0:02 well here we
0:05 are in the Hmart parking
0:09 lot where I'm about to go in and buy
0:13 some miso paste and some kimchi but
0:16 before I do I thought I would answer
0:18 some of your questions that you left do
0:22 a good oldfashioned Q&A video I say that
0:25 like I've ever done a Q&A video before
0:28 I've never done one but that's what
0:30 today's Vlog is going to be
0:33 a Q&A video all right
0:36 so people ask
0:38 questions and I'm going to answer them
0:41 and that's how a Q&A video worked I took
0:44 some screenshots hold on I hate the way
0:47 that the new photo library is
0:50 organized I hate it all right
0:53 question what are you currently working
0:55 on and what are some exciting new things
0:58 coming up for you well currently I am
1:01 working on vlogmas no I think I know
1:02 what you're trying to ask I think you're
1:05 asking about future projects so in terms
1:09 of film making I wrote several
1:11 screenplays over the last year somewhere
1:15 for TV somewhere for film like feature
1:18 films and I've been trying to sell some
1:20 of them they're are varying different
1:23 levels of trying to be developed and sold
1:24 sold
1:27 and put into production and it's sort of
1:30 on Hiatus right now because of of the
1:32 holiday but I don't know we'll see what
1:34 happens with them some of them have been
1:38 in development for a really long time
1:40 and I hope that they see the light of day
1:41 day
1:44 because I worked really hard on them but for
1:45 for
1:49 now I'm just vlogging that is that is
1:51 the project I'm working on oh you know
1:55 what that's not true am going to be in a
1:59 movie next year um I forgot about that
2:00 they sent me this script offered me the
2:03 role I read the script and said yes so
2:04 we're going to have a meeting me and the
2:07 director and the writer uh next year and
2:09 it's a romcom and it will'll probably be
2:13 next summer so that's exciting but other
2:15 than that
2:17 vlogmas okay someone had asked a while
2:19 back if I would sing something on the piano
2:21 piano
2:25 I have not touched my piano since making
2:31 that Pitch Perfect video um a while back
2:32 I just called it a Pitch Perfect video
2:35 it's a perfect pitch
2:37 video Perfect Pitch video yeah I have
2:39 not touched my
2:43 piano so I would like to and in fact if
2:47 I am going to do it maybe I will try to
2:50 learn uh my favorite song of the year is
2:53 this song called older by Lizzy McAlpine
2:54 and actually I think on her YouTube
2:56 channel they show a tutorial of how to
2:59 play it so maybe I'll learn to play it
3:01 and try to do it for my birthday since
3:04 it's called older but uh that might not
3:07 happen so apologies if it doesn't but in
3:09 my heart I want to serenade you with
3:13 that but it might not happen sorry what
3:15 are some of your favorite YouTube
3:19 channels H jenim who I had the pleasure
3:23 of meeting at a party and uh acted like
3:26 an idiot but I was in the Vlog who else
3:28 okay I'm going to cheat a little bit and
3:31 look at all of my uh all of my
3:33 subscriptions I'll try not to list too
3:35 many I'll try to limit to five okay
3:38 let's go down the list Rachel nen AKA
3:41 that's Chic she's actually my editing
3:44 teacher so hi Rachel I think she's
3:46 living in a van right now and and
3:49 vlogging about it daily also so you
3:51 should definitely check her out her
3:54 style of making videos is incredible
3:55 which is why I wanted to learn from her
3:57 yeah she's really just great at
4:01 storytelling and also a very very very
4:06 talented uh DP and uh camera person Lindsay
4:07 Lindsay
4:10 RM lindsy REM lindsy RM which is so
4:12 funny cuz I know people buy like their
4:15 handle but not actually their name uh
4:20 she's an LA vlogger and um I really love
4:23 her content oh my god listen to me right
4:26 now but she's also gluten-free she also
4:29 has a dog so I really feel like um I
4:31 like watching ing her videos because
4:33 they're full of good ideas Caroline
4:38 Winkler is an interior designer but I
4:39 started watching her during the pandemic
4:42 and I actually watched her explode when
4:44 she started talking about like her her
4:46 dating life like following her dating
4:48 Adventures was really really interesting
4:50 she's in a solid relationship right now
4:54 and she's got a great podcast it's
4:57 called not for everyone she co-hosts it
5:00 with a woman named Jess highly recommend
5:02 Caroline she sometimes does like
5:04 makeovers and stuff like that but I just
5:06 like watching her she's very funny and
