0:01 so you know think about what's the Holy
0:03 Grail between somebody taking action or
0:07 not it's one word certainty when
0:08 somebody is absolutely certain they you
0:11 know common word is believe right but
0:12 you know you can believe at a general
0:13 level or you can believe with certain
0:14 when you're absolutely certain that if I
0:16 do this it's going to get that result
0:17 and that result is going to change my
0:20 life you'll do it when you think it
0:22 absolutely is not going to work you're
0:24 never going to do it the middle no man's
0:27 land of maybe it'll work maybe it won't
0:29 that's the piece that kills people right
0:31 so if it's a must for you you got to
0:33 make it work right in our case right
0:35 it's an example if it's not a must for
0:37 you and you're not sure you don't know
0:39 what to do so I years ago I look around
0:40 and say okay how do people get
0:41 themselves to follow through that
0:42 haven't been following through what's
0:43 the difference and I started
0:45 interviewing hundreds of people
0:46 literally and eventually thousands
0:47 because I had thousands in my events so
0:49 I'd ask the group to give me their
0:50 feedback and I came up with this model
0:53 it's like the Holy Grail of belief or
0:55 the Holy Grail of momentums like the
0:56 difference between what makes the rich
0:59 get richer and the poor get poor right
1:00 and the difference we all know is
1:01 mindset but like how's that built so
1:03 this is what I did I create these stupid
1:04 little four little boxes and I'll
1:06 scribble it here for you you think about
1:08 the first thing that determines whether
1:10 you can do something or not and I put
1:11 that in this first box at the top here
1:13 on the left side it's potential like
1:15 what's the potential of a human being
1:17 like when you guys started you proved
1:19 something no one had done in history you
1:21 ran the four-minute mile right for Godly
1:22 knows how many centuries they're trying
1:24 to run a 4-minute mile Roger banister
1:27 does it how did he do it do you remember
1:28 you did it in this industry right you
1:30 made a million bucks in a day no one had
1:32 ever done that in history right after
1:34 you did it bunch of other guys are doing
1:36 it in case it became possible Roger
1:37 banister didn't just go physically
1:40 practice he made a shift in his head he
1:41 practiced in his head because he could
1:43 never achieve it physically so he had a
1:45 change in his head first so the result
1:47 became certain enough he believed it and
1:48 then his body got him through after
1:51 Roger bister in that 4minute mile within
1:54 two years 37 people ran a 4minute mile
1:55 when no one in history had ever done it
1:57 now here's how it works the potential
1:59 for anybody getting your product is
2:00 extraordin they could do what you've
2:03 done as much more or less they can do
2:04 whatever they want to do the potential
2:06 is there the Market's proven that
2:08 whether or not they taing a potential
2:09 has a lot to do with what action they
2:10 take which is the question you came to
2:13 me with right like you know God hell's
2:14 potential but they're not taking action
2:16 and we all know that the action they
2:17 take is going to determine the results
2:21 they get that's pretty obvious so most
2:24 people have a belief about what their
2:26 real potential as a matter what you tell
2:28 them and that affects how much action
2:30 they take and of course that affects the
2:32 result and then ironically that result
2:35 reinforces their belief and then that
2:38 belief affects it so give you an example
2:40 let's say a person has unlimited
2:42 potential we all agree but they take
2:45 little action little results why because
2:46 they have to start with a problem with
2:48 their belief they don't believe it's
2:49 really going to happen for me maybe for
2:51 Frank Karn because he got the cool hair
2:53 and stuff or maybe it's for you because
2:55 you're so driven but it's not Me Maybe
2:56 Tony Robins because he's a freak got
2:57 these big teeth whatever their thought
2:59 process is right they got this thing right
3:00 right
3:03 but what happens is if you believe that
3:05 there's very little potential how much
3:08 action you going to take nothing nothing
3:09 little and when you take little
3:10 potential with a little action what kind
3:13 of results do you get lousy little
3:14 results and when you get little results
3:16 what does that due to your belief you go
3:18 see I told you this was a waste of time
3:20 sold you this wouldn't work and then
3:21 what happens you tap even less potential
3:23 you take even less action you even worse
3:25 results and your belief gets even weaker
3:27 and this sucker feeds on itself until
3:29 you are in the downward spiral poisonous
3:31 it's poon and it's self-fulfilling now
