0:03 I think it's so strange that I'm
0:06 wearing it's the same color for K
0:09 Airways it's like I'm wearing the K
0:11 Airway skirt why do you want to be a
0:13 flight attendant why should we hire you
0:17 tell me about yourself we were feeling
0:20 like we are the ones that
0:34 hello everybody Welcome to my YouTube
0:36 channel welcome to genuine me today I
0:39 want to talk to you about something very
0:42 interesting it's something that has
0:44 always been so dear to me like so dear
0:46 to the point where I made all my
0:49 decisions around it you know I wanted to
0:54 be a flight attendant at Kar Airways so
0:56 I'm going to tell you guys about my
0:59 journey I only tried twice though I
1:02 tried I think it was the year 2022 and
1:05 okay I think it's twice in 2022 but I
1:07 want to tell you guys everything about
1:09 it in case you are looking into
1:12 information on how to make it into the
1:15 airline I can tell you what I know so
1:18 far from my experience I didn't make it
1:21 yet but I feel like my experience can
1:23 add into yours and if you are
1:25 compassionate about this career and you
1:28 are trying to get into it I feel like my
1:31 information can can add into yours like
1:32 my experience can add into your
1:35 experience and you can stand a better
1:38 chance I'm going to be reading from my
1:41 notes here and there just to to make
1:43 sure I don't forget anything important
1:47 so in this video I'm going to tell you
1:50 tips and tricks how to make it from like
1:53 the first stage to the second stage do
1:56 zomes things like that and most of it
1:59 will really be from my research which
2:01 also helped me to make it as far as I
2:05 did first thing is first there's a few
2:07 requirements that if you want to be a FL
2:09 attendant in katar Airways you must meet
2:11 one of those requirements is that you
2:15 must be 21 years of age and above but I
2:17 know there are circumstances and
2:19 instances where like maybe you are 20
2:22 but if you're tur 21 the same year they
2:24 can make an exception for you I've seen
2:26 that happen when I was at my first
2:28 interview they really like the girl and
2:31 they say you know what you can still um
2:33 go through with this because you're
2:36 turning 21 soon the second requirement
2:38 is that you must have the ability to reach
2:40 reach
2:44 212 CM on your toes or just they will
2:46 have a little marking on the wall and
2:49 you must be able to reach that that
2:52 height on your toes or without your
2:54 shoes the other requirement is that you
2:56 must have a high school certificate
2:59 remember you are able to get this job
3:02 straight off from your school because
3:04 they are taking people who are like 21
3:07 years of age upward so even if you just
3:11 finished your um grade 12 and you don't
3:14 have much work experience yet it's still
3:17 fine you must have fency in speaking
3:19 English as well as writing English you
3:23 must be willing to relocate to Doha this
3:26 is where catar Airways is based as you
3:28 go through the assessment you realize
3:30 they're actually testing this things as
3:33 well like you know the the unreach the
3:37 Excellence in in speaking English which
3:39 is why there is English tests and things
3:42 like that but let's go straight into
3:45 step number one what do you do you apply
3:48 and how do you apply you apply online
3:50 from there everything is pretty much
3:53 clear you will see the post the post
3:56 that you're trying to apply for for your
3:59 country because they go to many nations
4:01 so you will see the post you're trying
4:04 to apply for your country and you click
4:07 on it just provide all the information
4:09 that they requiring from you I think
4:12 it's pretty straight on forward if you
4:15 have made it from the application they
4:17 will send you an invitation through your
4:20 email the invitation will tell you quite
4:22 a few things like where the interview is
4:25 going to be what time slots are you
4:27 supposed to be in they will tell you
4:29 what to bring like bring your passport
4:32 for photo bring your CV and a copy of
4:34 your invitation letter which they
4:37 emailed you this invitation will also
4:39 tell you a few things to expect on that
4:43 day so from there on you have to prepare
4:45 for your interview and one thing that I
4:48 want to talk about is what must you wear
4:50 on the day how must you look first
4:52 things first you must look as
4:54 professional as possible I'm going to
4:56 put up a photo on the screen to show you
4:58 what I was wearing on my first
5:01 assessment day I I will also put the one
5:03 to show you what I was wearing on my
5:05 second assessment day remember when you
5:08 were invited to the interviews you asked
5:10 to bring a passport size photo I will
5:13 also like show you my passport size
5:15 photos try to dress more like you know
5:19 how the flight attendant dress try to
5:22 mimic that look wear a skirt your formal
5:26 skirt and a a short sleev shirt and a
5:29 blazer you need to wear a short sleev
