0:35 working in I can look across just at a
0:37 building not far away and see something
0:40 that looks like a splash of white paint
0:43 down the side and I know from daylight
0:45 observation that about a quarter of that
0:48 building has disappeared that hit by a
0:51 bomb the other night streets fan out in
0:54 all directions from here and down on one
0:56 Street I can see a single red light and
1:00 just faintly the outline of a sign
1:02 standing in the middle of the street and
1:05 again I know what that sign says because
1:08 I saw it this afternoon it says danger
1:13 unexploded bomb off to my left still I
1:16 can see just that red snap of the
1:18 anti-aircraft fire
1:20 I was up here earlier this afternoon and

1:32 stars no one ordered these people to put
1:35 out the flag they simply feel like
1:39 flying a Union Jack above their roots no
1:41 one told them to do it and no flag up
1:44 there was flight I can see one or two of
1:46 them just stirring very faintly in the
1:49 breeze now you may be able to hear the
1:51 sound of guns off in the distance very
1:54 faintly like someone kicking it tougher
1:58 now they're silent for searchlights
2:01 reach up disappear in the light of a 3/4
2:04 moon I should say at the moment there
2:06 are probably three aircraft in the
2:09 general vicinity of London because one
2:11 can tell by the movement of the lights
2:14 and the flash of the anti-aircraft guns