3:33 what if something could happen that
3:35 could come along and fill you with a
3:37 sense of absolute certainty not like I
3:40 believe but I mean well you know in you
3:43 guys's case mine as well we knew cuz we
3:45 had to cuz we burned the boats there was
3:47 no other option we had to find the way
3:49 we had we weren't going to live that way
3:50 we all did it in different ways and for
3:51 different reasons but in essence that
3:54 was it if you get yourself in a state of
3:56 certainty that this is going to work I'm
3:57 going to find the way and if this
3:59 doesn't work I will make the way then
4:01 you have a lot more potential and when
4:03 you're certain in your potential you
4:05 take Massive Action when you take
4:06 Massive Action you really believe in
4:08 something you get great results when you
4:10 get great results your brain goes see I
4:12 told you I was a stud I told you this
4:13 thing would work out now you're even
4:15 stronger you tap more potential take
4:16 greater AC greater results that's how
4:19 you went from 300 bucks in a week to 255
4:22 days to a 100,000 in a month to a
4:24 million bucks in a day same thing with
4:26 you and we get momentum why the rich get
4:28 richer and the poor get poorer now some
4:29 people go out and they go well I'm going
4:31 to take a bunch of action all right I'm
4:32 going to open this product I'm going to
4:33 try it and they'll say to you I even did
4:35 it but it's like a Salesman who goes and
4:37 knocks on the door and he knocks on 100
4:39 doors and says you don't want one of
4:41 these do you yeah exactly right and even
4:42 if he doesn't say it verbally his face
4:44 says it because he doesn't believe it's
4:46 going to work so his voice his body the
4:48 execution is so weak maybe if he talks
4:50 to 100 people somebody's going to buy
4:51 out of pity they don't want his kids to
4:53 starve right but he's not going to get
4:55 the result so the core difference in
4:57 people is how do you produce certainty
5:00 when the world isn't giving it to you
5:01 you go out and you try and you try in
5:03 your case your 100,000 in debt nothing's
5:05 working how do you keep yourself going
5:07 the way you did it the way I did it the
5:08 way you're doing it we may not have done
5:10 it consciously is we didn't change our
5:13 potential that was there and it wasn't
5:15 even taking more action taking more
5:16 action with a belief it's not going to
5:18 work it's not going to change anything
5:21 we got results in our head that made us
5:22 feel certain as if it had already
5:24 happened true or false for you true
5:26 right so give me an example so people
5:28 know I'm not just making this crap up
5:30 well I mean just like when I had nothing
5:31 I already knew I was driving like
5:33 Ferraris and Porsches and stuff cuz I
5:35 always wanted those cars I already knew
5:37 I was going to have them it was
5:38 inevitable right I inevitably you know
5:40 that was just my inevitable outcome but
5:41 how did you do that did you have a
5:43 ritual did you think about it regularly
5:44 was it one time you thought about it or
5:46 was it something you had an obsession
5:48 towards I had an obsession towards it I
5:49 mean I used to go I used to work at a
5:51 video store which is the last job I ever
5:53 had in my life thank God and uh I used
5:56 to go to to work almost every day and I
5:58 used to bring two magazines with me to
5:59 read on my breaks on Entrepreneur
6:01 magazine just to read about business and
6:02 everything else to read about what other
6:04 people are doing looking for role models
6:05 and I used to carry an auto trader with
6:08 me and I used to look at Porsches that
6:09 were for sale yeah and people always
6:11 used to ask me what are you doing with
6:13 that auto trader magazine I'm like well
6:14 I'm just picking out the Porsche that
6:16 I'm going to buy right when I'm which
6:18 probably got you a lot of crap I did I
6:20 people made fun of me I actually had a
6:23 boss at that job tell me you know you
6:24 really shouldn't do that to yourself
6:27 John because it's it's very very likely
6:28 that that is never going to happen that
6:30 it's very like that you're never going
6:33 to have that car yeah that's that's the
6:34 kind of belief he was trying to put in
6:36 my head and I was like no you don't
6:39 realize that it's it's inevitable right
6:41 that I will drive here sometime in the
6:43 near future with that car when I'm not
6:45 working for you right and drop movies
6:47 off for you to put back on the shelf and
6:49 that actually happened and it was one of
6:51 the most fulfilling days of my entire
6:52 life and the great thing was when I
6:55 pulled up in this car I was you know I
6:58 was in my mid 20s a car that most mid
6:59 what kind of car was it it it was a
7:01 Porsche 9911 turbo it was a convertible
7:02 and everything just beautiful car it was
