0:02 Hello everyone. We are so excited to
0:04 finally have a chance to talk to you
0:05 about Vendetta.
0:08 >> So, so excited. We've seen the hype for
0:09 her in the community ever since her
0:11 first tea launched in the game back in
0:13 season 16. And we know she won't disappoint.
0:14 disappoint.
0:16 >> For those who haven't yet seen hero
0:17 trailer, here's what you need to know.
0:19 Vendetta is the daughter of Antonio
0:21 Bartalotti, an infamous arms dealer and
0:22 former leader of Talon who was
0:25 assassinated by Blackw Watch. After his
0:26 death, Vendetta was pushed out of Talon
0:28 and denied the council seat she was set
0:30 to inherit. With nothing left but the
0:32 flame of her ambition, Vendetta became a
0:34 combatant in Rome's Coliseo. There she
0:37 fought as Laupa de la Torion or the wolf
0:39 of retribution and earned the title of
0:41 Coloso champion. At the same time she
0:43 played the political game, gaining power
0:44 and influence as she became a key player
0:46 in Europe's social elite. Now a decade
0:48 after she lost everything, Vendetta is
0:50 back with a vengeance. She's cunning,
0:52 ruthless, and here not just to reclaim
0:54 her birthright, but build her own
0:56 unforgettable empire. Vendetta is not
0:58 just here to change the world, but the
1:00 game, too. She's our first full melee
1:04 DPS. Tormium hammer doesn't count. And a
1:06 real threat to your backline. If you
1:07 didn't get a chance to play her
1:09 explosive gameplay over the trial
1:11 weekend, you're in for a real treat.
1:13 She's fast and powerful and has a
1:17 really, really, really big sword that
1:18 makes fatal combos that can change the
1:20 tide of battle in an instant. When
1:22 working on a new hero, one of the things
1:25 we carry throughout development is what
1:27 makes this hero who they are? What makes
1:28 them stand out from the rest of the
1:30 cast, which we call the hero fantasy.
1:33 Part of Vendetta's hero fantasy, or I
1:35 guess villain fantasy in this case, is
1:37 that she's a modern-day gladiator with a
1:39 unique weapon, a strong fighter that
1:40 likes to aggressively get up close and
1:42 personal in an unconventional way.
1:44 >> Vendetta's primary fire is the same
1:46 iconic hardlight great sword she uses to
1:48 strike down her enemies in the coliseo,
1:50 the Palutina Fang. This sword holds an
1:52 immense amount of power that is
1:54 unleashed in the heat of battle. Her
1:56 attacks are relentless. She starts with
1:58 a set of two swings back and forth,
1:59 finishing the quick combo with an
2:01 overhead slash that deals critical
2:03 damage. That last hit is trickier to
2:05 land with its narrower width, but it has
2:07 an extended range to make up for it. Her
2:09 secondary ability, warding stance, is
2:12 resource-based, similar to spike guard.
2:13 You can either use that resource
2:15 defensively to reduce incoming damage
2:16 and deflect melee attacks, or
2:18 offensively by firing a wide blade
2:21 projectile. Those projectiles are a
2:22 great way to ramp up her passive
2:24 ability, Onslaught. With Onslaught,
2:25 Vendetta's attack and movement speed
2:27 will increase as she lands consecutive
2:30 hits. And speaking of speed, Vendetta is
2:32 highly mobile. With her whirlwind dash,
2:34 she rushes forward into a circular
2:35 slash, which is great for hitting
2:38 grouped up enemies or chasing down low
2:40 health targets to secure a kill. And for
2:42 a melee DPS, she can spend a good amount
2:44 of time up in the air, too. With her
2:46 next ability, soaring slice, Vendetta
2:48 hurls her blade and propels herself
2:50 forward. You can use it to get out of a
2:52 tough spot. But soaring slice also
2:53 readies that critical overhead swing, so
2:56 it's a great offensive maneuver, too. If
2:58 you hear that sword buzz above you, you
3:00 know you're a second away from an enemy
3:02 vendetta slamming down to the ground
3:04 with a powerful slice. The team wanted
3:06 to make her fighting and combos feel
3:08 seamless, as if she was in an actual
3:10 Colos match. and striking enemies in
3:12 that elegant but deadly way she's known
3:15 for. Transitioning into and across her
3:17 abilities was of huge importance for us.
3:19 It shouldn't feel like isolated actions
3:21 one after another, but as if she swings
3:23 her blade on the ground in one moment
3:25 and then the next she's flying in the
3:27 air ready to slice straight down.
3:30 Combos, combos, combos all around. And
3:32 that all comes together for her ultimate
3:34 thundering blade. In the Coloso,
3:35 Vendetta knows how to command an
3:38 audience. The team captured her flare
3:39 for drama with killer animations and
3:41 effects, an unforgettable alt line, and
3:42 a devastating amount of piercing damage
3:44 that cleaves through her enemy's
3:46 defenses, ignoring all damage reduction.
3:48 As if that wasn't scary enough, the alt
3:51 has three stages you can charge up to,
3:52 each one doubling the damage of the one
3:55 before it. Vendetta SK is swift, fluid,
3:58 and ruthless, and we can't wait to see
3:59 the combos you'll all pull off when she launches.
4:00 launches.
