0:01 I want you to imagine for a moment
0:03 you're driving a brand new Bugatti
0:06 through the sunny streets of Dubai while
0:08 passive income continuously flows into
0:10 your bank account many young YouTubers
0:12 promise that this dream is possible with
0:15 the print on demand side hustle look I
0:17 won't make claims like this I've been
0:19 around a lot longer and from my
0:21 experience if you need Grand promises
0:23 just to listen then you won't succeed
0:26 anyway however I will promise to give
0:28 you a step-by-step guide to star in
0:30 print on demand I'm going to to show you
0:33 exactly where to click and what to do to
0:36 make this business work with 0 you'll
0:38 even learn how to make products like
0:40 this and sell them internationally this
0:42 is coming from someone who hasn't just
0:44 started a few little internet businesses
0:46 and sold a few print on demand items I'm
0:48 An established millionaire businessman
0:50 that's been running companies for over
0:53 35 years so I'll be sharing some of the
0:55 lessons that you can only learn from
0:57 having years of experience I know
0:59 starting a new side hustle seems
1:02 daunting there's so much to learn that's
1:04 why this is the only print on demand for
1:06 beginners video you need to watch before
1:08 you take action right so I'm going to
1:10 split this into 10 different sections to
1:13 make sure to cover absolutely everything
1:16 firstly what is print on demand but
1:18 simply it's a risk-free way of starting
1:20 out in business let's say you wanted to
1:22 start a clothing brand but don't have a
1:24 factory to make thousands of unique
1:26 clothing products nor do you want to end
1:28 up with a basement full of unsold shirts
1:30 like a hoarder that that's where print
1:33 on demand swoops in to save the day
1:34 print on demand allows you to pay for
1:37 your products only after your customers
1:38 order them these products are then
1:40 printed with your Unique Designs and
1:42 delivered directly to your customers
1:44 this allows you to run everything with
1:46 very little money this isn't just
1:49 limited to clothing you can also do mugs
1:52 posters bags and even cushions this side
1:54 hustle is ideal for someone who doesn't
1:56 want the hassle of starting a full-time
1:58 business but wants to earn passive
2:00 income you can work from your laptop and
2:02 as your income scales the time you put
2:03 into the business shouldn't need to
2:06 change significantly isn't it wild how
2:08 these days you can potentially ring
2:10 Millions without even physically
2:12 touching a single product this concept
2:14 would have blown my mind in my day the
2:16 data backs this up as currently the
2:18 global print on demand Market is worth
2:22 nearly $6 billion and that's expected to
2:25 rise to 40 billion by 2031 from my time
2:27 in the business world I've seen
2:29 firsthand how crucial it is to operate
2:32 in the right Market believe me I've seen
2:34 some seriously smart people hit rock
2:36 bottom because they were busy building
2:38 their brand in a market that was on the
2:40 decline but here's where print on demand
2:42 is different even if you're just an
2:44 average Joe in the entrepreneurial world
2:47 you could potentially raking a fortune
2:49 if you dive into a booming market like
2:51 this one to get started you need five
2:55 things one a winning product two a great
2:58 design to go on the product three a
3:01 place to sell the product four a great
3:04 supplier and five of course paying
3:06 customers but don't worry we're going to
3:08 cover all of this today by the way if
3:10 you're new here then I'm Mark and I make
3:13 videos sharing my years of wisdom so
3:15 that you can grow your wealth so if that
3:17 interests you make sure to subscribe to
3:19 get more videos like this one so how do
3:21 I find a winning product this is the
3:23 first question most people ask when
3:25 they're getting into print on demand and
3:27 rightly so because if you get this wrong
3:28 then it could make the difference
3:30 between your store get in hundreds of
3:32 sales and none whatsoever from my
3:34 experience a winning product has two
3:37 main components the product category and
3:39 the design now you might think all of
3:41 these product categories are created
3:44 equal but far from it you need to be