7:05 one I yeah when I always dreamed to
7:07 having but you know for a few years I
7:08 always Circle the ads of which ones I
7:10 was going to buy when I finally got it
7:11 and I pulled up at the store you know I
7:13 had all these people some people that
7:15 were still working at this $7 an hour
7:17 job were there years after I left and
7:18 I'll never forget this even the boss and
7:19 stuff and then the reaction of the
7:22 people was like wow that is awesome yeah
7:25 is that your dad's car and all I said to
7:28 them was not exactly good for you and I
7:30 just smiled and just left but it was you
7:33 know I just I it's the weirdest thing
7:35 but I just knew it was going to happen
7:36 but you knew it because you I
7:38 conditioned myself you did it over and
7:40 over again when I was in high school I
7:42 was not a popular kid but I was
7:43 passionate and intense and I'll never
7:45 forget some people give some particular
7:47 girls gave me some crap in a guy tube
7:49 and I wrote in their journals or their
7:50 you know their annual yearbook at the
7:53 end I wrote you know someday I said you
7:55 treated me like hell someday I'll be
7:57 rich and famous and you'll be an effing
7:59 truck driver and you'll be sit there
8:01 I'll be with my rich I'll be with this
8:02 beautiful woman of my life rich and
8:04 you'll be watching me on television
8:05 thinking you wish you would have treated
8:06 me better I actually wrote this in
8:08 people's annels cuz I went to a 10e high
8:11 school reunion when the people showed me
8:13 this stuff right but it's like I burned
8:14 the bridges baby I was like there this
8:16 is how it's going to be so I'll give you
8:18 a perfect example of this you know they
8:20 did studies many been done at this
8:21 element where they want to see how much
8:23 does the Mind affect performance so they
8:24 take basketball and I've worked with a
8:26 lot of NBA players and turn them around
8:28 and one of the problems many of them
8:29 have is they'll choke on the free throw
8:31 on you know well everybody knows in that
8:33 case if you normally shoot really well
8:35 and now you're not something's
8:36 interfering something's getting in front
8:38 of your state some uncertainty right
8:39 obviously so they take a group and say
8:40 we're going to make them better how do
8:42 you make somebody better who has got
8:44 this mental block so they take a group
8:46 of guys and they're going to do free
8:47 throws and they do one group where they
8:49 just practice for six weeks totally
8:51 intense practice and I forget the number
8:52 of free throws but they got to do this
8:54 many free throws every day take a second
8:56 group and they have them not practice at
8:59 all obvious and they take a third third
9:00 group and they don't let them touch a
9:03 basketball all they do is have them
9:05 practice in their mind but the key is
9:07 it's not practice makes perfect it's
9:08 perfect practice makes perfect as corny
9:11 as that sounds so these guys see
9:13 themselves making the shot every single
9:16 time conditioning their mind and body
9:18 that it's perfect every time they're not
9:20 interrupted by a reality that would
9:22 screw with them so at the end of six
9:24 weeks they T it up and now they give him
9:25 a test to see who has the highest free
9:27 throw percentage you know success what
9:29 do you guess it's going to be well you
9:30 obvious person says obviously it's not
9:32 the guys that didn't practice but which
9:34 one is it the mind or is it the ones
9:37 that actually practice I'm assuming the
9:38 mind yeah you would assume it because
9:40 it's true right you intuitively know the
9:42 truth that practicing is not enough it's
9:44 getting yourself so certain so many
9:46 times that now when you go to do it
9:48 there's no hesitancy and you execute
9:50 it's having that absolute certainty that
9:52 makes you tap your full potential take
9:55 Massive Action get massive results be
9:57 reinforced having stronger belief this
9:59 is what makes somebody a star anything
10:01 it's like Jack Nicholas the golfer he
10:03 visualized every shot and where it was
10:05 going Landing right where he wanted it
10:07 before he ever hit it every single time
10:09 and what do most single time they just
10:10 take a practice swing and they kind of
10:12 hope for the best and point in the right
10:14 direction and hit it and some of them if
10:15 they've had some bad hits what are they
10:16 really focusing
10:19 on you know what I don't want to
10:21 do and that's the same thing here you
10:23 were talking about working in the video
10:24 store and looking at the porches and
10:27 stuff I used to drive around in my car
10:29 you know doing the cold calling with the
10:30 credit card machines and one way that I
10:33 would avoid cold calling the pain of
10:35 like cold calling and knocking on doors