5:31 shirt maybe even something like this it
5:34 can work when you put your Blazer on top
5:35 because there's a stage where they're
5:38 going to want to see your arms they're
5:41 going to check if you have scars and
5:43 they're going to even check on your legs
5:45 and if you do have a scar you have to
5:47 decare it you have to show it to them
5:50 this is why you should wear a short
5:53 skirt as compared to maybe long pants
5:54 because what are you going to do now
5:57 when they need to see your scars but
6:00 your skirt it shouldn't be shorts like
6:02 short shorts you know it should be
6:04 professional the same way you know like
6:08 maybe something like this like what I'm
6:12 wearing okay it doesn't show but yeah
6:14 something like
6:18 this I think it's so strange that I'm
6:20 wearing that I'm wearing this girl
6:24 because it's it's the same color for K
6:26 Airways it's like I'm wearing the K
6:28 Airways skir but yeah try to wear
6:30 something like this a little bit below
6:33 your knees you know they are a very
6:35 decent country if I can put it like that
6:38 they like people who dress really decent
6:40 so like just make sure you're on their
6:43 safe side knee length or a little lower
6:45 than your knees just a little also I
6:47 want to talk about your hair make sure
6:50 your hair is neat if if you can tie it
6:53 into a bun tie it into a neat bun like
6:56 just neat and clean like look at how the
6:59 flight attendants tie their bun try to
7:01 do that but I know it's not always the
7:03 case for everybody some of you you have
7:06 your braids try those braids neatly like
7:09 try to look as much as you can like a
7:12 flight attendant you know even this hair
7:15 length is allowed they can just leave it
7:17 loose like this just make sure
7:20 everything is neat that's what I can say
7:24 don't don't try to be curly or like
7:27 stand out too much at the hair just be
7:29 professional and neat also on the side
7:32 of men since men are watching this I
7:35 don't know much but if you're a man just
7:38 try to wear your formal I'll just I'll
7:40 put a few pictures on the screen for you
7:43 to see for women and for for men like
7:46 the best look you can have and I know
7:48 for men also while you're on the job the
7:50 flight attendants I think they don't
7:53 keep a beard I don't know if um do they
7:55 they don't keep a beard so if you're a
7:57 man and you can you know shave your
8:00 beard make your face as clean and as
8:02 neat as possible as well as a man just
8:05 try to look like a flight attendant the
8:08 flight attendant men in Kai a guys I
8:11 really feel like if you try to mimic the
8:13 look as much as you can it will work out
8:16 for you because they they want to see if
8:19 you can be a flight attendant if you can
8:21 look like what they want you to look
8:24 like so help them to Envision it help
8:26 them see a f attendant in you when they
8:29 look at you one other thing I want to
8:31 talk about your conduct is very
8:34 important just always act like someone
8:37 is watching you like when I was doing my
8:39 research I really heard a lot about that
8:41 like you never know who the recruiters
8:44 came with maybe someone is an eye out
8:46 there acting like one of the flight
8:48 attendant we don't know but try to
8:51 conduct yourself professionally um
8:54 socialize with others don't isolate
8:56 yourself you are trying to look like you
8:59 will work well with others even when you
9:02 when they've hired you so on the day
9:04 even when you're waiting for your time
9:06 slot and even after if you're waiting
9:09 for the second stage just talk to others
9:13 get to know them smile be in a good mood
9:15 you know after all when you get hired
9:17 you're going to work with a lot of
9:20 people you'll be a team and you should
9:22 be able to relate well so try to relate
9:25 with everybody around you don't isolate
9:27 yourself even when you're sitting down
9:29 sit sit professionally you know how
9:32 flight attendance they should sit in a
9:35 decent manner be aware of yourself and
9:37 be aware take the moment you get into
9:40 that interview just take everything as
9:42 an interview that's pretty much what I
9:44 can say take everything as an interview
9:47 so this is how my assessment day went I
9:50 got my invite and because they said
9:52 there was going to be so many people
9:54 they said that the assessments are going
9:58 to take 3 days the first day CV dropped
10:02 the second day the assessment and the
10:04 third day the final interview but yeah
10:07 day one let's start the CV ending uh
10:10 which is the first stage okay now it's
10:12 your turn you get in you're going to
10:14 hand your CV you're going to hand your
10:16 passport photo the things that they
10:19 required you to bring on the invitation
10:23 letter right um just be calm listen and
10:26 speak on your turn like don't interrupt
10:28 the recruiter if maybe she's saying
10:30 something and wait for her to tell you
10:34 to hand her the the CV cuz I realize
10:36 sometimes when you get into the
