So let's begin our SEO journey. Well, as
I mentioned that this course is for
freshers to advanced level. So let's try
to learn things right from the scratch.
What exactly is SEO all about? So SEO is
nothing but we'll just begin with the
full form which is search engine
optimization. So now what are the
different types of search engines?
Everybody is aware about Google right?
So you would have done lot of searches
on Google but apart from Google do you
guys know that there are so many other
search engines in the world. So for
example I can name a few. Google is the
primary one that everybody uses in
India. But apart from Google, there's
Bing, there's Yahoo, there's Doug,
there's AOL, Yandex, BU, there are so
many other search engines that are
giving results to your queries. So now
what exactly is SEO? Let's try to find
out. So SEO as the term says, search
engine optimization. So optimizing
things on search engines. So every
website every website which is live so
we need to do some optimization on those
website to get them on top of Google or
you can say on first page of Google
because unless and until you're not able
to get the website on first page of
Google nobody is going to come to your
website. So the traffic the traffic
means when somebody's clicking on your
website and coming to your website
right. So when somebody's entering a
keyword on any search engine, you see
lot of searches appearing there. So
there are so many websites which appear
there and only the websites which are
ranking on top get some traffic and that
traffic is called as organic traffic
because unless and until you don't get
traffic onto your website, how are you
going to generate the revenue, right? So
that's something that we'll be learning
that how to get a websites on top of
search engine. This process is called as
SEO. So let's deep dive into this and
let's try to learn more.
So I welcome to all the future marketing
leaders. Today we are going to take the
first step into the exciting world of
search engine optimization. So I want
you guys to get ready to transform the
way you think uh the way you think you
know the online thing work or the online
visibility with search engines work and
we will kickstart and begin a journey
from googling to getting hired. Well,
this is a properly curated course which
will help you guys to be job ready. So
that when you guys are going out for
jobs in your interviews also, you will
see that these are the things that they
would be asking and this will definitely
help you to crack your interview and get
some good package jobs. So now let's
move to the next slide. So your first
step into the world of SEO guys from
Googling to getting hired. So just a fun
fact here. Did you know every second
over 99,000 searches so this is
typically every second over 99,000
searches happen on Google and that's
quite a lot that's a lot of people
looking for answers products and
services now you guys can just think
about it how many times in a day do you
Google thing or Google something in a
day right so usually I would say that I
google things around five to six times
in a day so just multiply this with the
population of India right within India
itself. You can see a lot of people are
using search engines to find their
answers. Now, let me just show you an
example for uh SEO. So, now let's say
that I went to this website uh went to
the search engine and now I'm searching
for a term which is digital marketing
course. The moment when I search for any
term here, do you see the first thing
that you will see here is AI overview
which is also called as AIO. So you see
you will find some uh quick information
about your term that you're searching
here the search term that you're
searching and after that you will see
some sponsored results coming in. So
wherever you see sponsored like you will
see digifine academy LLP and then the
other sponsored result which is PW
skills and the other one which is
digital training right so these people
have paid to Google so these are called
as paid ads they are paying to Google to
get themsel on top as I earlier
mentioned unless and until your website
is not coming up on top your website is
not going to get any traffic and uh so
people get traffic by the means of paid
ads which is also called as Google ads
or PPC. And now the SEO results you see
Udemy is ranking up on top. So they are
not paying anything to Google. They have
optimized their website in such a way
that when somebody is searching for any
kind of term which is related to their
website or website pages, they are
ranking organically. So when I say
organically, it means it is ranking up
for free. And every business wants to
rank their website on top of search
engines for free. And ranking your
website, the process of ranking your
website on the top of search engine is
called as SEO. And you guys have to rank
it organically. You don't have to pay
anything to Google. You just have to
optimize the website accordingly. So
let's take an example. Now let's say
that you have constructed a house
without taking an taking you know
advisory consulting of any of the
architects right so there are
construction engineers there are
architects and you have not consulted
them while creating or building your
house but now after creating a house you
see that the paint is fading or maybe
there are some leakages in the building
right so you never consulted anyone now
what you do you go ahead and you call a
construction engineer er or an architect
and you explain your issue to them. So
now they look into your house properly
and then they recommend things like okay
so there are the cement is not proper
the housing structure is not good or xyz
reasons right. So after doing that now
you will see that your house is properly
constructed and there are no further
issues. In the same way whenever you are
building website. So guys see you can
build website without uh consulting an
SEO person also but it is the same thing
which is going to happen with the
example of the house which I gave right.
