0:09 2025, you became a husband, you became a
0:12 dad, and you became a Premier League
0:14 champion. So, I know there were some
0:15 really difficult and painful moments
0:18 along the way as well. But do you feel
0:20 like in 2025 life gave you a lot?
0:23 >> Yeah, that's true. As you said, I become
0:27 a husband, become a dad, become um first
0:30 Hungarian to win the Premier League. um
0:33 what actually is really nice. Still had
0:36 couple of things what I would I wanted
0:39 to achieve but I still have time in the future.
0:40 future.
0:41 >> How cool was that? I remember being
0:43 there on the day the Tottenham game.
0:45 First Hungarian to win the Premier
0:47 League, a country with that football
0:50 history to be the first one. What did
0:51 that mean?
0:55 >> It was very nice. Um obviously we had um
0:58 Pushkash who who won almost everything
1:00 as well
1:03 but yeah he played he played in La Liga
1:07 uh most of most of his time. Um
1:11 but yeah in in my mind I still have a
1:14 lot of things to to do um in my football
1:17 career and I would like to achieve them.

1:36 >> So, some point in your 30s, I guess,
1:38 like everyone does. Champions League,
1:41 >> win the Champions League,
1:46 being in the next Euros with Hungary,
1:49 being in the next World Cup with Hungary
1:52 after after we
1:55 don't talk about it. Um,
1:57 >> I mean, how tough was that, by the way?
2:00 >> It was very tough. I never felt more
2:04 sad. I wasn't angry. I was sad. More sad
2:07 than this. Never ever before. >> Really?

2:13 >> So, um I own them
2:18 uh a World Cup. So, World Cup uh getting
2:21 another other kid.
2:23 That's also
2:24 winning the Premier League again.
2:27 >> I will warn you, Dom, two kids is tough. [laughter]

2:32 >> Yeah. And obviously winning as much
2:34 trophies as as you can. Premier League,
2:37 of course, we're gonna go for it every year.