10:38 interview room she's still like writing
10:41 something down about the the person that
10:43 just left the room so just wait for her
10:46 to finish don't just you know slam your
10:48 your CV on the
10:51 table but I want to say I want to share
10:54 with you a few questions that you might
10:56 be asked on the interview when you're
10:59 handing your CV the most commonly asked
11:02 questions here in this stage why do you
11:04 want to be a flight attendant why should
11:07 we hire you tell me about yourself if
11:10 you can Master answering these three
11:11 questions I'm telling you there's
11:14 nothing that you should be afraid of I
11:16 remember the first time I went I was
11:18 asked why do you want to be a flight
11:20 attendant the second time I got the same
11:24 question okay from my research these are
11:27 the three most asked questions but let
11:29 me tell you what not to say when they
11:31 ask ask you why do you want to be a
11:34 flight attendant don't say that because
11:36 you love traveling don't say I want to
11:38 be a flight attendant because I love
11:41 traveling no no no no that was me the
11:44 first time I got into the interview room
11:47 and I had practic my answer I thought
11:49 girl you got this you got this and you
11:52 already taken but little did I know that
11:55 is not the way to go um don't say that
11:57 show them that you want to be a flight
11:59 attendant because of
12:02 the roles of a flight attendant because
12:05 you love customer service because you
12:09 are passionate about Aviation you love
12:13 the carea you are someone who loves um
12:16 helping people you are show them that
12:19 you love the bits and pieces about the
12:22 job like what actually goes on in the
12:24 job you know what I mean because that's
12:26 actually what you're going to be doing
12:29 and you're not going to be traveling
12:31 like you know usually when people say
12:34 they love traveling it's like you are
12:36 doing it for pleasure and things like
12:39 that so the traveling part yes we will
12:44 get it but it is not the most suitable
12:47 thing to talk about like when you're
12:48 saying you want this job because you
12:52 love traveling traveling is not the most
12:54 important thing about being a five or 10
12:57 people to them they need to see somebody
12:59 who wants to work you want to work work
13:01 you want to do this work you want to
13:04 just yeah so so if you can Master
13:06 answering these three questions I know
13:08 like even when I was doing my research
13:10 there was so many questions people said
13:12 that you can be prepared for what what
13:15 what what but um according to me these
13:17 are the questions that you need to know
13:19 also one thing that you must remember to
13:23 do when you are before the recruiter
13:25 smile and when you get into that
13:28 interview room like greet her smile be
13:30 be on a good end energy like they want
13:32 to see customer service when they look
13:35 at you like the recruiter sees herself
13:38 as a customer for a moment and you are
13:40 the flight attendant and give her that
13:42 service make her feel good you know
13:45 exude good energy like let her feel it
13:48 and one thing that you must be careful
13:52 about is um don't give an answer that is
13:54 like super formal like that's one thing
13:56 I learned uh in this experience they
13:59 want they want to hear the real you in
14:01 your answer they want you to be genuine
14:03 with your answer like like this is
14:05 coming straight from your heart like it
14:08 shouldn't be like you practice this and
14:11 like they can hear that like I witnessed
14:13 an instance where someone gave an answer
14:15 like that because you know when we were
14:17 being interviewed we were in a queue
14:20 like this but the other person like you
14:22 could almost hear the the interview
14:25 going on and he gave a really excellent
14:27 answer and the recruiter asked him tell
14:30 me the real reason you want this job
14:32 tell me the real reason because they
14:35 want to feel you they want to see you
14:37 they like it's really not about the
14:39 answer in the stage like from my
14:41 research that's what I found out not
14:44 really entirely about your answer it's
14:46 also about your energy your personality
14:50 or their testing also can you um can you
14:54 speak English fluently voice projection
14:56 things like that they're really testing
14:59 you in everything but you don't notice
15:00 that you just think it's about the
15:03 answer no it's about your smile your
15:07 face your energy um how you make them
15:10 feel when they're talking to you when
15:12 you're talking to them the way you're
15:15 responding like everything the way
15:20 you're standing your your posture your
15:22 gestures while you're talking are you
15:23 going to be standing still like this
15:26 when you're answering don't do that just
15:29 just be free try as much as you can to
15:32 to exud good energy and when you give
15:34 your answer make sure it's straight to
15:36 the point don't make it too long or Too
