0:40 bestselling book but this morning we're
0:42 going to be looking at your liver and
0:46 your liver is the organ that is
0:49 orchestrating the detox the liver is
0:51 often called the project manager because
0:53 everything that goes into the body goes
0:55 first to the liver and everything that
0:58 comes out of the body comes out under
1:00 the jurisdiction of the liver
1:02 so what we're going to first of all do
1:04 have a look at what goes into the body
1:07 and what the liver does with
1:10 it so we're going to have a look at
1:13 foods and never in the history of
1:16 mankind have human beings eaten so many
1:19 carbohydrates I think you'll agree with
1:22 me we've become High carbohydrates
1:24 consumers you just go into any
1:27 supermarket and there's usually a whole
1:31 aisle devoted to bread a whole o devoted to
1:32 to
1:37 cereal and almost a whole oil devoted to
1:41 Pasta there's certainly a a large
1:44 section devoted to to cakes now I'm just
1:47 going to say cakes Etc
1:51 because this takes into consideration uh
1:55 croissants muffins cookies bis biscuits
1:57 well we call what you call cookies we
2:01 call those biscuits also another high
2:04 carbohydrate is
2:07 pizza rice rice is
2:11 another carbohydrate
2:15 potatoes and products made with potatoes
2:19 abound there's your French fries your
2:20 chips you call them potato crisps or
2:23 chips and then last and certainly least
2:26 in nutritive value is the pure
2:29 crystallized acid extracted from the
2:30 sugar cane
2:33 plant would you agree with me but if you
2:36 live on the farm this is not fast
2:39 food all this has to be made what's the
2:42 fast food down on the farm are fruits and
2:43 and
2:46 vegetables that's your that's your best
2:47 fast food shop is your fruit and
2:51 vegetable shop all of these Foods in the
2:53 gastrointestinal tract break down to a
2:56 singular structure called
2:59 glucose and glucose gets absorbed out of
3:01 the the gut into the blood goes on the
3:03 M1 Main
3:06 Highway portal vein straight to the
3:09 liver and then the liver determines what
3:12 happens to that glucose and the first
3:15 place it goes is to the
3:18 cell so the glucose goes into the cell
3:20 under the action of insulin it goes
3:23 through a 20 step
3:27 pathway and that 20 step pathway gives
3:30 us two units of energy
3:32 the end result of the 20 step pathway is
3:36 a chemical form of glucose called
3:39 pyruvate and pyate is the chemical form
3:42 of glucose that gets fed into what's
3:45 often called the PowerHouse of the cell
3:48 because this eight-step pathway delivers
3:52 to US 36 units of energy the focus is on
3:55 the liver the body's detox Commander
3:57 everything that enters is filtered
3:59 through this organ but here's the harsh
4:02 truth our diets are killing it
4:04 supermarkets are stocked with
4:06 carbohydrate heavy foods like bread
4:09 pasta and sugar-filled treats
4:12 overwhelming the liver with glucose most
4:15 of it gets converted into fat leading to
4:17 the silent epidemic of non-alcoholic
4:20 fatty liver disease people don't realize
4:23 that pizza chips and even rice are
4:25 flooding the liver with more than it can
4:28 handle the liver which should be
4:31 managing detox is instead drowning in
4:34 fat fruits and vegetables on the other
4:37 hand give the liver a break promoting
4:40 detox rather than fat buildup it's time
4:43 to stop sabotaging our bodies with carbs
4:46 and opt for natural foods that heal the
4:49 liver can recover but only if we act now
4:51 by embracing real nutritious
4:54 food you see on this High carboh hydrate
4:55 diet the poor old pancreas is getting
4:58 screamed out all day more insulin more
5:00 insulin more insulin
5:03 but on this diet the pancreas is getting
5:06 a break and it starts to
5:08 revive people with high cholesterol
5:11 levels came back to normal and what are
5:14 we told we've got to do if we want to
5:15 get cholesterol levels
5:18 down stop the meat buttercream cheese
5:22 eggs am I right yeah and the and the
5:23 drug that's
5:26 true his the cholesterol levels were coming
5:27 coming
5:30 down Atkin scratched his his cancer
5:32 patients were going into remission do
5:34 you remember yesterday and I do admit I
5:37 am guilty of inflammation overload but
5:39 cancer cells consume 15 times the
5:42 glucose of any other cell so when you
5:46 drastically stop this high glucose Foods
5:48 the cancer cells can actually
5:50 self-destruct when they're not getting
5:52 the glucose they
5:55 need what Atkins discovered is that