3:46 very strategic about which one you
3:48 decide to use for your blank canvas you
3:50 may be thinking why not just pick all of
3:51 them and use the same design across
3:53 every product now although this may
3:56 sound like a good idea it really isn't
3:58 at first your designs probably aren't
4:00 going to be that great this means you're
4:01 going to waste a ton of time and money
4:03 focusing on different products and not
4:06 getting any sales instead I want you to
4:08 pick one product category and give it
4:10 your entire Focus once you hit over 10K
4:12 per month with that product type then
4:15 you can repurpose the same designs on
4:17 other products in a new shop it's much
4:19 better to become a master of one product
4:21 than a jack of all trades this even
4:24 applies to color options personally I
4:26 never offer more than seven different
4:28 variations as that tends to overwhelm
4:30 the customer and you you know what they
4:32 end up buying nothing so you have a big
4:35 decision to make so let me help you
4:37 eliminate some of the categories cards
4:39 and calendars are a big no from me as
4:41 they're extremely seasonal you want a
4:43 product that's Evergreen and sells
4:45 continuously no matter what the time of
4:49 year mugs iPhone cases oh and stationary
4:52 they don't really sell for very much so
4:53 personally I'd stay away from these my
4:56 role is to have at least 20 to 30%
4:58 profit margin I'm not saying these are a
5:00 definite no because if you're able to
5:02 sell them in large enough quantities
5:04 then you can make a nice profit take
5:06 this shop for example they have the
5:08 number one listing on Etsy when I search
5:11 for mug now if I dig into their figures
5:13 I can actually see that they're
5:16 generating around $30,000 a month from
5:20 this store if we assume a 15% margin
5:23 then they're probably making around what
5:26 4,500 a month in profit which isn't too
5:28 bad at all if they've managed to get a
5:31 30% profit margin then that's even
5:34 better if we're evaluating options based
5:36 purely on potential profit margins then
5:38 clothing and wallart are the clear
5:40 winners in my opinion it's much easier
5:43 to inflate the value of products like
5:44 this it's the same strategy that
5:46 Designer Brands and modern artists have
5:48 been using for years I can actually show
5:51 you some real numbers here now I've sold
5:53 some wall art before using gelato
5:55 honestly I really like gelato because
5:57 they have production facilities in over
6:00 32 countries on this point over 90% of
6:02 orders are produced in the same country
6:04 the customer lives in cutting down
6:06 shipping times even more as you can see
6:15 $49.99 and my costs were
6:18 $25.3 for the product and the printing
6:22 there was also a $698 shipping cost as
6:25 well so if we add those together that
6:28 gives us a price of $32.32 [Music]
6:29 [Music]
6:31 now if we take those numbers and plug
6:35 them into the Etsy free calculator with
6:40 everything taken into account I made
6:43 $12.42 on every sale which gives me a
6:47 25% profit margin on every product as
6:48 you can see it's so easy for your
6:51 profits to be eaten away that's why it's
6:53 so important to pick an item with a high
6:56 profit margin potential as I've already
6:59 spoken about wall art in past videos I
7:01 feel like switching it up so today let's
7:03 go with clothing so what's the best
7:06 Niche to pick it might seem obvious but
7:08 nobody cares about blank clothes that's
7:11 where you come in you need to make them
7:13 care about what you're selling you can
7:15 do this by attaching one of their
7:17 interests to the item so I could just
7:19 make a shirt like this with storm pooper
7:22 on it to attract Star Wars fans that's
7:24 the right kind of idea but it will also
7:25 get you into a lot of trouble with the
7:29 law this is because of one simple word
7:31 trade marks you should always check the
7:33 text for use of potential trademark
7:36 infringements even if it isn't from a
7:38 famous franchise luckily this is free
7:41 too and super simple it's worth checking
7:44 the UK and USA trademarks this is what
7:47 the American Site looks like just click
7:50 on basic word Mark search and then type
7:53 in the phrase I'm going to use
7:56 boomers are awesome and click submit