So you constructed a website without
consulting any SEO consultant or SEO
professional. Right? The website is
built but now you are seeing that the
website is not coming or not ranking on
Google and the purpose of building a
website is completely wasted. So now
what you're going to do now you will go
to SEO consultant or SEO professional
and you will ask them to audit your
website and then optimize it for search
engines. Then only your website is going
to rank up on search engines. So the
process of optimizing there are so many
other types that we'll be learning right
from keyword research. So there are
different types of SEO guys. So the
first one uh the first step of SEO is
keyword research and the second one is
onpage SEO. The third one is off-page
SEO and fourth is technical SEO. Apart
from all these types of SEO, we will
also learn about what are the different
tools that is used to do SEO and what
are the different kind of projects that
we can do. So we'll be also discussing
couple of live projects for you guys to
do it into the assignments. So now when
you're searching for any term here, so
digital marketing course you will see
Udemy coming up on top grow with Google
HubSpot Academy. So when you click on
them and when you visit their website,
so what you're doing, you're giving an
organic traffic to that website. So this
process is all about SEO. Now let's try
to learn a bit more deeper into SEO.
All right. So as I mentioned, what is
SEO? It is a science and an art of
getting website to show up on Google
without paying for ads. As I mentioned,
organically for free. It's all about
making your content discoverable. And
when you search on Google, so it's a
question for yourself guys. So whenever
you're searching things on Google,
searching for any search term on Google,
so do you usually click on ads at the
top or organic results below? So you
guys can share your thoughts. So
initially, let's say that if I'm a
student and I'm searching for something
which is digital marketing course and I
definitely want to buy a digital
marketing course, I would definitely
click on something which is sponsored
here. And let's say if I'm just
exploring so I can simply click on Udemy
grow with Google Hubspot Academy or
Corsera all of the results which are
organic results. So depending on the
nature of the person or the nature of
the business the person will click
right. So that's something depends from
person to person. Okay. So uh why SEO is
important guys. So from a business angle
and business perspective I would say
that SEO is very much important and
every business today is doing SEO. So in
case if you guys feel that there are
less SEO opportunities trust me guys
there are so many SEO opportunities
everywhere wherever you see a website
live. So it means that website is being
operated by some SEO professional. So
SEO gives you free traffic. So SEO
brings consistent highquality visitors
to your site without direct advertising
cost. Just imagine this scenario. Let's
say that you are in Mumbai and you're
looking out for a famous biryani in
Mumbai. So now let's say when you go on
streets and when you're asking people,
hey can you please tell me which is the
famous biryani in Mumbai. So now you're
going uh they will be recommending you
some stores like X store, A store, B
store and all. So now you will be going
there. So when you're searching for
things organically, right? So there is a
high chance that you will go to their
website. And when it comes to paid ads,
so when you're forcing people to click
on your website and showing their
results, there is a less chance of
conversion. So when you search for
things and go to a website, there are
high chances of converting. Conversion
means you're taking some action either
subscribing or maybe signing up to a
newsletter or maybe buying or doing
anything, right? So that is called as a
conversion onto the website. And now the
other step I would say SEO is important
for building a brand trust. So when your
website is ranking organically on top of
Google, it means that Google recognizes
your website and they trust your website
a lot. So that's why they're ranking
your website on top. So users often
perceive organic results as more
credible and authoritative than paid
advertisement. So there are so many paid
ads that come. Let's say that when
somebody is building a website, a new
website is built and now they want to
get some urgent traffic. So SEO takes
time. SEO is a slow process because it's
a organic process right so SEO kind
usually takes time but yeah when it