10:36 and everything would be to listen to
10:38 your stuff and listen to Jim rone stuff
10:40 just drive around no particular Des just
10:42 to listen to it and strangely I still
10:43 like to drive around I prefer to listen
10:46 to that stuff in the car for someon cuz
10:48 it's where you got imprinted I guess I
10:49 mean it's like well drive up and down
10:51 the coast and check out the ocean you
10:53 yeah so I would drive around and I would
10:56 envision myself holding those types of
10:59 seminars teaching people that kind of of
11:01 stuff and 3 weeks ago I was teaching a
11:03 seminar in San Diego and I was talking
11:05 about beliefs and envisioning things and
11:07 I had to stop and I shared with the
11:08 audience I was like you're not going to
11:09 believe this but I actually used to
11:13 Envision this very moment me talking to
11:16 you right now so really really works W
11:17 definitely works makes a difference I
11:18 say I'll tell you what I worked with
11:22 Andre agasse in 1993 I think it was he'd
11:23 been number one he dropped a 302nd in
11:25 the world and he was ready literally
11:27 ready to quit with no exaggeration his
11:28 father was managing him and he was so
11:30 angry with his life and he went through
11:31 some I think wrist surgery at the time
11:34 and he's working on his swing and he was
11:35 dating Brook Shields at that point they
11:37 weren't married not his current marriage
11:38 obviously and so she said you got to
11:39 come see Tony because I don't need
11:41 motivation he go he's not motivation man
11:43 he's strategy he'll show you how to make
11:45 that shift in your head so he comes I
11:46 worked with a guy and in the beginning
11:49 he's saying you know do your magic stuff
11:51 like oh yeah great thank you and I said
11:53 tell me you if you hit a tennis ball
11:54 perfectly and I'm trying to get him in
11:56 the zone to remember that time like you
11:59 visioned where he was perfect at it he
12:00 goes of course I have and I get Vision
12:02 over and over again and finally he's in
12:04 the zone he's feeling that again right
12:05 he's seeing it and he's feeling certain
12:08 and the swing is going perfect I said
12:10 how's that feel go it feels perfect I
12:11 said but are you thinking about the
12:13 swing you're not thinking about the
12:14 swing you're not thinking about how to
12:16 do it you're just seeing the result you
12:19 want so vividly that it's there so all
12:20 he did was train him how to go on that
12:21 state over and over again he won the
12:23 next weekend the second weekend he came
12:25 in second within six months he was
12:26 number one in the world again and he
12:28 gave me unbelievable credit but all it
12:30 was was conditioning the mind you did it
12:32 with tape so did I I we were just
12:34 talking about this earlier Pam and I I
12:35 used to go when I was 17 years old down
12:37 a downtown Los Angeles this place called
12:39 night education K andig GT like at the
12:41 night and I'd save up all my money work
12:43 as a janitor and I would get these tapes
12:45 and listen to these things over and over
12:46 and over again I went there for years
12:48 and I didn't have enough money and I
12:49 leveraged everything I had but I knew
12:51 how to train my mind it's the one thing
12:52 I knew how to do this man's name is
12:54 Mario I saw him in his 80s you know he
12:56 obviously knows how my life turned out
12:58 and was very proud of the role he played
12:59 and that process you tell people the
13:01 story this guy's the real thing he
13:02 didn't just start out this way this is
13:03 how Tony did it he listen to these tapes
13:05 he conditioned himself right this is the
13:08 real stuff he passed away a few years
13:10 ago I'm calling his house and he passed
13:13 away and his his his daughter was there
13:15 and she wanted to share with me that how
13:16 I touched his life and so forth but the
13:18 best thing was I thought you know what I
13:19 want to get those tapes I want to get
13:20 that stuff that conditioned you I want
13:22 to go back to that moment like you did
13:24 of you know that moment was visualizing
13:26 now I'm living it and she said he left
13:28 all this in his will to you so I have
13:30 all these tapes now that from the time
13:31 when I originally went through like I'd
13:33 go to sleep and these sleep tapes that
13:35 condition my mind to believe that I
13:36 could succeed even when I was sleeping
13:39 or to build energy in my body and
13:41 anybody wants to succeed has got to know
13:43 it doesn't just happen you can buy a
13:45 product but you also with that product
13:46 have got to condition yourself you got
13:48 to make it a must and you got to get a
13:50 ritual and if you do it whatever you
13:51 used to dream about you thought was so
13:52 huge you'll just live it you'll live it
13:54 like you lived this yesterday like we're
