This analysis delves into the deeper symbolic meanings within Stranger Things, particularly focusing on Robin's speech about self-acceptance and taking risks, and how it relates to other character dynamics, especially Will and Mike. It also touches upon Vecna's peculiar gift to Holly as a potential foreshadowing element.

Hey guys. So today I wanted to talk
about Robin's speech again, but before I
go into that, I want to talk about
something that I don't see anyone
talking about, and I think it's going to
be very important in volume 2. So in
this season, Vecna gives Holly music. He
could have given her a toy as a present
or something else, but he gave her
music. [music] The very thing that was
used against him in the previous season.
I mean, there has to be a reason for
that, right? I'm really not sure.
Anyway, about Robin's speech. In my
previous video, I briefly went over how
I believed that her speech was mainly
about self-acceptance and how you need
to accept yourself before loving someone
else or being able to get to the place
where you can even confess your love for
that person. Because Robin was too
scared to confess her love to Tammy,
that's why she thinks that nothing ever
became of them. And most likely, Tammy
was straight, but there could have been
a chance and she realizes that and she
regrets not taking the chance. and she
couldn't take the chance because she
didn't accept who she was. She was too
scared. In this speech, I don't think
Robin is telling Will that Mike [music]
is his Tammy. I think she's telling him
to take a risk. Stop being scared and
just do it. The reason why Robin's able
to be with Vicki now is because she
accepted herself and she took a risk.
And I think this speech was supposed to
be telling Will to do the same. And if
anything, Ella's mic's Tammy. [music] We
hear two times now that Robin used to
think Tammy's voice was like Whitney
godamn Houston, which we all know that
it's not. [snorts] But that's how Robin
viewed her. She had her on a pedestal.
She idolized her because Tammy didn't
care [music]
what other people thought. Tammy was
herself, and that's what Robin wanted to
be. Now, with Ellen Mike, all Mike has
done is idolize her. He calls her a
superhero, which El does not like, and
he's only ever really [crying] in awe of
her when she's using her powers, not
because of the person that she is.
>> It was right then and there that I knew
she was the one.
>> I knew right then and there in that
moment that I loved you. Wouldn't it be
strange to parallel two characters that
did get together with your main couple,
but then have parallels with Vicki and
Robin who are a couple and [music] Will
and Mike out of my parents garage and I
found this this this 8 mm film reel, you
know, and it was just from this silly
movie that I made in the fourth grade,
but I got it up on [music] the projector
and all of a sudden I was looking at
this little version of myself and that
little me, I could hardly recognize her,
you know, she was so carefree
and like fearless.
She just loved every part of herself. It
was always just about me.
I had all the answers. [music]
Just needed to stop being so goddamn scared.
scared.
Scared of
who I really was.
Once I did that,
[music] I felt so free. It's like I
could fly, you know, like like I could
finally be rock.
>> Also, I thought this parallel was kind
of funny. And it kind of also parallels
the way Will shoved Mike's chest in
season 4 when they were fighting,
[music] and now he's using it to be
playful. On another note, I've been
seeing people say that Mike looks very
uncomfortable in that scene,
>> but he's literally smirking [music] and
they were flirting right before Will's
shove. So, um, >> what?
>> what?
>> And Vecna likes to control the hive mind
like a puppet master. So maybe when you
tap into the hive, you can pull the
strings, too. [music]
>> Except I'm not Vecna. You sort of are.
You're trying to say that I'm evil and
hellbent on destroying the world.
Totally. No, I'm just [music] saying
that, you know, you're like a wizard
like him
>> in D and D, Mike, not real life. [music]
True. In real life, you're more like a
sorcerer because your powers don't come
from a book of spells. They're innate. [music]
[music]
>> Look in the mirror. Do you see a Navy
Seal looking back at you?
>> Sometimes people need someone to believe
in them
and they can do amazing things. How did
you know that Vicki wanted to make out
to date?
>> Oh, well, we volunteered together. You
know, they were like signals. >> Signals?
>> Signals?
>> Yeah. You know, like a brush of the
knee, a bump of the elbow, a shared look.
look.
It all just kind of occurred, like a
snowball rolling down a hill. And the
first time I watched volume 1, I had
very bad ber [music] doubt. But then I
watched it a second time and for some
reason, I was able to see things that I
didn't see before. like Robin's speech.
I initially took it how everyone else
did, but then I thought a moment and I
was like, well, no,
no. I think the general audience just
takes everything at face value. Again,
this show is more of a show than a tell.
The show's not going to tell us outright
what's going to happen. Most of the time
when they do do that, it is a misdirect.
Like I said in my last video, in season
3, Will says he's not going to fall in
love, and that's exactly what he does.
He falls in love with Mike. And the show
never tells that to us explicitly. It
shows us just like it did with Jonathan
>> I stand outside [music]
hard [singing] on a man.
Now his part [music] is over. [singing]
Now stands across
of the father. [music]