comes to paid ads so the moment your
website is live and you want some urgent
traffic coming in so that's the time you
will use paid ads but you know whenever
you are creating any website the best
strategy I would say is to do SEO plus
paid ads at the same time so which will
help you guys to get some good traffic
coming in to your website and the third
benefit I would say is SEO gives you
long-term ROI So unlike ads that stop
when your budget runs out. So the
biggest problem with paid ads is the
moment when your budget runs out, your
ads ads are going to stop. So with SEO,
it's not like that. So the moment when
you do good SEO on your website, your
website will be on top for a longer
period. So SEO efforts deliver
sustainable returns over time. So even
giants like Amazon, Amazon is a very big
website, right? So, Amazon usually
despite spending billions on ads, they
rely heavily on organic SEO for massive
traffic. So, have you ever clicked on a
product on Amazon directly from Google
search? Everybody has done right. So, everybody
everybody
watching this lecture, I'm sure that you
would have purchased something from
Amazon, Flipkart or Snapde this kind of
website, e-commerce website. So,
whenever you're searching for something,
you're you're seeing this website,
right? And then you're clicking on it.
So, that process is SEO. But as I
mentioned clicking on sponsored ad it is
a paid ads which is a different topic
which is also called as PPC. But yeah
when you're not clicking on something
which is not sponsored so that is called
as organic traffic.
So now why SEO is important from an
career angle guys? So SEO is one of the
most in demand digital skills in today's
job market. So mastering it opens doors
to diverse and exciting career path. So
there are different kind of job roles
that after learning this job ready
course you can apply for. So you can
apply for SEO analyst, content
specialist, digital marketing associate,
SEO executive and you can also get some
freelancing opportunities like to do a
website audit or do a local SEO for
small business content optimization.
Right? And here's a quick question. If
you could rank one business on Google
for free, let's consider a business for
your friend, your mom or maybe any of
your family members, right? So what
business would you like to set up on
Google? So that is called as local SEO
which we will be learning. So now if I
speak about certain um amount or I would
say a salary structure within SEO. So a
fresher usually with a good knowledge
within SEO and if you're able to crack
the interview usually your package will
start from three lakhs peranom in India
on an average three lakhs to four lakhs
peranom in India and after having one or
two years of experience definitely you
can jump to five LPA plus packages
within India. So guys trust me this
skill is very important and the more
digital the world is going it is a need
of getting more and more websites. the
more websites are coming in it means
there are more SEO opportunities growing
in right so now uh let's try to check so
I'll just uh show you guys an example of
a e-commerce uh listing or e-commerce
the way e-commerce functions so now
let's say that I want to buy digital
digital
uh camera
online so now when I'm searching for
this buy digital camera online you will
see these are the sponsored results so
these These are the shopping paid ads
which are coming up and then these are
the SEO results which are coming up and
after that again you will see Amazon
coming up on top, Flipkart coming up on
top, Chroma coming up on top. These are
coming up on top because of SEO. So this
is the power of SEO guys. So these
people are getting free traffic on your
website. So when somebody's searching
and visiting the website, they are
getting free traffic. They're not paying
anything to Google. So not only in
Google but yeah on other search engines
like let's say Bing. So I search for
Bing here.
Right. So when you are Bing is also a
So now let's say you're searching for
right so now let's see what kind of
results are coming in.
All right. So you will see Flipkart
coming in here and then Udemy DSLR
photography course well and then Amazon
DSLR cameras uh baj mall.in right. So
these people are coming up here because
of SEO right so on Bing because I have
not signed in so maybe I'm not able to
see any kind of sponsor results here but
yeah you see these are all organic SEO
results which are coming up on top. Now
let's try to understand a bit more so
that you guys uh get wellversed with the
SEO concept.
