0:03 We had 10 people who were arrested and
0:06 they gave each of us $300,000 bail. I'm
0:09 not going to leave everybody in jail. So
0:11 that was $3 million worth of bail that
0:13 we needed to [Music]
0:15 [Music]
0:17 cover. Yo, what up? What up? It's your
0:19 boy Whis Khalifa, man. And right now
0:22 you're watching First with Rap
0:25 TV. First time stepping into the ring.
0:29 Um, I threw up everywhere. Just off of
0:31 like the first maybe one or two rounds,
0:35 I was definitely ready to to barf. Now
0:37 I'm not even getting warmed up till
0:40 about round
0:44 eight. First unusual thing I ever smoked
0:47 from would have to be an apple. I
0:49 learned this apple trick way back in the
0:52 day performing at a lot of colleges and
0:55 being around some crafty kids.
0:57 We we made some really really cool apple
1:02 bongs and it um it benefited me well.
1:04 First time running out of room for a
1:07 tattoo. Uh I haven't inked my whole body
1:09 yet, so we're still on the
1:14 quest. First job I ever had was being a
1:18 rapper. Um I never had a regular job.
1:21 Never clocked in for work a day in my life.
1:22 life.
1:25 First thing my travels have taught me is
1:32 Can you wait?
1:35 Nope. I'm not going into
1:38 it. First person to call me Whiz was my
1:43 father. My original rap name was Wisdom
1:46 Khalifa, but my dad would just call me
1:48 Whiz, and that's where the Whiz Khalifa
1:52 came from. First memory from high school
1:56 was walking into Taylor Alderise, a big
1:59 huge school. It had four floors and I
2:01 was like, "Wow, man. How am I going to
2:03 do this?" I was all by myself. I lived
2:06 in Pittsburgh uh 2 years before, so I
2:09 was there in middle school, but nobody
2:11 remembered me because I was 6'1 now. So,
2:14 I had to reintroduce myself.
2:17 First reason it was time to drop Kush on
2:20 OJ2 was cuz the fans wanted it. If you
2:22 guys want it, I got
2:25 you. First time smoking Khalifa Kush.
2:29 Burner brought it down from the Bay Area
2:31 himself. He was We were sampling all
2:34 different types of bud and this was one
2:35 that he wasn't sure if I was going to
2:38 like or not. And I said, "Hey man, let's
2:41 just try it." and he gave me the bud and
2:42 I fell in love with it and I've been
2:45 smoking it ever since. This was 12 years
2:49 ago and the pack has never changed.
2:51 First time collabing with Gunonna. You
2:53 guys hear the first collab with me and
2:56 Gunonna. It's called FiveStar. We
2:59 recorded it at a studio in North
3:02 Hollywood. I think they called me at
3:04 like 12:30, maybe 1:00 in the morning
3:07 and said, "Gun wants to see you in the
3:09 studio, bro." and I happened to be right
3:12 up the street. So I hopped in my
3:14 Rolls-Royce, went over there, took him a
3:16 jar of weed, like this big. He played me
3:18 some songs from his album. I played him
3:22 the song that I wanted him on. And um
3:24 you guys hear the magic and that's what FiveStar
3:25 FiveStar
3:29 is. First collab with JCole. We might
3:32 have some mashups that's that the
3:35 YouTubers really know about and care
3:37 about. But I think the first official
3:39 collab just recently happened. It's a
3:41 song called Clouds with me and him. The
3:45 Clouds remix came about because JCole
3:47 wanted to sample my laugh and I said,
3:49 "Hey, instead of just sampling a laugh,
3:51 let me do a verse on
3:54 there." First time meeting Mac. Miller
3:57 was at ID Labs
3:59 uh probably about
4:01 2009. I'm pretty sure he was still in
4:04 high school and I was out of high school
4:07 for sure because when I graduated he was
4:09 a freshman. Yeah. Was in the studio. I
4:12 was coming home off of tour and he was
4:14 basically in there doing the same thing
4:16 that that I was doing at his age just
4:19 working and soaking up game and putting
4:22 his homies on. First crazy story from
4:25 tour will probably have to be when we
4:27 got arrested in North Carolina. The way
4:31 that we got out was legendary. We had 10
4:34 people who were arrested and they gave
4:37 each of us $300,000 bail. I'm not going
4:40 to leave everybody in jail. So that was
4:43 $3 million worth of bail that we needed
4:46 to cover. We ended up having a lot of
4:50 money under the bus in cash from merch
4:52 and hard ticket sales and was able to
4:55 bail me and Will out. The lawyer knocked
4:57 the charges down. We were able to bail
4:59 everybody else out with some more of the
5:01 money that we had and we were back on
5:04 the road the next day. First thing most
5:07 people don't know about Pixsburg is how
5:10 much fun it is to hang out and party and
5:14 enjoy a good night out in the Berg. If
5:16 you ever hang out in
5:19 Pittsburgh, you'll have a really really
5:22 amazing time just chilling. It's nothing
5:23 nothing too glamorous. It's a very
5:26 classy city, but it's very hometown
5:29 vibes and you'll you'll feel like a
5:32 family member at the end of the day.
5:34 first time working with Chief Keef was
5:38 on a song called uh I Hate Being Sober.
5:42 It was at a time where I was on my run
5:46 um with the internet and crossing over
5:50 and doing albums like Rolling Papers and
5:52 he was working on his first album. Me
5:55 and 50 shot the video without him, which
5:58 is crazy. But uh it was always good to
6:02 to to be a part of SA's comeup. First
6:04 thing fatherhood taught me the
6:07 importance of time. How you use your
6:12 time is really important. Being a father
6:14 helps me to enjoy
6:16 um you know all of the moments that I
6:19 have, especially with my family. even
6:20 when I'm working and I'm away from my
6:23 family, it helps me value it and respect
6:26 it more and and and want to be there
6:29 when I do have the opportunity. So, I
6:32 learned how important time is by being a
6:34 father. First time working with The
6:36 Weekend. First time working with The
6:39 Weekend was on a song that was on my
6:42 album and I have C. It's called Remember
6:46 You. and he actually sent me the record
6:48 because it was something that he uh
6:52 really was uh inspired to do and um this
6:55 was early stages in his career and this
6:57 was my second album but I have been
7:00 really familiar with him already. So it
7:01 was cool to be able to work with him and
7:03 then tap into that
7:06 original weekend sound that everybody
7:08 loves. First time working with Kendrick.
7:10 I was working with Terrace Martin at the
7:12 time actually. I was transitioning out
7:15 of my my supposed to be album deal with
7:18 Warner and Terrace put a song together
7:20 with me and Kendrick uh when his name
7:23 was still K dot and then we went on to
7:25 go on tour together and just you know
7:27 really break down doors and you know
7:30 open up things for our our
7:32 generation. First time linking with Tai
7:35 dollar sign. We got super stoned. We
7:39 hung out in the studio. We made music.
7:41 We rode up to Humble County. We shot the
7:43 video for Ireie. We've been best friends ever
7:44 ever
7:48 since. First piece of advice I give,
7:50 believe in yourself. There's nothing
7:52 wrong with having confidence. There's
7:53 nothing wrong with being
7:56 delusional. There's nothing wrong with
7:58 seeing things that people don't see. You
8:00 know, have the consistency to to make
8:03 something that's real to you, real life.
8:04 So, believe in yourself, stay
8:07 consistent, and it'll happen. Yo, what