8:00 change this setting to live there you go
8:02 uh well for this one we look like we're
8:04 in the clear okay so I can't use popular
8:07 films or TV shows I'll just do something
8:09 completely original I like your thinking
8:12 but also no I'm going to say something
8:15 that might shock you don't try to be
8:17 original School drills into the
8:19 importance of not looking at other
8:21 people's work but when it comes to
8:23 business this is completely wrong I have
8:26 a theory that c-grade students often end
8:28 up hiring the people who get the A's
8:29 because of this there's actually a
8:31 really good book that talks about this
8:34 and it's called still like an artist
8:36 it's based on the saying that good
8:39 artists copy and great artist still
8:41 honestly it works just as well for
8:43 entrepreneurs being to original is the
8:45 biggest trap I see beginners falling
8:47 into they feel like they've got to come
8:49 up with the next big thing and then just
8:51 end up trying to sell something nobody
8:53 wants yes you may have spotted a gap in
8:56 the market but most likely that gap's
8:58 there because no one wants what you're
9:01 selling I'd say 99% of people fail at
9:03 this step so here's what you should
9:06 actually do research the market I love
9:08 using Etsy to do this as all the sales
9:11 information is public let's say for this
9:14 example I want to sell t-shirts now
9:16 since the T-shirt Niche is extremely
9:18 competitive we need to find some good
9:21 sub niches these are pockets of the
9:23 market that have low competition but
9:27 very high demand so let's type in
9:31 women's t-shirts and sort this by top
9:34 customer reviews now look ah this is one
9:36 you don't want to be taking inspiration
9:37 from as it's a clear trademark
9:40 infringement of DC Comics and Wonder
9:42 Woman I mean if you're going to risk
9:44 doing this at least pick a decent film
9:46 but seriously don't infringe on anyone's
9:49 trademarks you might get a ton of sales
9:51 to begin with but in the long run it's
9:53 just not worth it when you run into all
9:54 the legal trouble what we're really
9:56 looking for is shops with lots of
9:58 reviews as we can tell from that that
10:00 they're successful now let's click on
10:02 this one as they look like they're doing
10:04 very well now let's go on their shop
10:08 homepage and filter reviews by most
10:10 recent to see what's selling at the
10:12 moment oh I'm not going to lie to you
10:13 even I like the look of a few of these
10:17 designs myself this is a perfect little
10:19 sub Niche you'll then just have to spend
10:20 an hour or so going through
10:22 screenshotting designs that are selling
10:25 well and take elements from all of them
10:27 to put in your design you might think
10:30 this is a really small Market here but
10:34 this t-shirt here has over 130 reviews
10:36 that's important as the normal rule of
10:38 thumb is the times that by 10 and then
10:40 you have the number of sales so this
10:42 seller has sold in the region of 1,300
10:45 of these t-shirts bringing in revenue of $
10:46 $
10:50 43,6 128 when you take shipping into
10:54 account now with a 30% profit margin
10:56 that would be around
11:00 $133,000 in profit from this one design
11:02 so simple designs really do sell well
11:05 and remember you can have loads of these
11:07 as they're pretty easy to make just to
11:09 set the record straight you can't simply
11:12 copy these designs instead think of it
11:14 like making a cocktail you're pulling
11:16 different elements from various sources
11:19 combining proven ingredients so it's
11:21 important to draw inspiration from
11:23 multiple places otherwise you risk
11:25 getting banned so if you're going to
11:28 steal steal from many for instance you
11:31 could pick the font from One Design
11:33 borrow the colors from another and NAB a
11:35 section of a quote from a third Source
11:38 the aim here is to whip up a whole bunch
11:40 of unique designs for your chosen sub
11:43 Niche because let's face it we can't
11:45 always predict what's going to sell like
11:47 crazy so what's the best way to create
11:49 your designs this step is one of the
11:52 biggest roadblocks people face I know so
11:54 many people with great design ideas but
11:56 they don't know how to actually make