Now as I mentioned there are different
types of SEO. So the first one is onpage
SEO and then off-page SEO, then
technical SEO, local SEO and the first
step of SEO is keyword research. Right?
So we will also understand how to do a
keyword research and how to get people
who are searching for things. So now if
you're Google googling u best pizza near
me which type of SEO is most important.
So now whenever you're searching for any
uh location specific keywords like best
pizza near me right so when it comes to
pisa right I would say uh because this
is something which is uh you are
searching within your locality right so
it comes under local SEO so now on page
SEO guys uh we'll try to understand each
and everything using some real world
examples which will give you guys
clarity about the SEO concepts so now
when I say that local SEO So it is all
about searching things locally. It can
be piza coffee shop or maybe bike repair
showroom or anything. So near me kind of
keywords goes into local SEO and on page
SEO. So let's try to understand using an
example here. So I would say guys um
take an example just imagine that you
have got a
fast food center. So let's say your fast
food center name is uh Sadash fast foods
fast food center and my fast food center
deals with all kind of fast foods like
uh let's say masala dosa idli and
Chinese and everything. So all of the
things are available in my fast food
center. So now what exactly is on pages
here? See guys digital marketing is no
rocket science. Whatever activities were
being done before the evolution of
internet into the physical world, the
same activities are being carried online
with some hyphen names and terminologies
and it has been named as digital
marketing. So it is no rocket science
guys. If you are able to connect the
dots properly, you would be able to
understand what exactly is digital
marketing all about. So coming back to
the example, let's say I have got a fast
food corner, Sadashia fast food corner.
And now imagine there's no internet and
now there is a fast food corner and now
you want to drive traffic. Drive traffic
means get customers to your store. How
will you attract people? So now let's
say I'll put a very good name to my
store sadash fast food corner and then a
small tagline there like uh dosa or
maybe get the best dosas in town or get
the best fast food in town or in Mumbai.
So that would be a small tagline that
I'm putting up there. And then maybe to
attract people what I'll do, I'll put
some good images. I'll put some good
offers, discounts. I'll ensure that this
there's good seating, there's good
hygiene, cleanliness. I'm using uh
tissues. I'm using uh the sanitizer and
everything. I have got different uh
seating arrangement done, good painting
and everything. So all of these things
are going to attract people. So when
people are going going uh uh or passing
by my store or let's say there are five
six stores fast food corner but
everybody's seeing that there's some
good offers coming in onto Sadashia fast
food corner so what they will do they
will choose my shop to come and to
purchase the items that I'm selling
right so this is called as onpage SEO so
on page SEO is nothing but whatever
you're implementing on your website or
on your shop it is called as onpage SEO
right so uh like the tagline the name of
your store or the images that you're
using or maybe the offers you're giving
or the content that you're delivering
there right the taste of your website is
actually the content so whatever things
that you're doing on your website is
called as onpage SEO and there are
certain set of rules and regulation that
we have to adhere and we have to follow
uh the good practices while implementing
which we will be learning in the further
classes and now the next is off pages
here. Imagine a scenario now we are
getting some good users coming in onto
our uh um uh shop right so now let's say
so who are coming to our shop after
looking into uh all of the u I would say
all of the uh images or maybe um the
offers that I'm giving so after looking
into them so people are coming to our
website so now on page SEO as just a
small example do you see whenever you're
searching for buy digital camera online
so you Buy cameras online up to 60% off
in India. This is an example of onpage
SEO. You see this image coming in again
on page SEO. You see this description
online shopping for electronics from
great selection and blah blah blah. This
is again onpage SEO. You're seeing this
rating here. This is on page SEO. So
whenever people are searching for
certain search terms on search engines,
so they choose the website on basis of
what exactly is written and shown here.