5:58 these three food groups are the
6:00 essential food groups what is essential
6:02 mean body doesn't make you got to put it
6:06 in fiber is essential because our gut
6:08 needs to be swept every day that's what
6:12 fiber does essential because it's in the
6:14 fiber part of the food that you'll often
6:17 get a concentration of your nutrients
6:18 did you know that the highest
6:21 concentration of nutrients in the potato
6:23 is just under the skin and when you peel
6:25 your potatoes you lose
6:28 that we're very thankful to Jamie Oliver
6:30 who got people to leave the skins on their
6:32 their
6:35 potatoes you see on this high carb diet
6:38 the pancreas is constantly being yelled
6:40 at for more insulin it's
6:43 exhausted but when we shift away from
6:45 these glucose heavy Foods the pancreas
6:48 finally gets a break and starts to
6:51 recover people with high
6:53 cholesterol their levels dropped and
6:55 guess what they weren't avoiding
6:58 buttercream or eggs we've been told to
7:01 fear these foods but it's the carbs that
7:04 are the real villain cholesterol came
7:07 down and even cancer patients saw their
7:11 tumors shrink why because cancer cells
7:13 thrive on glucose 15 times more than
7:17 normal cells cut off the glucose Supply
7:20 and the cancer starts to starve the real
7:24 essential Foods butter eggs cream they
7:26 don't spike your insulin and they
7:28 support overall
7:31 health fiber is crucial too sweeping the
7:34 gut clean and delivering nutrients even
7:36 something as simple as eating potatoes
7:38 with the skin Boost
7:42 nutrition the truth fatty liver thrives
7:46 on sugar not healthy fats where is
7:50 dandelion lion is the king of the jungle
7:53 and I think dandelion is the king of the
7:55 the herbs in the garden because
7:59 dandelion is a bitter herb if you were
8:03 to to bite it and eat it it's it's very
8:05 very bitter and you've heard the old
8:07 saying sweet to the mouth bitter to the
8:10 stomach sweet to the mouth bitter to the
8:12 stomach think of that with sugar sugar
8:14 is sweet to the mouth but very bitter to
8:17 the stomach whereas your bitter herbs
8:19 like dandelion they're bitter to the
8:21 mouth but very sweet to the stomach
8:23 because it's the bitter herbs that
8:27 stimulate the liver to release to
8:29 release its um digestive enzy
8:32 and also it can the bitterness causes
8:34 the stomach to release its digestive
8:37 enzymes too
8:40 dandelion is the liver herb your liver
8:42 is a recoverable organ it's the only
8:45 organ in the body that has the ability
8:48 to regrow or recover that's why they can
8:51 do a liver transplant on just a little
8:55 bit of liver and the the liver will
8:59 regrow and I'm so glad M that God made
9:02 the liver a recoverable organ because
9:03 some of the things that people are doing
9:05 to their body in ignorance mostly
9:08 granted if we didn't have a recoverable
9:10 organ some of us wouldn't even live past
9:14 our 20s but God in his great wisdom and
9:16 mercy made the liver to be a recoverable
9:20 organ and these herbs help stimulate the
9:23 liver to regrow and to
9:25 recover cancer cannot get a hold on the
9:28 body if the liver is working in Optimum
9:32 performance now how can we eat this how
9:35 can we eat the dandelion well there's a
9:37 recipe in Europe a friend of mine went
9:40 through Europe traveling for a while and
9:42 she stayed at some of her relatives cuz
9:45 she's German descent and she said that
9:48 they make this wonderful hot potato
9:50 salad they cook the
9:52 potatoes and then they chop them up hot
9:56 into hunks and then they chop up heaps of
9:57 of
9:59 dandelion and then they put Lots of
10:02 olive oil crushed garlic and salt just
10:06 imagine that doesn't that sound yum now those
10:07 those
10:10 smooth um blandish
10:12 potatoes covered with the delicious
10:15 olive oil that makes anything taste nice
10:18 and that also calms down the garlic and
10:20 it and it also calms down the bitterness
10:23 of the dandelion so every mouthful you
10:26 eat is mostly potato with that lovely
10:29 oil on it and salt and a little garlic
10:31 and a little bit of dandelion it's
10:33 actually delicious it sort of balances
10:37 out to a delicious hot potato salad now
10:39 this lady suffered from Iron problem she
10:42 said I had no iron challenges when I was
10:44 in Europe she said I think I was it's
10:46 because I was eating the Hot Potato
10:48 dandelion salad every day now what you
10:52 can also do you can buy um you can buy
10:56 the Dand root that's been roasted so