4:02 >> Absolutely. We want you to feel
4:03 dangerous when you play as her and
4:05 inhabit the immense strength and fury
4:07 that burns within Vendetta. All that
4:09 perfectly reflects her narrative, which
4:10 is a dark tale of retribution and an
4:12 ambitious quest for power. Her
4:14 conviction and story are designed to
4:15 help move Overwatch forward in the most
4:18 violent way possible, shephering us into
4:20 something new and exciting.
4:22 >> We can't wait for you all to experience
4:24 Vendetta's fury for yourself. Until then,
4:25 then,
4:27 >> ready yourselves for war.
4:29 It being December, we're excited to
4:30 bring the gift of winter wonderland back
4:33 to Overwatch. This year, alongside our
4:35 usual winter modes, we'll also include a
4:37 special winter themed Mischiev Magic and
4:40 the new Mischiev Magic Wonderland taking
4:42 place on the snowy streets of Kings Row.
4:44 One team will hide his props on the map
4:46 while the other seeks them out, but this
4:47 year also brings a new twisted version
4:49 to the mode. The props will be able to
4:51 go on the offensive in Misive Magic
4:52 Wonderland. Throughout this year's
4:53 winter wonderland, you'll have the
4:55 chance to earn loot boxes and special
4:57 holiday themed cosmetics. In the spirit
4:58 of the holidays, you can also earn
5:00 special cookies upon completing winter
5:02 and daily challenges. Cookies can then
5:04 be gifted to our three winter spirits
5:06 for special rewards. Beyond winter
5:08 wonderland, the systems design team has
5:09 been working on something really cool
5:11 for those of you seeking glory in
5:13 Overwatch. We're introducing a big
5:15 update to our top 500 leaderboards, now
5:17 known as the challengers tier. We want
5:19 top 500 to feel like a seasonl long race
5:20 between the very best. So tear down your
5:23 tents. Ladder camping is dead. Wins now
5:25 award challenger score based on your
5:26 rank and the leaderboard itself will be
5:28 ordered by score. Approved challenger
5:30 tier players will be able to link to
5:32 their social channels. We'll be starting
5:34 small with this aspect of the feature in
5:35 season 20, but expect to see us
5:37 expanding to more players in future
5:39 seasons. Also, invitations to esports
5:41 events on Face It can now be part of the
5:43 rewards you receive alongside your
5:45 titles and weapon charms. So dominating
5:46 the ladder can help you get noticed by
5:48 the world's best teams. This feature
5:50 arrives for Stadium with the launch of
5:51 season 20, meaning that Stadium players
5:53 will be able to get all of the core
5:55 games top 500 benefits for the first
5:57 time. And lastly, while I work on
5:58 events, I have to take a few moments to
6:01 rave about the season 20 mythic skins.
6:02 When the season launches, the new hero
6:04 skin is going to Cassi, the divine desperado,
6:11 while Arisa's weapon is being charged up
6:19 And at mid-season, we're releasing Magma
6:21 Titan: Doomfist.
6:22 >> Speaking of Doomfist, we're ready to
6:24 slam down some big stadium updates for
6:27 season 20. First up, this season brings
6:29 pain from above as Doomfist joins the
6:32 ranks. I'm not going to waste any time.
6:35 I know what you've all came for. Are you
6:39 ready? Rising Uppercut is back. I hope
6:41 you all remember your combos. Doomfist
6:44 is about to be even more disruptive.
6:45 Though, if burst damage and aerial
6:47 tricks are more your style, maybe you
6:50 should go for the seismic slam wham,
6:51 which deals more damage the longer
6:54 you're in the air. And did I say
6:57 doomfest? More like heel fest with a
6:58 support build that grants healing and
7:01 overhealth to your teammates.
7:02 But if you're looking for an actual
7:04 support this season, then Wuyang is here
7:07 to wash those worries away. Power up
7:10 your guardian wave with tidal save,
7:12 storm surge, and eb and flow for more
7:14 heals and watery tricks.
7:16 Prefer to go on the offensive with
7:18 rushing torrent? Then I hope you're
7:20 prepared to slip into your flow state,
7:22 ready your wavelance, and ride the
7:24 undertoe. This season, everyone's
7:27 favorite cowboy is getting reworked. We
7:28 wanted to broaden Cassid's build
7:31 horizons and create new powers and items
7:34 for his crit, fan the hammer, flashbang,
7:37 and alt focus builds. Shoot your enemies
7:39 dead with the new version of Dead Man Walking.
7:41 Walking.
7:43 Or maybe go buck wild on Ban the Hammer
7:45 and lay your enemies low with a full house.
7:47 house.
7:49 On the ability side, magnetic grenade is
7:51 back, giving you even more range to
7:54 disrupt those pesky divers. We've also
7:56 condensed Cassid's high noon powers, so
7:58 it could be that special time all the time.
8:04 To close things off, Stadium will see
8:06 the introduction of an allnew control map.
8:08 map.
8:10 We're also introducing a new gameplay
8:12 update. We've noticed some matches
8:14 snowballing unfairly when one team is
8:16 able to spawn camp the other. To fix
8:18 this, we're deploying anti-spawn camping
8:20 turrets to every stadium map. These
8:22 should provide extra cover and time for
8:24 respawning heroes to make it back to the
8:26 fight. Jump in when season 20 launches