This is called as onpage SEO. Now the
second is off-page SEO. So off-page SEO
coming back to the example Sadash fast
food corner. If you want to get users to
come to your store, let's say there's
some user who is 10 km away from my
store and they want to come to my uh
come to my fast food corner. How are you
going to bring that user to your uh to
your store or to your shop? So what all
activities you will do? Just think for a
few seconds guys. What are the
activities you will do to bring someone
who is 10 km or 20 km away from your
shop? You want to get them right? So I'm
just taking a pause for 5 seconds so
that you guys can think what exactly you
So what are the thoughts or activities
you can think in your mind? So I would
say guys so whenever you want to get
people who are located away from your
shop or away from your store and you
want to get them to your store you will
do activities like you will put some
banners you will put billboards you'll
put uh um um ads on rickshas or maybe
banners on rickshas or buses or railway
station you'll distribute pamplates
you'll show some ads on newspapers
theaters right so now just imagine when
somebody saw your ad on newspaper and he
was reading a newspaper some 10 km away
and within that newspaper ad you have
published about a newly opened store or
the fast food corner and you have given
some good discount offers coming in
there. So the person reading the
newspaper so they will come from 10 km
away to your shop. All right. So this
activity is nothing but off- page SEO
guys. So off-page SEO is all about doing
the activities away from your website.
Right? So you're doing certain
activities away from your website and
bringing traffic from there. So to give
an online example, let's say when you
are reading a blog, let's say you're
reading a news article on times of India
about Virat Kohl's uh some website or
maybe some newly open shop like 18 or
something. So now when you're read when
we you were reading that article within
that article you will see there would be
a link present of Virat Kohl's website.
at the moment when you click on that
link so from times of India now you are
being redirected to the Virat Kohl's
websites so that is an example of
off-page SEO right so this is all about
off-page SEO guys and after that it is
technical SEO so technical SEO is
nothing but looking into the
technicalities and we have to ensure
that the website is working smoothly and
it is crawable it is fast mobile
friendly for the search engines there
are so many other technical
terminologies that we'll be learning but
yeah this This is just an introduction
for now. So technical things if I have
to take an example. So what are the
technicalities if I if I can consider
within the example of Sadashio fast food
corner. Now let's say I have done good
on page SEO, I've also done good off-
page SEO. Now there are hundreds of
people visiting my store. But the moment
when they are visiting my store, what
exactly is happening? So the customers
are placing their order but the moment
they are placing their order, their
order is taking time. So initially the
order should be delivered within 5 to 10
minutes. Right? So let's say somebody
came to my store and they they've
ordered a masala dosa on my store. Uh
usually the time frame is 5 to 10
minutes but it is taking 15 20 minutes
for them. So it is ruining the
experience of that user. So this is a
part of technical SEO. Another example
let's say now a customer has already had
some dosas and fast food onto my store.
Now they want to make the payment but I
don't have any UPI or maybe QR code
scanner on my website or on my store and
what I'm doing I'm just collecting cash
and the customer doesn't have cash with
them right so it is again ruining or
giving a bad experience to that customer
so having some multiple payment option
on my website will definitely help me to
uh treat my customer in a better way so
this is another example of technical SEO
so in the same thing when you connect
the dots from uh the shop the offline
shop to online shop. Now let's say
ww.sadashevastfoodstore.com sadashev fastfoodstore.com.
fastfoodstore.com.
Now let's say this is my online shop. So
when it comes to online so what kind of
page speed I have. So how quickly my
website is loading is my website visible
to the crawlers. Is my content properly
visible? My images are loading properly.
