0:43 Northeastern corner of the veil but when
0:45 we meet him he is master of coin for the
0:48 entire realm with huge personal wealth a
0:50 spy Network business interests and a
0:53 seat on the small Council he also had an
0:55 ongoing secret relationship with Lysa
0:58 Ain the wife of the hand of the king
1:00 when her husband John Arin tries to send
1:03 her son Robert to be fostered elsewhere
1:05 Littlefinger provides the poison that
1:07 she uses to kill him while L's
1:09 motivations here appear to be about
1:11 attachment to her young son and
1:13 obsessive love for Littlefinger
1:15 Littlefinger himself was playing a more complex
1:17 complex
1:19 game the situation in King's Landing at
1:22 the time was getting quite fraught Varys
1:24 was secretly planning a coup I'll do a
1:26 video on his master plan at some point
1:29 too and John Aaron and Stannis were on
1:31 the verge of discovering the truth about
1:33 joffree Mella and tommen's parentage
1:36 added to which Littlefinger had a few
1:38 scores of his own to settle Ned Stark
1:40 for being married to cathlyn the woman
1:43 Peter loved and the tules more broadly
1:45 hosta Tully had forced lyser to abort
1:47 her child with Littlefinger years
1:49 earlier and thrown him out of riverrun
1:52 in disgrace so the first phase of
1:54 littlefinger's plan was to make a little
1:57 chaos while getting some revenge for
2:00 perceived past slights and hopefully use
2:02 that chaos to seize some opportunities
2:04 for his own Advantage at the heart of
2:07 this lies little finger Central modus
2:10 operandi when the realm was in chaos he
2:12 backed himself to make the best of the
2:14 opportunities that would present
2:16 themselves so he often defaults to
2:18 sewing a little lie here and there to
2:22 create that chaos and climb that ladder
2:24 climb the ladder to what though is a
2:27 good question basically it is to more
2:29 power winning the Game of Thrones and
2:31 the personal life he wants which is
2:34 shorthand for having catlyn Stark or
2:36 Tully to himself he was obsessed with
2:39 her basically all the things he didn't
2:42 have as a child although he quickly
2:44 transferred his seedy Obsession to Sansa
2:46 who reminded him of her when she was
2:50 younger so phase one murder John aarin
2:53 and get lyser to tell her sister that
2:55 the Lannister did it frame Tyrion for
2:57 the assassination attempt on bran and
3:00 show Ned the evidence about Jamie I and
3:03 Cersei cat capturing Tyrion was an
3:05 unexpected twist but little finger knew
3:07 that the honorable Ned would have to
3:09 stand up for what was right at which
3:12 point he could betray him and whisper in
3:14 Joffrey's ear the idea that Ned should
3:16 be beheaded before you knew it the
3:18 Lannisters and the Starks were at each
3:21 other's throats the subsequent Civil War
3:23 obviously offered lots of opportunities
3:25 for advancement he led a diplomatic
3:27 mission to highgarden to negotiate an
3:29 alliance between the Lannisters and the
3:31 tyrells who had let's not forget the
3:33 largest army in Westeros and brought
3:35 them back to King's Landing linking up
3:38 with Tywin it was this Army that arrived
3:40 just in time to turn the tide in the
3:43 battle of the Blackwater his reward was
3:46 to be made Lord of Haron Hall and Lord
3:48 Paramount of the Trident the riverlands
3:50 were a complete mess at the time and as
3:52 far as we know little vinger never even
3:54 went to Haron Hall but suddenly he was
3:57 at the high table by right of nobility
3:59 one of the most senior Nobles in the
4:01 realm not just because his ability with
4:03 money earned him a seat on the small
4:06 Council so we have to say that phase one
4:08 of little finger's plan undoubtedly
4:11 worked he had Advanced hugely in social
4:14 standing his rival Ned Stark was dead he
4:16 may have lost cat not that he ever
4:19 really had her of course but Sansa was
4:21 by his side and he had the trust of the
4:23 Lannisters who were in control of King's
4:26 Landing at which point we move on to
4:29 phase two Littlefinger now has the
4:31 social standing to suggest the thing he
4:33 had been denied as a child marriage to
4:36 Lysa Ain she is now available of course
4:39 now her husband is dead it's not that he
4:42 particularly wants to marry her per se
4:44 but it would write a childhood wrong in
4:46 his mind and bring more power being The
4:48 Stepfather of the child lord of the veil
4:51 and husband to the lady Regent brings
4:53 power of its own but what he does want
4:56 now is Sansa he has been obsessed with
4:59 her since he first met her but how to
5:01 get her well he had a few problems to