10:59 that's like a dandong coffee and you can
11:01 buy delicious drink in the health food
11:05 shop and we sell it at Misty called chai
11:07 dandelion a lot of people will drink
11:10 chai tea but the tea of course has the
11:12 tannin and the caffein in it but chai
11:15 dandelion is a delicious drink a lot of
11:17 people don't like herb teas because they
11:21 say they're tasteless and Bland not chai
11:24 dandelion chai dandelion is a delicious
11:26 drink and it has a whole lot of herbs
11:28 and spices with it to make give it that
11:29 beautiful flavor
11:33 so um you can have the fresh dandelion
11:36 scattered through your salads or you can
11:38 make your hot potato salad with lots of
11:42 dandelion in it the leaves or you can uh
11:45 buy the dandelion root roasted and uh
11:49 have that as a as a hot
11:52 drink let me tell you dandelion is the
11:55 king of herbs especially for your liver
11:56 it's bitter to the mouth but incredibly
11:59 sweet to the stomach and it's exactly
12:01 what your liver needs to recover from
12:04 fatty liver we've been brainwashed into
12:06 thinking sugar- filled foods are the way
12:08 but they're silently destroying your
12:11 liver dandelion on the other hand
12:13 stimulates the liver to release
12:16 essential digestive enzymes promoting
12:17 detox and
12:20 regeneration now how do you consume it
12:22 you can scatter fresh dandelion leaves
12:25 in your salads balancing bitterness with
12:29 other greens or for a powerful tonic try
12:32 roasted dandelion root as a tea it's a
12:33 fantastic liver
12:36 cleanser it stimulates bile production
12:39 which helps the liver break down fats
12:42 flushing out toxins and you might be
12:44 surprised to see that the first alkaline
12:47 food I'm putting up here is the humble
12:49 lemon and you might say no the lemon's
12:53 acid it is and it's acid where it should
12:55 be there's only one part in the body
12:56 that should be acid you know where that
12:59 is stomach stomach
13:01 it must be acid if someone says I've got
13:04 a very acid stomach I say praise
13:07 God because if you don't have an acid
13:09 stomach you can't break your proteins
13:12 down how do you know it's acid well it's
13:15 sore it's well you shouldn't feel it I
13:17 can't feel it means you haven't got a
13:19 thick mucosa lining on the stomach we're
13:21 going to look at water tomorrow and
13:23 that's made up of water maybe it's
13:25 because you're dehydrated remember you
13:28 got to investigate now the lemon is acid
13:30 where it should be be that's why you'll
13:32 find that most of our salad dressings
13:34 have lemon in
13:37 them but when it is broken down in the
13:42 gut and the minerals are dispersed and
13:44 absorbed into the blood and thus to the
13:48 tissues it has an alkaline effect
13:50 because the lemon is high in the
13:53 alkaline minerals which is sodium and potassium
13:55 potassium
13:58 calcium magnesium and iron these are the alkaline
13:59 alkaline
14:02 minerals and the lemon is high in the
14:04 alkaline minerals don't you love the
14:06 lemon every home should have a lemon
14:09 tree and if you're in a unit you can
14:11 have a lemon tree in a pot on your
14:15 veranda and one one liver herb that many
14:18 people don't realize it is is the Lemon
14:20 so a great drink in the morning remember
14:22 you wake up have your water have another
14:25 bit of water and then when you come near
14:28 the kitchen have the kettle boiled and put
14:29 put
14:31 juice of a lemon in some water with a
14:33 little bit of boiling water on top and
14:36 have a warm lemon drink fantastic uh
14:38 liver tonic early in the
14:42 morning also the lemon is an internal
14:44 alkalizer so that will do a two a few
14:47 things too one liver herb that many
14:49 people don't realize is incredibly
14:51 powerful is the humble
14:54 lemon in the morning I always recommend
14:57 starting with a simple lemon drink after
14:59 you wake up have your water then boil
15:02 the kettle and squeeze half a lemon into
15:04 a cup with some warm water not boiling
15:07 this makes for a fantastic liver tonic
15:10 lemons are more than just acidic they're
15:11 powerful internal
15:14 alkalizers they help balance the body's
15:17 pH which is crucial for Liver Health
15:19 bile is essential for breaking down fats
15:21 in the liver so when you drink lemon tea
15:24 daily you're giving your liver the tools
15:26 it needs to recover and function
15:29 properly it's simple natural and it
15:32 works now we're going to have a look at