I do have the certain required files on
my website. Right? So when I do have all
of this technical elements so this
betters my technical SEO. So this is all
about technical SEO which we will be
learning in depth in our further
lectures. Now coming to the next section
which is local SEO. As we already took
an example of best pizza near me or
famous pizza near me, right? So whenever
you're searching for any local terms and
you're looking to buy things right onto
that day or maybe within a week so
you'll be searching for local
terminologies. So optimizing your online
presence on Google maps or you can say
Google business profile. So to attract
local customers often via Google maps or
Google business profile that process is
called as local SEO. So now let's say
that you want to have a haircut. Now you
are into a new location and you don't
know famous shops nearby. What you will
do? You will go on Google and you will
search for best hair cutting salon near
me right and you will see so many
listing coming in. So let's do a quick
uh search here now. Best
salon near me. The moment when I search
for this near me keyword, do you see
this is called as local SEO? So, mirror
studio salon, hair castle, uh heaven the
family salon. So, now this results are
called as local SEO and how to get our
business the local business here. So,
that we will be learning into the
further lectures. So I hope you guys
have got what are the different types of
SEO on page, off-page, technical SEO and
local SEO.
Let's jump into the next slide. So now
we will also try to understand how
search engines work. So you guys can
remember this acronym which is called as
crawling, indexing and ranking. So what
search engines do? The moment when your
website is live on Google or any other
search engine, so there are crawlers. So
crawlers are nothing but you know kind
of a bots which crawl the website and
stores the information within them. So
those are called as crawlers. So
crawlers are also called as spiders. So
they discover the new and updated
websites and web pages and they store
them into their memory which is also
called as skishing. So to understanding
in a better way. So if I ask you guys a
question who is the current prime
minister of India right? So everybody
knows that it is Prime Minister Modi
right? But now if I ask you that who was
the fourth prime minister of India now
maybe you guys will think you guys will
do Google and you guys will take some
seconds of time to answer this question.
So why we were not able to answer the
second question fourth prime minister of
India just because we didn't had that
answer ced into our memory. So cing
means reading or crawling certain
information and storing it into our
brain. So, have you ever wondered? So,
whenever you're searching for anything
on Google, so now let's say I'm
searching for uh let's say uh famous
famous
uh biscuit
in Pune, right? So now I'm searching
this. So when I'm searching for famous
biscuit in Pune, I'm getting this scanny
bakery and so many websites here. So do
you see there are so many websites
coming in here? Now have you ever
wondered how Google is able to show so
many websites in just few seconds? It is
just because of cing. So the moment when
Google when whenever the websites are
live so crawlers crawl the website and
store that information into their brain
into their memory and when somebody's
searching for certain keywords they
don't do live crawling. If you guys take
yourself uh um some 15 20 years back you
know when people used to search on
Google so what usually used to happen
there that time. So when whenever 15 20
years back so if you were searching
anything on Google it used to take 30
minutes to 1 hour to show at least 10
page of result because Google used to do
a live crawling that time. But right now
what Google does is just to enhance the
user experience. The moment when you
search for any keyword Google gives you
results within fractions of second
within few seconds right how it is just
because of the process of cing. So as as
I ask you question who is the first
prime minister of India maybe first
prime minister everybody knows Jawal Neu
and the current prime minister everybody
knows is Mr. Narendra Modi right? So now
how we are able to give this answers
within few seconds because we already
have this information cased into our
memory and brain. But when I ask you
that who was the fourth prime minister
of India or fourth president of India,
we don't know the answer. Why? Because
we don't have that information cased
within us. So to retrive this
information, it will take a bit amount
of time, right? So that's why uh cing is
a certain step within SEO. So the first
step is crawling and cing. You can say
crawling, cing, you can combine it
together. To remember this guys, you can
just think about an acronym which is
CIR. You can just uh remember this cir s
crawling cing and then indexing and then
ranking. Indexing means discovering the
pages that are stored in massive
database creating a searchable index. So
take an example of the Sadashia fast
food store. Now what is indexing? Now
imagine that there is a very famous
person situated into that uh locality
where my store is. So now let's say the
name of that famous person is Google
uncle. So or you can say that Google
baya or maybe Google uncle. So now when
somebody's coming to that that locality
so there are hundreds of shop there but
you guys are unsure that which is the
best fast food. Uh so now you see this
famous person whose name is Google
uncle. So you approach him and you ask
them hey Google uncle can you please
tell me where can I get the best pizza
out of this 100 stores. So now Google
uncle will say that okay go to store
number 25 go to store number 27 and then
go to store number 10 go to store number
53 and so on. So he will rank those
websites. So now you're asking a
question there. So now imagine that you
are the owner of that fast food store.