5:04 overcome first she was married now to
5:06 Tyrion and second she remained an
5:08 important bargaining tool for the
5:09 Lannisters they would never let her
5:11 leave King's Landing while the kingdom
5:14 remained in such turmoil so Peter Bish
5:17 launched a complex plan that again went
5:20 almost exactly to plan it was launching
5:23 chaos once more but knowing exactly what
5:25 he wanted from it Joffrey and margery's
5:27 wedding was at hand and he knew that
5:30 Elena Tyrell the queen of thorns would
5:31 never allow her granddaughter to marry
5:33 someone like Joffrey so he hatched a
5:36 plot with her to assassinate Joffrey on
5:39 his wedding day the purple wedding as it
5:41 became known but first he persuaded
5:44 Tywin to send him to the veil to attempt
5:46 to rule lyser Ain the veil had been
5:48 noticeably absent from the war so far
5:50 and Tywin needed to get them to bend the
5:53 knee and Littlefinger as we've seen has
5:55 shown an apparently unimpeachable track
5:57 record of loyalty to the Lannisters
5:59 betraying the Starks and bringing the
6:03 tyrells on board but Peter doesn't leave
6:06 immediately he only pretends to instead
6:08 he arranges for a troop of dwarves to
6:10 perform at the wedding Feast knowing it
6:12 would annoy Tyrion and force a public
6:14 confrontation with Joffrey who would
6:17 love it meanwhile Elena poisoned Joffrey
6:19 with the poison smuggled in on sansa's
6:23 hairnet this immediately made Tyrion the
6:25 prime suspect for Joffrey's murder
6:27 certainly in cersei's eyes and Sansa was
6:30 implicated too so
6:31 who little finger had been manipulating
6:34 to befriend Sansa hinting at ways to
6:37 escape King's Landing persuaded her to
6:38 come with him to littlefinger's ship
6:40 while everything was still in uproar and
6:43 Littlefinger set sail for the veil with
6:47 Sansa Sedonas was killed Sansa was by
6:49 his side her husband implicated for
6:51 murder and Bish himself had the full
6:54 support of the crown to marry Lia Ain
6:56 who would definitely say yes and claim
7:00 power there that final part of the plan
7:02 happens quickly perhaps even quicker
7:04 than Littlefinger was wanting ler Aaron
7:06 married him and declared him Lord
7:10 protector of the veil de facto ruler so
7:12 let's take stock of where Peter has got
7:15 to at the end of his second phase he is
7:18 now the defecto ruler of the veil and
7:19 Lord Paramount of the riverlands
7:22 indisputably one of the most powerful
7:24 men in the realm and he not only has
7:27 lyser Aaron doting on him but also Sansa
7:30 close at hand and entirely reliant on
7:32 him she is now installed in the veil as
7:35 elain Stone his bastard daughter where
7:39 can he go from here well more power and
7:42 closer to Sansa that's the plan that's
7:43 always the
7:46 plan perhaps at this point he does
7:48 however get a little ahead of himself he
7:51 kisses Sansa and Lysa sees him do it she
7:53 is jealous and tries to throw sansor out
7:55 of the moond door little finger
7:57 intervenes and lyser ends up being
7:59 thrown out of the moond door I have a
8:01 feeling that what transpires here will
8:04 be quite important later on before she
8:06 dies Lysa basically tells Sansa all of
8:08 little finger's lies from the first half
8:10 of book one if she was ever unsure
8:12 whether Peter Bish really had betrayed
8:15 her family she now knows everything and
8:18 surely when she's not in his control and
8:20 is perhaps back in the safety of her
8:23 family she will use that anyway that's
8:25 for the future because although he may
8:28 not have planned it Peter Bish has once
8:30 more got the chaos he so loves he
8:32 manages to frame the murder of lyser
8:36 itself on merilon a Minstrel but is soon
8:38 confronted by six powerful Lords of the
8:40 veil naming themselves the Lords
8:42 declarant who oppose him basically
8:45 assuming full power after L's death
8:47 which brings us to phase three securing
8:50 his hold over the veil it would take a
8:51 whole other video here to go through all
8:53 the intricacies of veil politics that
8:55 Littlefinger is exploiting and at the
8:57 point we are at in the books he's still
8:59 only partway through this process but
9:02 basically he is trying to peel off the
9:05 six Lords declarant one by one he starts
9:07 by getting a loyalist Lynn corber to
9:10 force the Lord's declarant to give him a
9:12 Year's Grace then he buys up the debts
9:14 of house waynewood and persuades lady
9:17 waynewood to match Harry Harding her
9:19 Ward and The Heir Apparent to Robert
9:21 Aaron to Sansa who everyone thinks is
9:25 littlefinger's bastard daughter Bish