11:58 them look good on a computer to be
12:00 honest I used to be one of those people
12:02 but it turns out that it's actually
12:04 super easy even for an old boy like me
12:07 there are four main methods you can use
12:09 firstly you can use a free tool like
12:12 canva so I've got a list of woodwork
12:15 related funny quotes here on chat GPT
12:18 I'm going to go with this one now I'm
12:20 going to take some design elements from
12:22 other products we found earlier like the
12:25 font from this Lis in and the design
12:27 from this other one it's pretty easy to
12:30 get these mocked up on cam and it's also
12:32 a free tool which is even better then I
12:34 just have to click here to download the
12:37 image without a background secondly you
12:39 could actually buy a template or full
12:42 design so if we take this flower t-shirt
12:45 for example and I download the image
12:48 then use the Google search by image
12:51 function then you're quite often able to
12:54 actually buy the original source file
12:55 thirdly and this is one I've actually
12:59 been using a lot recently is AI tools to
13:01 design it for you now I think mid
13:03 journey is the best for this kind of
13:06 thing look it does cost you $10 a month
13:08 to generate designs and also have the
13:10 rights to use the images commercially
13:12 but it's such a great tool and I think
13:14 it's worth it now I'm lucky that my son
13:16 Curtis keeps me up to date with all the
13:20 new AI Tech if I mentioned mid Journey
13:22 to the other old boys down the golf club
13:23 they wouldn't have a clue what I'm on
13:25 about they think I'm halfway to my
13:28 holiday destination it's super easy to
13:30 use you just need to have a free Discord
13:33 account once that's set up go to Mid
13:36 Journey's website and click on Join Beta
13:38 this will connect you to the mid Journey
13:40 server inside Discord you might as well
13:42 join my free Discord group while you're
13:44 in there because there's about 40,000
13:46 people in there that'll help you out
13:48 with everything business and making
13:51 money related and it's completely free
13:54 click on ADD server then me and my
13:56 friends and just give it a name I'm
13:59 going to call mine marks design lines
14:02 now go back to the mid Journey server
14:06 click on the mid Journey bot and add app
14:08 there we go and then pick the server you
14:11 just made so I'm going to click marks
14:14 designs first let's get the settings
14:18 right type forward SL settings and
14:23 you'll get this menu select model 6 and
14:26 stylization high right now type in for
14:29 SL imagine now if we want want to make
14:32 designs like this butterfly t-shirt then
14:36 we would type something like this
14:39 butterflies in the style of Silhouettes
14:42 in a tornado pattern on a white
14:45 background now these look pretty cool I
14:47 actually think the colorful version
14:50 looks nicer this Arrow Circle button
14:52 here will run the same prompt again to
14:55 give me more options but I'm going to
14:57 click V4 which will give me more
15:00 variations like like the fourth version
15:02 once you're happy then upscale the one
15:05 you like by pressing the corresponding U
15:08 button this just makes the design larger
15:10 so that you can use it on your product
15:11 then you can just use a background
15:13 remover to get rid of the white
15:15 background I personally use photor
15:17 room.com finally you can use
15:19 professional designers on websites like
15:21 artwork and Fiverr now I've done this
15:23 before with wall art and I've been
15:25 pretty happy with the results you just
15:27 have to make sure that you're very
15:29 specific with the brief here's a look at
15:31 the brief I gave last time so you can
15:32 just copy and tailor it to fit your
15:34 needs these are all good methods so it
15:37 just depends on your skill set available
15:39 time and budget so now we've got our
15:42 designs what's the best print on demand
15:43 website for beginners this is the site
15:46 you'll use to order your products print
15:48 them and ship them to your customers
15:50 this is an extremely important section
15:52 as picking the wrong print provider will
15:54 result in some of your shipments getting
15:56 lost poor customer service and all
15:58 around massive headaches most YouTubers
