rush that move. So, unless I get Mo
Salah, who I'll come back on to in a
minute, I'm probably not going to sell
Rice. I'll make that decision in
gameweek 31 instead. And right now, my
favorite option to bring in is Anthony
Gordon against Sunderland at home. But I
won't do that. Won't do that until 31
itself. Elliot Anderson just continues
to tick over with points. I'm not really
in a rush to get rid of him. And at the
moment, I don't want to make any luxury
transfers because there's so much going
on with blanks and doubles and stuff
like that. And also, by the way, we've
now had all the Champions League
results. Chelsea have lost 5-2 to PSG
and Man City have lost 3-0 to Real
Madrid in the first legs. Now,
obviously, it's possible they overturn
those results, but it's quite unlikely.
Now, if Chelsea and Man City go out of
Europe, which is looking, like I said,
likely in this round, and then they get
through to the FA Cup semi-finals, their
game in gameweek 34, which would get
postponed, could then just be played in
the midweek instead. Now, I'm not sure
if that would happen, but it wouldn't be
a guarantee that Chelsea and City would
double in 33 if they get to the FA Cup
semi-finals, but they're out of Europe.
So, at this point, making luxury transfers
transfers
doesn't feel great because before the
gameweek 31 deadline, we'll know what's
happening those second leg matches in
the Champions League. So, that's why I'm
even less likely to make a transfer than
normal. So, Elliot Anderson against
Fulham at home is absolutely fine even
if I have to play Yokim Anderson.
Obviously, both of them can get
defensive contributions. In Burma hasn't
been playing that well recently and Man
United in general haven't been good. But
again to sell him before Villa at home
and Bournemouth away is just a luxury
transfer I don't want to make. And also
there's not really another midfielder
that's miles better. Like Tavir is good.
Bernie away Man United at home. Sharder
and Utara if they're fit and available
got Wolves at home leads away. They're
both good but none of those three
players are miles better than in Burmo.
So I might as well just keep him. I
don't see him being on the bench. I
don't see a scenario where it's Kuna,
Shesho, and Ahmad. So, he's going to
continue to start. And my hope is that
Man United will will start playing
better. That's all I can do at this
point. There's just no need to make
those kind of transfers. And then
Fernandez is just a great pick. Even
when Man United aren't playing well, he
gets points. And at the moment, he's my
captain. Now, I'm not sure if that's
going to stick, but I know exactly what
I'm getting from him. A bigger
differential than Harland this week for
captaincy. He's going to play 90
minutes. That might just be enough to go
with him. I'm not making any promises. I
might switch back to Harland, but as it
stands, I'm on Bruno. So, realistically,
unless Wilson's ruled out a 31, I'm
probably not making any midfield
transfers this week, unless I get the
urge to buy Salah. Now, every time I
mention Salah, it's obviously met with a
lot of negativity, and I completely get
it. I'm not trying to justify the pick
really, and I'm not saying that you
should bring him in. It's just a massive
differential play. I know people are
saying he could get dropped. He only
played 60 minutes in the Champions
League. He wasn't great. I do understand
that and I'm not saying it's impossible.
We've already seen it this season, but I
do think he starts against Spurs at
home. I think that's a really good
fixture right now and I quite like him
as a captain option. And to be honest,
the risk the risk in 30 isn't super low,
but the risk as a move over three game
weeks is quite low because I'd be
selling Harland to fund it. He's got
West Ham away then a blank and then
Chelsea away in gameweek 32 compared to
Salad that's got Spurs at home, Brighton
away in 31, then Fulham at home in 32.
So the chance of me getting like
massively screwed over by selling
Harland are quite slim. And if I'm not
captaining Harland anyway this week, is
it such a big deal? Now, if there was no
blank and city weren't playing Chelsea
where I wouldn't even be thinking about
it to be honest, but that's the only
reason I am. But it goes back to what
I've just said. We need to wait for more
European results. Ideally, like if
Crystal Palace on Thursday night
goes, sorry, finish their match in
Europe and they've also got like a two
or three goal deficit, which is less
likely because they will be favorites
for that match. But let's say they're
also two or three goals down. All of a
sudden, you could have Palace and Man
City both going out at this stage of
Europe and then the match in 31 could
just go back into 31. then you've got no
blank for Harland and then no double
game week later on potentially. So I do
really like the Harland Salah move in
theory because you get Salah for the
next three weeks, he plays in 31 and
then either I free hit in 33 to get
Harlem back or I wild card in 32 to get
Harlem back. But because of what's
happening Europe, I just feel like
rolling makes even more sense. So as it
stands, I think I'm not that likely to
buy Salah. But there is something just I
don't know grating on me to just go and
do it. Partly probably because I was
thinking about it last week and I didn't
do it and I would have been up on
points, but also because I just think
it's an okay move. I guess the only
issue is I'd be selling Rice and he's
not bad this week. But he blanks in 31.
So if I sell Harland and Rice with two
free transfers, it does feel quite
luxury because of everything I've
already said. But they're both at the at
the time recording not playing in 31. It
would just be gutting if I use two
transfers. Salah just is rubbish again
and then Harland ends up playing Palace
in 31. So, I'll wait and see what Palace
do tonight and then make a decision. I
think I I think I'm much more likely to
roll than get Salah. But it's there's
something telling me to just do it. But
as it stands, Fernandez captain in
Burma, Rice Anderson. That's my midfield
for I've just got to hope, as I've
already said, one of Munas, Anderson, or
Wilson is able to play because otherwise
I'm down to 10 players. And then up
front, I've got Thiago who's going
absolutely nowhere. Wolves at home this
week, then leads away in the blank.