Now within your fast food you're dealing
with all the fast food like idli medu
vada or maybe masala those are all the
south Indian dishes and maybe vada
samosa or anything all the fast food
stuff but now you don't want to deal
with something which is not fast food
like let's say that you don't want to
deal with pizzas you don't want to deal
with you know chicken biryani or maybe
muscle pow or any kind of other food
that is not fast and you don't want
people who are searching for those uh
keywords to come to your website or come
to your store. Now just imagine that
when somebody is searching for pizza but
your fast food store doesn't sells
pizza, right? If they are coming into
your store and you say that okay so so
sorry sir we are not selling any pizzas
here. So it will ruin the experience of
the user at the first first phase that
particular person shouldn't be coming to
your store because he's looking for
pizza and your store is not uh selling
any kind of pizza. So now indexing means
so now every store has got a menu card
right so you want to you want the
customers who are looking for the items
within your menu card the same menu you
will submit it to that Google uncle
you're giving that menu card to Google
uncle and you're asking that asking them
that hey Google uncle so whenever
somebody is searching for any uh
terminologies or maybe any keywords or
any food items within this menu card
please send send them to my store right
so that process is called as index
indexing. So submitting your menu card
like these are the items available
within my website. So please send these
people only who are searching for this
items, products, services or search
terms. Don't send irrelevant ones. So
indexing is discovering the pages
creating your pages and then submitting
it to Google. So Google will index those
pages and then they will uh show show
those pages to the people who are
searching for the relevant search term.
So they will not show uh irrelevant
search terms or maybe the website to the
irrelevant search terms. And then
ranking. So when a user is searching,
the engine retires the most relevant and
highquality pages from its index. Take
an example of the Sadash fast food store
once again. Now let's say there are 10
stores there into that locality. And now
Google your uh a customer is coming to
that Google uncle and they're asking
that hey can you please tell me which is
the best pizza out of this 10 stores. So
now Google uncle will rank ninth store
and then sixth store fifth store second
store. So now how why did he rank the
ninth store on the top 9 five four and
then uh eight store then seventh store.
What is the process of ranking? How they
ranking right? So there are numerous
things that they consider before ranking
a website on top. So the couple of
things I can tell you that is the
reviews of those website or maybe the
services that they're offering, the
prices, the discount, the onpage SEO
that they have curated, uh the backlinks
that they have got or maybe you know the
speed of their website. So there are
certain things that goes into the back
end before ranking a website on top. So
how relevant your query is to that
website and what are the information
available on that website what are the
reviews ratings speed so many 20 to 50
factors that Google or uh the search
engines consider before ranking a
website on top so this is the process
that we will be learning into this
journey that how to rank a website on top
top
all right so guys you have to remember
if Google hasn't crawled or indexed your
site your uh you cannot rank your site
cannot rank so unless and until Let's
say that when somebody's setting up a
new store into that locality. Let's say
that you are setting up a new store with
name of XYZ fast food corner but you
have not submitted your site to Google
and Google has not crawled or indexed
your website. He won't be able to uh
bring in traffic or send traffic to your
website or to your store. So we have to
remember that whenever we are creating a
new website we have to ensure that the
crawlers are coming in and crawling and
we are also submitting an index. How to
do that? we we will be learning them in
the further lectures. So SEO versus paid
ads guys. SEO as I mentioned it gives
you free traffic. It has got a long-term
strategy and takes time to show results.