16:00 recommend the absolute cheapest sites
16:03 and to be honest I've got a real issue
16:05 with this the reason a lot of them can
16:07 charge crazy low prices is because they
16:09 cut Corners in other areas wait a minute
16:11 I thought you were telling us how we
16:13 could start with $0 now you're telling
16:16 us we got to pay for websites well the
16:18 cool thing about most print on demand
16:20 sites is you only have to pay once
16:22 you've made a sale that way you actually
16:25 don't need any money up front I live my
16:28 life by the saying buy nice or buy twice
16:30 this this essentially means if you go
16:32 with the cheapest option then you'll
16:34 actually end up spending more money in
16:36 the long run as you'll have to take the
16:38 hit for the Lost items and that'll start
16:40 digging into your profits I tested out
16:42 the gelato website for myself recently
16:45 and I've got to say I was super
16:47 impressed the experience was seamless
16:49 with both the product quality and the
16:51 printing quality being excellent just
16:54 look at how great this poster came out I
16:56 only ordered it as a sample but I've
16:58 actually ended up keeping it because I
17:00 like it so much all right so let's jump
17:03 on to gelato and start uploading our
17:05 design so you can see how easy the
17:07 process is so I'm just going to go to
17:10 the menu on the left hand side and
17:14 select product catalog and then select
17:16 men's clothing I'm then going to pick
17:18 T-shirts I think we should be fine with
17:20 the heavyweight unisex crew neck
17:23 t-shirts as I can see that's their
17:25 bestseller and to be honest gelato has a
17:28 very high standard of quality anyway
17:31 it's nearly $2 cheaper than the other
17:33 more premium options and as I said
17:35 earlier it's super important to protect
17:37 your profit margins all right so here's
17:40 what I'm thinking I'm going to go with
17:42 direct to garment for this design now
17:44 don't get me wrong embroidery is pretty
17:46 cool and definitely has that premium
17:50 Vibe but let's be real it's pricier so
17:51 I'd save that for that design that
17:53 screams embroider me and hey if you're
17:55 shelling out the extra bux for
17:57 embroidery make sure it's super obvious
17:59 when you're promoting the product after
18:01 all if you're paying more it should
18:04 seriously ramp up the perceived value of
18:06 your product okay so I'm going to start
18:10 with the white option and size large but
18:12 I'll also repeat the same process with
18:15 seven colors in all sizes now it's as
18:17 simple as dragging and dropping the
18:20 design we made earlier into this Center
18:22 box there's also an option down here
18:24 where you can add different designs to
18:27 the back neck and sleeves but now for
18:29 this one I'm just going to keep it
18:30 simple and do the front if you're
18:32 interested in using them and you want to
18:34 get 50% off your first order then feel
18:37 free to sign up with the link gal.com
18:40 Sark they also give me a kickback if you
18:42 use that link which I pass on to my
18:44 video editors so if you use it then
18:46 thanks for supporting the channel once
18:48 you've got all your designs uploaded in
18:50 their different colors and sizes it's
18:52 time to start selling them but where do
18:54 I sell my products I've got a real
18:56 problem with how most YouTube channels
18:59 approach this question with one answer
19:03 they'll either say Etsy or Shopify but
19:05 it really isn't that simple I'm not
19:07 interested in rushing through this video
19:10 to get a little bit of extra attention I
19:11 know if you got to this part in the
19:13 video then you want to know the facts
19:15 before you jump into something so let's
19:17 go through both of these options so you
19:19 can decide which is the best route for
19:21 you or route for all you American
19:24 viewers firstly let's talk Etsy if we
19:27 look at the figures from February 2023
19:30 we can see that Etsy had
19:33 46.6 million visitors that's by far the
19:35 most out of every print on demand
19:37 Marketplace and that even includes
19:42 Shopify in 2022 26% of sales were made
19:45 to order merch in other words a lot of
19:48 print on demand items and 45% of sales
19:51 involved in international transaction
