0:04 I came out of an abusive marriage. I had
0:06 gotten married really, really young. We
0:08 had three kids together. Through my
0:11 divorce process, I saw a lot that was
0:13 missing within the system. And I
0:16 thought, I think I can do this better.
0:19 My only problem is I had three kids
0:21 under the age of six and all I had was a
0:23 high school diploma. So, what are you
0:25 going to do? I decided at that point,
0:26 I'm going to go back to school and I'm
0:28 going to become an attorney and I'm
0:30 going to change how divorce is done. I'm
0:32 Heather Okconor. I own Okconor Finley
0:34 Law. We have offices throughout
0:36 Massachusetts. I became a Cleo customer
0:40 in 2017. What this firm fights for is
0:42 the underdog. It's the person who has
0:44 been being taken advantage of, who
0:47 doesn't have a voice and really needs
0:49 somebody to stand up for them. And with
0:52 lawyers, sometimes there's a lack of
0:55 empathy and understanding.
0:57 For us, client service is everything. We
0:59 have our empowerment coach who works
1:02 with everybody to help them start
1:05 building their postlitigation life
1:07 before they've even gotten there. And
1:09 so, we don't charge anything for it
1:11 because the way that I see it, a legal
1:14 result only gives you a piece of paper.
1:16 The coaching is what changes your life.
1:18 When a client has gone through our
1:20 empowerment coaching program, one of the
1:23 things that is so incredible to watch is
1:26 actually seeing them after and how they
1:28 have actually empowered themselves where
1:30 they now have a voice. And I think it's
1:33 been such a huge crucial part of our
1:36 success and our growth because we're
1:39 always looking at if I were as a client,
1:41 what would I want? If I were in those
1:43 shoes, how would I want to be treated?
1:45 Before I decided to become an attorney,
1:47 I had no money. And there were times
1:50 that I was literally eating the crust
1:51 from my children's peanut butter and
1:54 jelly sandwiches. And to be able to know
1:57 that I came from that of times having to
2:00 use food stamps to where we are now
2:03 where our payroll is over a million
2:05 dollars a year. That is something to me
2:09 that if I can do this, anybody can do this.
2:11 this. [Music]