15:39 Short just like when they asking what's
15:41 your name just say your names that sort
15:44 of thing you know don't add too much to
15:46 your answers that's not necessary
15:49 because they have a long day and they
15:52 they want to help everybody they they
15:54 are tired they have a lot of work okay
15:59 so now if you made it they will give you
16:02 an invitation right on spot and if you
16:05 didn't make it they won't give you the
16:07 invitation or they will say I'll send
16:11 you an email um no they'll say you will
16:13 receive an
16:16 email um I feel like they say that just
16:20 to make you not feel hurt you know it's
16:22 not nice for them to reject you on spot
16:25 but usually when you make it to the
16:27 second stage they will hand you uh a
16:30 physical invite on the spot otherwise
16:33 you go home you try again next time I've
16:37 been there um the first time I went I
16:39 didn't get an invitation and they told
16:42 me we will send you an email and I
16:45 waited for that email only to find out
16:47 that there's no email that's coming it
16:50 was probably just a way to say you are
16:53 rejected because I saw that everybody
16:55 who was invited to the next day were get
16:58 were actually given invites second time
17:00 that that I tried I managed to pass the
17:04 first stage and I was given an invite on
17:07 spot so now I'll talk about the second
17:10 day the second stage this is day two the
17:13 energy is great we're socializing and
17:16 everything yeah it was so nice we were
17:19 given numbers and then we registered
17:21 ourselves with those ID numbers it was
17:23 just a way to say you know if they call
17:25 number 40 you know that they're
17:28 referring to you I was given number 40
17:31 and I for get that we went on to write
17:36 the English test it's a 30 minutes test
17:39 and it's more of an english
17:42 comprehension test there was um a short
17:44 story there and after that there was
17:47 multiple choice questions and then there
17:50 were other questions that were I think I
17:53 think everything was multiple choice
17:56 that is it so after we finished the
17:59 English test the recruiters like left
18:02 and they came back in an hour or so and
18:05 when they came back they called people
18:07 out and when they call your your ID
18:11 number like 401 mm- all these people
18:13 they were they were asked to stand up
18:16 the recruiter said everybody that I just
18:18 called out come with me there's two
18:20 recruiters so they went out with this
18:24 one recruiter we were feeling like we
18:26 are the ones that
18:31 failed but right when they left the
18:33 recruiter that was left with us told us
18:37 so you guys you the ones that made it so
18:39 if you're here in this room right now it
18:41 means that you passed your English
18:44 test so that is what happened so now
18:48 from there on we went to do the scar
18:51 check there we were on the Queue again
18:54 to show our scars let me tell you my
18:57 experience so I got into into the room
18:59 they told me to take off my shoes and do
19:02 the unreach to they wanted to see if I
19:07 can reach 212 CM I reached it and then
19:10 they asked me a question they said what
19:14 do you do on your free time what do you
19:16 usually do on your free time I think I
19:19 said that on my free time I enjoy
19:21 watching YouTube videos and doing my
19:25 makeup and yeah things like that I and
19:28 and I clean during that time as well I
19:31 think I said things like that I'm not
19:33 quite sure so now it was time to show
19:36 them my scar and they asked me if I have
19:39 any scars that I want to declare I was
19:42 aware of one scar on my body yes that
19:44 you know people don't usually notice the
19:49 scar even me myself I I never see it but
19:52 um I don't know if you will be able to
19:54 see it is this one right here on my on
20:02 okay so this is my
20:05 scar and I just quickly showed them the
20:08 scar and they said like the the
20:10 recruiter turned around and asked the
20:13 other recruiter it's 2 cm isn't it and
20:16 she said yes then she wrote down that my
20:19 scar is 2 cm can you believe it I didn't
20:22 even know that my scar is 2 cm and one
20:24 other thing I forgot to say before they
20:27 even do the the scar test before they
20:29 ask you to show you their scar they want
20:32 to see your nails so I they said put
20:34 your hands on the table I just put my
20:36 hands on the table and I show them my
20:38 nails and then that's when I showed them
20:41 the scarf after that we went back to the
20:44 hall and we were waiting for the results
20:47 they called out names of people again
20:49 this time they said if we call your name
20:51 you've made it to the next stage they
20:53 called and called and called up to the
20:56 end and they didn't call my ID number so
20:58 this was it for me I made it all the way
21:00 way to the scar check so I've always
21:02 told myself I didn't make it because of
21:05 the scar because I don't see any other
21:09 reason I don't see it I don't but I will