5:07 she also used to be an actress Emma
5:11 Chamberlain I mean who doesn't love Emma
5:14 Chamberlain she's just really fun to
5:16 watch and makes everyone feel like she's
5:18 just talking to you I also love her
5:20 podcast doobie duop is that how you say
5:23 her name duie duop I think her actual
5:27 name is Tina yeah doobie duop actually
5:28 Abe and I like watching her videos
5:32 together she lives in South Korea but I
5:35 think she's moving to Denmark which is
5:38 exciting because I love Denmark is she
5:40 moving to Denmark I think that's where
5:42 her boyfriend lives anyway great food
5:44 content really really funny very very
5:46 very talented I feel like I should just
5:48 stop here because there's just so so
5:51 many but um that's just a handful of
5:52 people I'm trying to think if there's
5:55 like other
5:58 vloggers who are closer to my age
6:01 because I feel like we need more of us
6:03 out there I'm just going through the
6:08 list very quickly oh Susan Yara mixed
6:10 makeup I've learned so much about
6:12 skincare from Susan oh I love Alison
6:15 Roman um I've always loved Alison Roman
6:20 and um she's having a baby and yeah even
6:22 when I'm not going to cook a roast I
6:24 mean you all know I hate cooking but I
6:26 love watching Alison Roman she's
6:28 fascinating she makes anything look
6:30 delicious oh lately I've been watching
6:34 some dudes I've been watching Eric Wong
6:37 or Eric Wang he does like great home
6:39 body Diaries and has like really
6:42 wonderful style and taste in interiors
6:45 and I also recently discovered Mikey
6:49 Rogers who is also in his 40s he's also
6:53 a small Creator quotequote small Creator
6:55 but I'm want I'm going through his
6:56 videos and I'm seeing that he's growing
6:58 just even in like these last few weeks
7:00 so way to go
7:04 Mikey yeah he shares his life in San
7:07 Diego and he's also got really great
7:10 taste and I think he he had like a
7:12 full-time job for a long time and is now
7:14 fully committed to
7:17 this content creation life and it's been
7:20 fun to follow his journey okay that's it
7:23 for now on all of the YouTubers I feel
7:26 like I did more than what did I say five
7:27 I feel like I did more than five all
7:29 right these are the Instagram question
7:31 questions and I'm going to I was going
7:32 to move you
7:34 but the camera is very happy there so
7:36 I'll just continue on from here do you
7:40 have any plans for GL movie again GL
7:43 movie I think that they mean gay lesbian
7:46 movie um because of Saving Face I mean
7:49 I've done other gay lesbian movies uh
7:52 off the top of my head see you then is a
7:57 movie about a trans woman um I did that
7:59 though that's not really gay lesbian but
8:01 it's in the queer space I have not
8:03 played a lesbian again have I I'm trying
8:04 to think about it yeah I guess that is a
8:08 good question I have played the mom of a
8:11 gay boy in a Disney short that you can
8:14 see called The Little Princess it's on
8:18 Disney plus but yeah in terms of playing
8:21 a lesbian again that has not happened
8:23 has it mostly
8:25 because I feel
8:29 like these days lesbian actresses play
8:32 lesbian rolls which is great um someone
8:36 asked what would be your dream acting role
8:38 role
8:41 h i mean so many different feelings
8:43 coming up right now I think when I was
8:45 younger it would have been something
8:49 like oh I want to play a bride or I want
8:51 to play so I could wear like a big
8:54 pretty dress or I want to play a mom so
8:56 I could like do the whole giving birth
8:58 thing and when I was even younger I
8:59 would have wanted to play a cheerleader
9:01 cuz I was obsessed with being a
9:03 cheerleader when I was in high school
9:05 those days are all kind of behind me
9:07 here and uh I mean I could still play a
9:10 bride and I could probably still play
9:13 someone who's giving birth but those
9:15 aren't my dream roles my dream roles are
9:18 Parts where you can really see the
9:19 character go on a
9:23 journey an internal journey and I
9:25 actually you
9:29 know I'm always jealous of roles where
9:31 people don't have to say much they're
9:34 just like doing and they're not really
9:35 talking very much they maybe it's
9:37 because they don't have many lines to
9:39 memorize I actually do not mind
9:42 memorizing lines but I uh I used to have
9:44 trouble memorizing lines actually and I
9:47 did hypnosis and it really helped but
9:49 this is not about my hypnosis this is
9:54 about my dream role yeah I think a role
9:57 where it's sort of the day-to-day life