Absolutely nailed on 90 minutes and
penalties. Everything I want in an FPL
pick. He's just a really good option
both short and medium-term. There's just
no need to sell him to anyone else. Yes,
Ecat is pretty good. Yes, Shia Pedro is
not bad either, but Thiago is not worth
selling for either of them. Harland I've
already spoken about a little bit in
terms of selling him to maybe get Salah
as I've already mentioned. Probably not
going to do that, but it is an option I
want to at least think about a bit more.
I probably won't do it, but it's
something that's constantly playing on
my mind. In terms of captaincy, I said
in the gameweek preview video, if
Harland starts and gets good minutes,
he's the best captain this week, and I
pretty much stand by that. I'm just not
quite sure what to make of his minutes.
So, I think he got about 10 touches in
the game against Real Madrid and got
subbed on 82 minutes. So, it didn't go
that well for him. I don't for one
second, by the way, think that Harland's
going to be taken out of the team,
right? He's still going to be first
choice. He's still going to be in that
11 every single week. But how does Pep
play the West Ham game specifically?
Does he just look at it and say, "Well,
West Ham away is pretty winnable. I'll
make a bunch of changes and just
completely go for it against Real
Madrid." He could do and therefore
Harland could potentially get benched or
if he starts he could get subbed early
like 65 70 minutes if Pep thinks there's
a good chance of overturning that Real
Madrid game. I'm just not sure that's ne
I mean I was going to say I'm not sure
that's what's going to go through his
mind is if I have any idea what a
Premier League manager would be thinking
but surely it comes to the point where
yes you've got to be confident you can
go into any game and win it and Pep's
got to be confident he can overturn that
Real Madrid game but also he's got to be
realistic that's probably gone now.
You're probably not overturning a
threegoal deficit. It's possible of
course, but you're probably not doing
it. But you are still in a title race.
So my prediction is that Harlem will
start. I just don't know how many
minutes he will get. Could he get
another 90 like he did against Forest
last week? Potentially. Could he get
subbed at 7580? Maybe. That's why I
quite like the captain on Fernandez
because I know exactly what I'm getting.
And you could maybe argue that even if
both of them played 90, Harland's not
miles better. He is better, but it's not
by a long way. and Holland's not really
done anything recently anyway. And it's
always nice to go for a bit of a
differential. So, the armband is on
Fernandez, but as always, I reserve the
right to change my mind. So, it might go
back to Harland, but I do I just kind of
like the idea of going against him to be
honest. I think again, you can always
frame these ways however you want to
shape your narrative. Like if it was
like one all between City and Real
Madrid, I'd probably be sat here
thinking, "Well, that's very winnable.
They're gonna want to rest Harlem." But
he might have just played 90 minutes
regardless. Like they are still in a
title race. We have to remember that. So
I don't know. May maybe I'll just get
scared by the deadline and go for
Harland because it's just the easy way
to go because of his ownership. But I do
quite like going for Fernandez. And
although Man United have been bad, Villa
haven't been great either. And United
are at home. So, probably going to
captain Bruno and probably going to roll
a transfer, which is really boring, but
four free transfers going into gameweek
31 is a really nice position to be in.
And obviously, if City and Palace end up
both going out of Europe and then
Harland plays in gameweek 31, then I'd
be pretty glad that I didn't sell him
because although I quite like Salah,
he's not like he's miles better than
Harland. It's not like he's been
performing either. And also that early
sub in the Champions League kind of
spooked me a little bit. So the team
looks really good on paper apart from
the Munoz Wilson yellow flags and
obviously the slight doubts over Yoki
Anderson. But I'm pretty confident one
of those three will get some kind of
minutes this week. So I think because
the other 10 players all look really
good on paper, I almost feel like I've
got to roll.
And as I've said in previous videos, in
previous weeks, I do think where
possible, if you can save transfers up
until you start using your chips, that
is probably the right strategy. Unless
there's a major upgrade you can make,
there's going to be way more interesting
things to do later on. Even if Chelsea
and City go out of Europe and there's
fewer double uh double game weeks in 33,
there will still be some there's still
the possibility of another double in 36,
there's lots to manage. You know,
relegation battles might be over at some
point. Maybe the title race gets
settled. All of a sudden, there's
rotation and stuff like that to think
about differentials as you get towards
the end of the season. There's just more
interesting things to do later on in my
opinion than making a luxury transfer
for a player that looks pretty good this
week. So, I'm probably going to roll. I
did check my AI suggested transfers over
on Hub that wants me to do Guillu to
Calbertt Leuen. I haven't actually
considered that, but Cal Lewin's a
pretty good pick in the short to medium
term, so it's not terrible. And
obviously that would cover Wilson Munoz
and Yokim Manis. I could just play
Calbertt Lewen instead because at the
moment Gu's is third on my bench. But
again, is it best to bring in Cal Lewin
just to cover one of those three
players, Munos, Anderson, Wilson? I
don't think so. Look, being cautious
with my transfers and rolling has done
pretty well this season. It doesn't mean
it'll work well next year, but at the
moment things are going well. I don't
really want to change my approach,
especially when the team looks pretty
good. So, I'm probably going to captain
Fernandez. I'm probably going to roll,
but let's see what the press conferences
bring on Friday. If you've enjoyed that