9:27 then mutters Darkly about how Lord
9:31 redort is old and near death and Lord
9:33 Hunter May soon be murdered by his own
9:35 brothers so both of them are probably
9:38 not long for this world Lord Nester Roy
9:40 is granted hereditary rights over the
9:43 gates of the Moon seemingly as a bribe
9:44 and gifted some rather Splendid
9:48 tapestries and Lords Belmore and Grafton
9:50 seem to be conspiring with little finger
9:52 to stockpile grain and aggressively
9:55 Target the other part of house Roy Bron
9:59 yon himself surely within the year all
10:01 the Lord's declarant will accept little
10:03 finger's absolute rule with perhaps only
10:06 yon Roy doing so grudgingly another one
10:09 to watch for the future story which
10:11 brings us to what happens in The Winds
10:14 of Winter and a dream of spring well
10:16 little finger does tell Sansa what his
10:18 plan is right at the end of A Feast for
10:20 Crows we obviously shouldn't always take
10:22 him at his word but given his
10:24 infatuation with her there's no reason
10:27 to think that what he tells her is not
10:29 true here even if there are other
10:31 elements he isn't revealing this is what
10:33 he says talking about Harry Harding
10:35 Robert aon's Heir Apparent sanser is
10:39 speaking first Harry is Robert's Heir if
10:43 Robert were to die Peter arched an
10:47 eyebrow when Robert dies our poor Brave
10:50 sweet Robin is such a sickly boy it is
10:53 only a matter of time when Robert dies
10:56 Harry the air becomes Lord Harold
10:58 defender of the veil and Lord of the
11:01 Eerie John aon's Bananaman will never
11:03 love me nor are silly shaking Robert but
11:06 they will love their young Falcon and
11:08 when they come together for his wedding
11:11 and you come out with your long Orban
11:13 hair clad in a maiden's cloak of white
11:15 and gray with a direwolf emblazened on
11:18 the back why every Knight in the veil
11:21 will pledge his sword to win you back
11:25 your Birthright so those are your gifts
11:29 from me my sweet Sansa Harry the Eerie and
11:31 and
11:33 Winterfell sansa's Birthright that
11:35 Littlefinger says every night in the
11:36 veil will pledge themselves to
11:39 recovering is being the lady of
11:41 Winterfell at this moment in time as far
11:44 as everyone is aware Rob was killed at
11:46 the Red Wedding Jon is still a bastard
11:48 son so not in the line of succession
11:51 bran and rickon are both dead killed by
11:54 Theon so it is thought and Aya well Aya
11:56 herself is missing the person everyone
11:59 thinks is Aya is actually Jane P
12:01 Littlefinger married her to Ramsey
12:03 Bolton in the books rather than Sansa so
12:07 the only Stark left standing is Sansa
12:09 little finger is planning on taking the
12:11 Knights of the veil who have stayed out
12:13 of all of the conflicts in this war so
12:16 far to the North to install Sansa as
12:20 lady there personally I can't see Harry
12:22 Harding surviving long past his wedding
12:25 and I can definitely see Littlefinger
12:27 overstepping The Mark with Sansa in a
12:29 way that he will regret when she has
12:31 safe back home and all of the Starks
12:33 everyone thinks are dead suddenly start
12:35 appearing by her side and in powered up
12:38 versions of themselves like bran and Aya
12:40 will be for example but in his mind
12:43 where we currently are at in the story
12:45 phase four of little finger's plan will
12:48 be surely the last claim the veil
12:50 through sansa's marriage to Harry The
12:53 Heir then win the North in sansa's name
12:55 and through her being a Tully and his
12:57 claim as Lord panamount rule over the
13:00 riverlands too that would be three of
13:02 the Seven Kingdoms the north the veil of
13:05 Aaron and the riverlands an astonishing
13:07 rise in just a few short years for a
13:12 very very minor Lord but ultimately I
13:14 suspect that his lies will catch up with
13:16 him Sansa is learning the Game of
13:18 Thrones all the time and she now knows
13:21 so many of his Secrets when she is Lady
13:23 of Winterfell if she becomes Lady of
13:26 Winterfell I expect Jon to be back by
13:28 her side and bran will return from the
13:31 far north and probably even Aya returned
13:33 from braavos in King's Landing and even
13:36 in the veil little finger was in his own
13:38 element He could play one person off
13:40 against another lie to one person to
13:42 provoke a reaction in another but in
13:46 Winterfell as Winter Falls he will be as
13:48 out of his element as Ned Stark was in
13:51 King's Landing little finger Rose to
13:53 power on lies duplicity and double
13:56 crossing his downfall will be brought
14:00 about by truth honesty and and