9:59 so you really get a full
10:02 picture I would love some like real
10:04 drama and juiciness in it and I would
10:06 love to have written it but really if
10:08 we're talking dream roll it's a Disney
10:12 movie it's a Disney movie of course it's
10:16 a Disney movie um to to voice a Disney
10:18 character a villain would be really
10:22 really fun and to get to sing oh my God
10:24 I'd be so happy to do a Disney movie
10:26 yeah that's that's what it is my dream
10:30 role is to uh not be on screen and voice
10:32 a Disney character lots of acting
10:35 questions as an actress what's more
10:37 rewarding about portraying diverse
10:40 narratives and experiences I think being
10:43 able to tell people's
10:45 people's
10:51 stories that I don't necessarily live or
10:53 understand really helps
10:57 me understand that we're
11:00 all so similar
11:04 like being able to see that someone who
11:06 I would think on paper I don't have much
11:07 in common
11:16 really helpful to remind us of our
11:19 Humanity or remind me of my humanity and
11:20 that's what I think is extremely
11:23 rewarding and then of course being able
11:26 to connect with audiences who are
11:29 grateful um for
11:31 for that connection I can't even tell
11:33 you how many people over the last two
11:35 decades have told me that they've come
11:37 out to their families because of Saving
11:40 Face never would have imagined that and
11:43 um it's just a really beautiful thing
11:48 that I never expected and I'm just so so
11:51 humbled by and so appreciative that I
11:53 get to be part of people's personal
11:56 Journeys and it really has nothing to do
11:57 with my personal life it's just sort of
12:00 the vehicle in which I was able to
12:04 connect and I think that's so beautiful
12:07 I hope that answers your question okay
12:09 how did you enjoy working with TJ Miller
12:10 on Silicon
12:13 Valley I really enjoyed working with TJ
12:17 actually he's very very very nice we
12:19 were the only ones really working for
12:22 the first day I didn't meet any of the
12:25 other cast members we were in a hotel in
12:29 Los Angeles and he was great like just
12:31 hung out in a hotel and watched some
12:35 movies when we weren't on and on on set
12:38 and he's very funny and charming and and
12:40 nice and that was my experience working
12:42 with TJ and when everyone else came in
12:44 and we had more scenes to do with other
12:47 people he was so friendly he was like go
12:49 I remember him saying guys this is Lynn
12:52 this is Lynn as if anyone would care but
12:54 you know they were nice too okay here's
12:56 the final question and then I really got
12:58 to get inside and buy some kimchi cuz I am
13:00 am
13:02 really sweating here it's actually
13:04 really hot in LA right now um I have no
13:06 idea what happened but we got a heat
13:10 wave so I'm I'm sweating I'm sweating so
13:12 here we go last question are there any
13:15 Chinese cities you really want to visit
13:18 I mean there's so many cities I've
13:19 actually visited
13:23 China um twice now once when I was in
13:26 high school so that was like in the 9s
13:29 and then I went to China to work work
13:32 for the movie go back to China which you
13:35 can watch for free now on YouTube I will
13:38 link it below but yeah both of those
13:40 experiences were not like full
13:42 full adult
13:44 adult
13:46 sightseeing immersing myself I would
13:49 actually really love to just spend a
13:51 week in
13:55 Shanghai and just really be there and
13:58 see what the local life is because when
14:00 I travel at least these days I don't
14:03 really love going from place to place to
14:06 place I don't love tourist spots I don't
14:07 love crowds so maybe I shouldn't be
14:11 going to China but um I also really like
14:13 comfortable nice
14:17 hotels um so yeah I think I would like
14:18 to go to
14:22 Shanghai I remember Beijing pretty
14:24 vividly because we went to tanaman
14:26 square we went
14:30 to um see the panda
14:33 Bears I remember the panda bears really
14:37 vividly in Beijing reminder to watch my
14:39 husband's movie his documentary brother
14:41 orange which also takes place in China
14:43 it's just so weird that he went to China
14:45 without me to make a movie and I went to
14:47 China without him to make a movie so we
14:49 really have to go there together and not
14:52 make a movie and just
14:54 relax I got to get out of this stinky
14:58 car and buy some stinky kimchi and um
15:02 miso so thanks for watching and thanks
15:03 for sending in your questions and I'll
15:05 see you