13:56 all living the life that we envision cuz
13:58 we had to and cuz we played this game
14:00 with our head we got the belief to be
14:02 real by seeing it enough times and feel
14:04 it enough times to our brain believed it
14:05 and then it made it happen which raised
14:07 the potential which made us take more
14:08 action which got us better results which
14:10 raised our beliefs again that's right
14:11 and then that's what that's why the rich
14:13 get richer and the poor get poorer so
14:15 instead of bitching about it change it
14:16 this is how you change it's like a
14:18 self-fulfilling prophecy completely it's
14:20 pretty easy to change just that one
14:22 simple exercise was amazing I'm still
14:24 like holy crap I wonder what else I can
14:26 do now but look what most people do most
14:28 people do the opposite of that right
14:29 they get the product or they think about
14:32 doing it what do they Envision it not
14:33 working that's right the excuses so they
14:35 Envision it not working soon as they
14:36 Envision I'm working they feel uncertain
14:37 soon as they feel uncertain how much
14:40 potential they've that little if
14:42 anything and so they send back your
14:44 product and they listen to the damn
14:46 thing you know and guess what what does
14:47 that do by the way they make that as
14:49 another lousy result in their life I
14:50 didn't even follow through on that and
14:53 they believe even less this process is
14:55 the Holy Grail it's where the whole game
14:57 changes and anybody can do it and they
14:58 can do it in a few minutes and if they
15:00 do it a few minutes each day then they
15:02 get a different life they do it a few
15:04 minute one time their life changes for
15:06 the day it's we're defined by our
15:08 rituals everybody's got rituals certain
15:09 things they do every day and what we
15:11 three have in common and anybody that I
15:13 know of who has a life that they're
15:15 living that was once a vision is we saw
15:17 it again and again again even when it
15:19 didn't work even when you lost 100 Grand
15:20 even when I'm working as a janitor
15:22 there's something we would not give up
15:24 on and if somebody watching wants to
15:25 change their life they got to decide
15:27 what they won't give up on and then put
15:29 themselves in the state at moment by
15:30 couple little rituals that's all and I
15:31 think especially when it comes to
15:33 anything related to making money like
15:35 making money products or promises or
15:37 courses people are so inundated with
15:41 scams and all this garbage true garbage
15:43 that you know their natural thinking is
15:45 that they're so skeptical it's like they
15:48 fall into the conditioning of well if
15:50 anything's everever going to work that
15:52 thing has to prove it to me before I
15:55 believe anything so when they they go to
15:57 approach the thing to make more money
15:59 with they're like well I'm starting at
16:02 zero and this thing has to prove to me
16:04 that it has any potential at all before
16:06 I believe that it will don't don't you
16:08 agree with that's the case unfortunately
16:09 agree it's the case but here's the truth
16:11 when somebody says to me in my business
16:12 even M because a lot of people think I'm
16:14 a motivator I hate that term that's
16:16 never been what I've done I do believe
16:17 in energy and I'm passionate you know
16:19 they see 10,000 people in the room
16:21 rocking they go he's motivating them I
16:24 believe in Peak State you get a top
16:25 athlete you get in a concert and you get
16:28 in state right the problem is to to
16:29 defend themselves so they won't be
16:31 disappointed again they lower their
16:32 expectations so someone will say to me
16:35 well I'm skeptical or I'm pessimistic
16:37 and my response to them is no man you're
16:40 gutless it takes no guts to be skeptical
16:42 you don't have to have any capacity to
16:45 be a Critic and now with the web you
16:46 don't even have to own that you're the
16:48 one being the critic can burn somebody
16:50 and you know anonymously right I said
16:52 you know what it takes guts to believe
16:54 and if you think something's going to do
16:56 it for you without you putting your guts
16:57 on the line you might as well forget it
17:00 right now so this idea that I'm
17:01 skeptical or they got to prove it to me
17:02 it's the biggest lie what that really is
17:04 is you're fear talking you're so scared
17:06 of failing you don't even want to get
17:07 your hopes up and if you don't get your
17:08 hopes up you might say well what if they
17:10 get their hopes up and somebody gets
17:11 disappointed how many disappointments
17:13 have we experienced in our business
17:14 Growers and in our lives the difference
17:16 is some people take disappointment let
17:18 it destroy them other people take
17:20 disappointment let it drive them and you