15:36 Ginger Ginger can be used internally and
15:39 ginger can be used externally
15:41 internally it's an
15:43 anti-inflammatory but it's probably
15:47 mostly known for its anti-nausea effect
15:49 if you buy car sickness or seasickness
15:52 tablets it's compressed
15:55 Ginger now the easiest way I think to
15:58 have this is to grate it so you grate it
16:00 on that little grater and you'll grate
16:02 about a teaspoon and you put it in a
16:04 Little Teapot and pour boiling water on
16:07 it and let it sit probably 10 minutes
16:09 now that might be too strong for you but
16:12 I love it I love it like that if it's
16:13 too strong you just water it down a
16:17 little bit if someone's very cold maybe
16:19 they've been caught out in the cold or
16:22 something and it's very hard to warm
16:23 them up give them a cup of hot ginger
16:26 tea and it will warm them up very
16:29 nicely so it can be used for nausea it
16:31 can be used to warm a person if they're
16:34 chilled or cold and you saw too it is
16:37 one of the recipes in the flu bomb I was
16:40 at a function was a health seminar and
16:43 in the break everyone went and had their
16:45 herb teas and there was a a girl with a
16:49 tiny little grater grating Ginger and I
16:52 said ah Ginger she said I'm an
16:54 Entertainer I'm a singer she said I was
16:57 in Greece last year and I lost my voice
17:00 and a little a little Greek Lady made me
17:02 a hot ginger tea she said I sung that
17:05 night so I said she said I travel with
17:08 my little greater everywhere I go so
17:10 very nice on a sore throat or horse
17:13 throat now let's talk about Ginger
17:16 Ginger can be used both internally and
17:18 externally but it's best known for its
17:20 anti-inflammatory and anti-nausea
17:22 properties if you've ever had car
17:25 sickness or seasickness those tablets
17:28 you take they're just compressed Ginger
17:30 I love to grate about a teaspoon of
17:32 fresh ginger put it in a teapot and pour
17:35 boiling water over it let it steep for
17:38 about 10 minutes strong but powerful if
17:41 it's too intense you can always dilute
17:44 it ginger tea is fantastic for warming
17:46 the body especially if someone's been
17:48 caught in the cold but here's where it
17:51 gets interesting Ginger's
17:53 anti-inflammatory power also helps the
17:56 liver especially in cases of fatty
17:59 liver when you drink ginger tea regular
18:01 L it stimulates bile flow which helps
18:03 break down fats in the liver reducing
18:06 fat buildup plus it fights the
18:09 inflammation that comes with fatty liver
18:11 a simple cup of ginger tea can do
18:14 wonders for Liver Health and overall
18:16 detoxification we we are also different
18:20 we're all a combination of birth
18:23 genetics experiences and that's why I
18:25 believe everyone should be their own
18:27 doctor there is another herb that you
18:29 can take on the inside to get
18:31 inflammation down and that's
18:35 turmeric turmeric is a very powerful
18:38 herb internally to get the inflammation
18:41 down how often or how so teaspoon three
18:44 times a day sure if it's the fresh
18:49 turmeric you would uh triple that dose
18:51 if it's dried then you bring it back now
18:52 let's dive into
18:55 teric this herb is incredibly powerful
18:59 for reducing inflammation internally and
19:01 it's a must for anyone dealing with
19:04 chronic conditions including fatty
19:07 liver I recommend a teaspoon of turmeric
19:10 three times a day if you're using fresh
19:12 turmeric you'd triple the amount
19:15 compared to dried turmeric isn't just
19:17 about reducing inflammation it supports
19:21 heart health improves digestion and
19:23 protects against oxidative
19:26 stress but here's the controversial part
19:28 fatty liver thrives in an inflamed
19:31 environment and turmeric especially its
19:34 active ingredient curcumin helps combat
19:37 that curcumin fights inflammation at the
19:39 cellular level which is crucial because
19:41 chronic inflammation contributes to
19:43 liver damage and even
19:46 cancer consuming turmeric as tea is
19:50 simple just boil water add a teaspoon of
19:52 turmeric a pinch of black pepper to
19:56 boost absorption and let it steep this
19:59 tea not only fights fatty liver but also
20:02 boosts overall Wellness by detoxifying
20:04 and protecting the liver so there you
20:06 have it just a few simple natural
20:08 remedies that can fix fatty liver in as
20:12 little as 2 weeks remember your liver
20:15 can recover but it needs your help if
20:17 you found this helpful don't forget to
