0:02 hey everyone today we are tackling a
0:04 frustrating Windows problem you have got
0:06 unallocated space on your hard drive but
0:08 you can't seem to extend your C drive to
0:11 use it this is super common but luckily
0:14 there is a fix so let's dive
0:22 management as you can see I have 225 GB
0:25 of unallocated space right here but if I
0:27 try to right click on the C drive and
0:29 choose extend volume it's grayed out and
0:31 on use ible this happens because the
0:34 unallocated space is not next to the C
0:36 drive Windows often has a hidden
0:38 recovery partition between them this
0:40 partition is important for system
0:42 recovery but it sometimes gets in the
0:44 way of extending your SE drive to extend
0:47 the SE drive we need to temporarily
0:49 disable the recovery partition to do so
0:51 please follow the
1:01 administrator type the agent C disable
1:04 and press enter this will disable the
1:07 Windows recovery environment next type
1:09 dis part and press
1:12 enter type list disk and press
1:20 disk type list partition and press
1:23 enter look for the recovery partition
1:27 it's usually less than 1 GB and labeled
1:37 type detailed partition and press [Music]
1:38 [Music]
1:41 enter copy the partition ID and
1:43 attribute from here we'll require these
2:04 now type delete partition override and press
2:10 [Music]
2:12 enter this should delete the recovery
2:15 partition now you can extend the C drive
2:17 right click on the C drive and choose extend

2:20 volume follow the wizard to add the
2:23 unallocated space to your C drive
2:25 finally we need to recreate the recovery
2:28 partition so create a 1GB of empty
2:46 go back to the command
2:50 prompt type list partition and press
2:52 enter select the empty partition that
3:33 the recovery partition is now created
3:35 however the recovery partition also
3:36 appears in the file [Music]

3:41 manager to hide it from the file manager
3:48 prompt type list volume and press
3:50 enter note the drive letter of the recovery
3:51 recovery
3:59 volume then remove the drive letter [Music]
4:05 type exit to leave the disk
4:08 part finally type reagent enable and
4:12 press enter to enable the recovery [Music]
4:17 environment that's it your C drive
4:20 should now have the extra space don't