And paid ads which is also called as
PPC. It gives you instant traffic. It
cost money and the moment when your
budget is over your traffic is also
gone. And as it mentioned stops when
budget stops. So analogy is like that
SEO is planting a tree. a very slow
growth, strong and long-lasting and ads
are like buying fruits from the market.
So this is a very quick example for you
guys to understand. So now whenever
you're planting a tree, right, you have
to nurture that tree, you have to water
them every day, you have to take care of
good sunlight and everything, right? So
the moment when that tree is now
developed or grown properly, so you will
see it is strong, it is long-lasting and
it is giving you good benefits. So SEO
is just like planting a tree and paid ad
is just like buying groceries or maybe
vegetable and fruits from the market and
the moment your budget is done, you
won't be able to buy anymore. So just
one quick interactive question. If you
had a new bakery and 10,000 budget, so
would you spend it on SEO or ad first
and why? So guys, just think before I
answer this question. Let's say that I
have a new bakery and I have got 10,000
rupees budget with me. Would I be
spending that budget on SEO or paid ads?
So here it completely depends on the
goal or objective of your business. If
you have started a new bakery and you
want some instant customers or quick
customers to come, so I would say that
you should be going ahead with paid ads.
But yeah, if you're growing slowly, so I
would say that you should choose SEO to
All right guys, so now uh here's a quick
activity as I mentioned in the beginning
of the course that at the end of every
lecture there will be certain set of
assignments or activities that you guys
have to do and after the completion of
uh the assignment you have to submit it
in order to get your certification. So
now let's see that how search engines
adapt to different needs and you guys
can grab your phone or laptop and just
try to do this. So I want you guys to
search for things. So side by side while
you're watching this video, you can also
search for things. Now the search number
one, best laptops under 50,000. Search
two is SEO jobs for freshers. And search
three is restaurants near me. All right.
So when you're trying to search for
laptops under 50,000. So the search
intent here is commercial intent because
the user is trying to investigate about
a certain laptops which are under 50,000
and they would be buying the laptop as
per their choice after doing the
filteration and all and the moment when
you search for something which is let's
say what is SEO. So now here you see the
intent is informationational the user is
trying to find some answers or get some
more information. Do you see this EI
overview thing coming up here? So this
is information intent and you will see
all the blogs coming up here. Right?
Because blogs provide information. And
now speaking about the other search
term. So let's say if I'm trying to
search for some local SEO keyword, let's
say coffee shops near me.
The moment when you search for coffee
shops near me, you will see Google map
listing. This is called as Google
business profile listing also. So this
is local SEO and uh let's check one
quick transactional intent. Let's say
iPhone 16 Pro 256 GB
black color. So when I'm searching for
this term so you see I'm seeing product
listing here. So this is not category.
These are exact products that Google is
showing up on top. Right? So when you
visit there so you'll just see one
product there. So we will learn more in
detail about each keyword intent and
type at the uh in our second lecture.
Right? So guys this was all about
today's lecture about the introduction
to SEO. And here's a very quick activity
that you guys can do. So the activity
goes like this. So all you need to do is
you have to get five search terms for
each intent. I want you guys to do this
assignment. get me fiveformational
searches, five uh transactional
searches, five navigational searches,
five local SEO searches, and five uh um
commercial intent searches. Right? So,
this would be your assignment. And uh
here's a very quick recap and I'm 100%
sure most of you guys would be able to
solve this. So, everybody knows by the
end of this lecture what does SEO
exactly stands for and which type of SEO
helps you rank on Google maps? The
answer is local SEO. And I'm sure that
you guys know about this. And the
difference between crawling and
indexing. Crawling is the first step of
search engines. And indexing is just
submitting a map or you can say a menu
card to Google. And then which is faster
SEO or paid ads? The answer you guys
know SEO grows slowly but gives a very
good uh longlasting results but paid ads
is faster. Right guys? So this would be
all for day one lecture. I hope you
enjoyed the session and I'll see you
guys in the day two lecture with some
more keyword research types and how to
do a keyword research. Thank you guys.