2:42 Um, sometimes maybe good, sometimes
2:46 maybe not. Um, but yeah, that's that's
2:48 the main thing. Um, what what I would
2:50 like to achieve.
2:52 >> Maybe this is a mad question. Are you
2:54 still going for this year's Premier
2:57 League or is it is it just crazy to talk
2:59 about that when the gap's like it is and
3:00 the form's like it is?
3:06 >> It's crazy. Um because if I go back
3:08 last year, I think by February we were
3:11 like 10 points clear. Um
3:13 then in my mind at this time I was
3:15 always saying no we didn't win it yet.
3:18 We didn't win it yet. But inside me it
3:20 was like okay that's the chance that's
3:22 the chance.
3:27 Now uh probably um because we are so
3:30 many points behind we can't think in the
3:33 long term. We have to think game by
3:36 game. Dream dream we can talk about it
3:39 but we have to perform and and and first
3:42 show game by game that we are even able
3:45 to to be in the top four. >> Yeah.
3:45 >> Yeah.
3:48 >> And then if things goes in this way then
3:51 why not? So, in your heart of hearts,
3:53 deep down, do you think you're playing
3:54 the Champions on Thursday, the team that
4:03 >> Oh my god. Is is a is a long wayh is is
4:04 the Premier League is not easy. You
4:08 don't win it by by January. So, I don't
4:10 think so. We are playing uh against the
4:12 champions. They play against the
4:14 champions. Um
4:16 and that's probably they know as well.
4:19 We know as well. Of course, they are one
4:21 of the favorites for this year.
4:24 Unbelievable team. Um really good
4:28 players. Um but we shouldn't also forget
4:30 about City, about Villa who is doing
4:35 very good. Um so yeah,
4:37 no, we don't play against the Champions.
4:38 They play against the Champions.
4:41 >> That's a good answer. So if we go back,
4:43 so you're the champion team as you just
4:47 said. You win the league.
4:49 Everyone thinks I think at the time you
4:51 have a great summer in terms of how you
4:53 invest in the squad. Obviously you you
4:55 lose some players as well. Why from that
5:00 point do you think it's been so tough?
5:04 >> It's it happens sometimes. Um I think
5:06 last year when when when the manager
5:10 came in um and with with Jurgen in my
5:12 first two season first season we became
5:15 third. So no one was really thinking
5:17 that we have a little chance to win it
5:18 if I'm honest. Yeah.
5:21 >> And then we started
5:24 very well and then we was like okay we
5:25 are doing good let's keep on going and
5:28 we kept on going all the time. Um and we
5:31 won the league and if you ask anybody
5:33 they would never think we can win the
5:34 league at the beginning of the season.
5:37 So the chances was really small
5:38 uh because there was city there were
5:40 Arsenal always fighting with each other.
5:44 Um but we won it now. Well, we started
5:47 good uh in the first five games. Of
5:49 course, the luck was on on our side
5:51 because I didn't I don't know how many
5:53 times we won it in the extra time, but
5:55 still that showed also that we are ready
5:59 again. Um and then sometimes comes a
6:02 little hit um and you don't react in in
6:04 a way like we should and then comes
6:07 again again. We have seen this last
6:10 season with City. Um
6:12 so that's that's the time when we you
6:16 have to realize okay now our most like
6:19 what we are aiming for um and that's
6:21 what we have to look game by game
6:24 because we cannot look in in long term.
6:26 >> You mentioned City there. Um we see it
6:27 with another couple of clubs now. Look
6:29 what's happening at Man United. Look
6:30 what's happening at Chelsea on the
6:33 inside of a big club when there's
6:35 pressure, when there's scrutiny, when
6:38 maybe results are not going as you want
6:42 them to go. How tough is that?
6:46 It's very tough. Uh very tough. Um it's
6:47 probably different compared to other
6:51 teams. Um but
6:52 that's what you want actually. No,
6:55 that's why you come here. That's why you
6:56 you want to play for the biggest clubs
6:58 in the world. And if you want to play
6:59 for the biggest clubs in the world, then
7:01 you're going to have pressure. Uh even
7:02 if you're winning and even if you're
7:06 losing. So we have to we have to handle
7:10 this. Um everybody um the players, the
7:13 stuff, the everybody.
7:16 >> Biggest thing to fix in your opinion? I
7:17 mean you to be fair, you're n you're
7:19 nine unbeaten, but to get the team
7:22 playing something like the level you
7:24 expect from yourselves.
7:27 Again, if we go back to our to-do list,
7:28 what are the things or what's what's
7:29 number one?
7:33 >> Well, it's not my job to say it. Um, we
7:35 have we have so many people in the club
7:38 to to find solutions and they will also
7:42 find solutions. Um, I'm pretty sure in
7:44 every player I think there is um couple
7:46 of things what they are thinking. Uh,
7:48 but everybody going to keep for himself
7:50 and at the end we're going to speak with
7:53 each other. We're going to speak with as
7:55 a group. Um and then we're going to grow
7:59 as a group because um we are Liverpool.
8:02 So uh right now we are the the champions
8:04 of England. Do you feel like as a team
8:07 you are starting to to heal if that's
8:09 right word? Like I said you are unbeaten
8:12 in nine games. So from the most
8:14 difficult moment there already probably
8:16 has been some progress.
8:19 >> Of course. Uh where we were really deep
8:21 down. So from there on it's actually
8:23 everything is a progress.
8:28 Um but yeah we are we are
8:31 trying to get back there where where we
8:33 belong as well. Um but I don't mean only
8:36 in the position where we are. We would
8:39 like to play same football like we
8:42 played last season. Um and that's what
8:43 we have to we have to think how to
8:45 manage it. Of course the other teams
8:48 knows now saw us last season felt us
8:52 last season. So they will also try to to
8:55 hurt us everywhere they can uh what is
8:58 actually normal. Um but still if you
9:00 want to compete for something then you
9:01 have to find a solution.
9:03 >> I wanted to lastly ask you about Mo
9:04 Salah because I did an interview with
9:07 him at the start of the season. Uh and
9:10 he I think I asked him about one player
9:13 that he feels that he you know wants to
9:15 help and advise and work with and and he
9:17 mentioned you. So, you know, regardless
9:20 of almost of the of all the other stuff
9:22 that's happened with him recently, that
9:23 friendship between you and him, how
9:24 close is it?
9:26 >> I think it's very close. You have to ask
9:26 him as well.
9:28 >> No. Well, that's why one of the reasons
9:29 I raised it like Yeah, he said the same thing.
9:30 thing.
9:34 >> Yeah. I think from day one um he really
9:39 got me under his his wings and tried
9:42 tried to help me um as many things as as
9:45 I asked him or because I was al also
9:49 open-minded um to learn from him and
9:51 then we become every day closer and
9:53 closer and talk about a lot of stuff and
9:58 then trust each other uh even more. So
10:02 yeah, probably I I know I know many
10:04 things about him like maybe no one knows.

10:08 >> Has it made you sad to see him hurting
10:10 over the last few weeks and months?
10:13 >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was not nice to to
10:15 see it, but
10:18 he's professional enough to to handle
10:21 his situation. Uh I never got involved.
10:24 Uh I was there for him. if he wanted to
10:26 talk to someone, I was asking him all
10:29 the time if I can help somehow. I knew I
10:31 couldn't because
10:33 >> he will he will do it for himself, but
10:36 um I was there for him uh every day when
10:42 he needed um whatever. Um but he will he
10:44 will handle this. He has the character.
10:47 He has he has everything to to deal with
10:49 it. But I guess as a as a friend and a
10:51 teammate, you'll hope that there's
10:54 another chapter left in his amazing
10:56 Liverpool career.
10:58 >> Yeah, of course. Everybody hopes that uh
11:01 that he can that he going to come back
11:04 after the the Africa Cup and uh help us
11:07 again the way he did uh he did last
11:10 season. But that's his his decision uh
11:12 and the club's decision. So the players
11:14 is never getting involved. of course as
11:16 a friend, as a teammate. I love to play
11:19 with him. I know what he's able to do.
11:23 He showed us last season with 70 goal
11:26 involvements. So, the best season what
11:29 he had uh in his career, we won the
11:34 league. So, I think he showed enough um