21:11 tell you what I know from my research
21:13 about the next stages what goes on in
21:16 the next stages so from here the
21:19 remaining people who made it to the next
21:22 stage they are gathered into groups
21:25 depending how many they are they will be
21:27 maybe groups of four groups of five and
21:29 then they'll be given
21:32 activities questions to say this is the
21:34 problem how would you solve it as a
21:37 group how would you solve this like then
21:38 they will discuss and discuss and they
21:42 will present their answer to the
21:44 recruiters it's not really about the
21:48 answer from what I've learned it's about
21:49 are you able to work in a team they're
21:52 watching who is overstepping others you
21:56 know who is pushy who is not listening
21:58 when others are saying their suggestions
22:01 they want you to they want someone who
22:03 can Embrace others thoughts others
22:05 opinions and you know they discuss it
22:09 from a point of yeah but that's a good
22:11 suggestion but how about we do this what
22:13 do you think of this they want someone
22:15 who's considerate of others if you feel
22:18 like someone's suggestion is not
22:20 something that will work you don't just
22:22 say no I think that's a bad idea I think
22:25 that will definitely never work they
22:27 don't want people who are har and can
22:29 hurt other people's feelings just be
22:32 like man that's a great idea what if we
22:34 do it this way you know so they're
22:36 watching everything it's not about the
22:40 answers about teamwork at this point and
22:44 if you make it from this stage to the
22:46 next one I think the next one is the
22:49 final stage the oneon-one interview
22:52 where they'll be talking to you more on
22:55 a close up oneon-one uh situation asking
22:58 you how do you feel about relocating to
23:00 a different country have you ever worked
23:03 in a different country before do you
23:06 think blah blah blah blah all those
23:08 final interview questions usually they
23:11 ask questions which are maybe even
23:13 similar to the ones they ask you when
23:16 you're handing in your TV but a lot more
23:20 questions remember at this point they
23:23 are really thinking about hiring you
23:27 they want to know if you're suitable on
23:29 every level if you're comfortable able
23:31 like one of the questions is are you
23:33 able to serve alcohol they want to know
23:35 will this person be able to serve
23:37 alcohol if we hire her you know if the
23:40 job requires you to to be able to S
23:43 alcohol to the customers you know
23:45 they're just going deep in there to see
23:47 if you can actually do the job I feel
23:50 like it's not even more of like a a deep
23:54 testing sort of interview at this point
23:56 they're just checking if the things they
23:58 will require you to do can you do them
24:01 them from there on they will make you
24:04 sign some papers I'm not sure what it's
24:08 about but that's pretty much what I
24:10 heard from there on though you still do
24:13 wait for for them to contact you again
24:16 and then they will formalize everything
24:19 if they have hired you if they've
24:23 decided to go with you they will ask you
24:27 for medical tests like you the medical
24:30 tests that you have to go do ask you for
24:33 copies of your passport they will ask
24:36 you for photos like full body photos
24:38 things like that but you don't need to
24:40 worry much about that what you if you're
24:42 watching this video what you need to
24:45 focus on is mainly to just make it
24:47 through the stages and get this job
24:49 because that's really what you want and
24:51 I think everything else that they'll
24:53 require you to do you'll be able to do
24:57 it this is my experience um trying to be
25:01 a flight attendant in Qatar Airways I
25:04 don't know if I will ever try again do
25:06 another try currently they have not been
25:08 coming to our country I don't know when
25:10 they're going to come next there's been
25:13 like just a huge silence that got us
25:15 wondering are they even ever going to
25:18 come back to our country but I feel like
25:20 this is something I'm passionate about
25:23 obviously in life if you really want
25:25 something you have to go for it and you
25:27 only fail the day that you quit on
25:30 something otherwise you can't really say
25:33 that you know I didn't make it because
25:35 what what I could because they're never
25:38 going to hire how do you know you have
25:41 to do your best as long as you can you
25:43 have to keep trying right now though I
25:46 want to focus on my current career and
25:49 teaching um but that's not to say that
25:51 I'll close the door on being a flight
25:54 attendant I really really am passionate
25:57 about this uh this job being a flight
25:59 attendant I really feel like if give him
26:02 the chance one day I will try it out but
26:04 right now I want to focus on what I'm
26:07 doing and I I'm embracing it and I
26:09 really see a good future with it please
26:12 do like this video please leave a