19:53 this means that Etsy gives you access to
19:56 a global audience of Shoppers a lot of
19:58 people commented on one of my previous
20:01 videos mentioning that I'd Overlook the
20:03 marketing cost but I didn't that's the
20:06 advantage of marketplaces like Etsy the
20:08 customers are already there searching
20:11 for these kinds of things all you need
20:13 to do is rank high enough in the search
20:15 results but it isn't all sunshine and
20:18 rainbows lots of people H up print on
20:20 demand on Etsy but more people fail than
20:23 succeed that's just the harsh truth Etsy
20:25 don't reveal the percentage of shops
20:27 that actually succeed but they have
20:29 revealed that there are five .4 million
20:32 active Sellers and the average monthly
20:36 sales per user was
20:37 $2,169 in
20:40 2022 but of course these figures are
20:42 heavily skewed by the more successful
20:44 and established shops in my opinion the
20:47 reason for people failing on Etsy is
20:48 that lots of folks just go with their
20:51 gut selling whatever they fancy instead
20:53 of really studying the market like I've
20:56 shown you in this video but if you stick
20:57 to the system I've taught you you'll
20:59 have a ser serious leg up on the
21:02 competition now for Shopify customer
21:04 data is one of the most valuable things
21:06 in business a general rule of thumb is
21:08 that a customer's email is worth about
21:11 $1 a month to a business as they can use
21:13 it for advertising to a previous buyer
21:15 as Shopify isn't a shared Marketplace
21:17 and instead is your own website they
21:19 allow you to collect this valuable
21:21 information whereas Etsy doesn't have an
21:23 option to do this legally you see
21:25 someone has to agree to be on your email
21:28 list so yes you can just download the
21:30 email from your Etsy customers but you
21:32 can't really get away with adding them
21:34 to your email list without facing some
21:36 issues not only is it against etsy's
21:38 policies it's also illegal in many
21:40 countries selling on Shopify also allows
21:42 you to set yourself apart from the
21:45 competition the bad thing about Etsy is
21:47 that your products are always surrounded
21:49 by your competitors so you're somewhat
21:51 forced to compete on price it's kind of
21:53 like this YouTube channel you've
21:55 probably got tons of other print on
21:58 demand videos recommended in the sidebar
21:59 I know I don't have to worry about you
22:01 clicking off my video though because
22:03 it's the best one imagine this you're
22:06 scrolling through YouTube but all you're
22:08 seeing are my videos it's either stick
22:11 with me or don't learn anything at all
22:13 it's kind of like having a Shopify store
22:16 if a customer wants what you're selling
22:17 they can't go off and buy it from anyone
22:19 else you've got them right where you
22:21 want them so Shopify sounds like the
22:25 clear winner right well no here's what I
22:26 suggest when you're starting out as a
22:29 beginner it's best to go with ETS see
22:31 the customer already there which means
22:33 you don't have to worry about marketing
22:35 all you have to focus on is getting
22:38 better and better at designing products
22:40 people want to buy the competition
22:42 aspect is actually very good for honing
22:45 your skills as the market doesn't lie if
22:47 your product designs aren't good enough
22:49 then you won't make any sales this will
22:51 force you to find unique gaps in the
22:54 market and level up as an entrepreneur
22:55 you can also easily connect it with
22:59 gelato by going to menu and stores don't
23:01 get me wrong the end game should be
23:03 Shopify however before you start
23:05 spending crazy amounts of money on
23:07 marketing for products you don't even
23:10 know sell I recommend you post 1,000
23:12 listings on Etsy this will set you back
23:15 about 20 cents per listing which will be
23:18 a total of $200 but the data you gather
23:20 will be worth far more once you've
23:23 identified your winning products you can
23:25 start building a Shopify store and
23:27 advertising on Tik Tok that way you'll
23:29 know if your product aren't selling on
23:32 Shopify then your marketing needs work
23:34 if you just skip the Etsy step then the
23:37 issue could also be your product and
23:38 then it's hard to tell what needs
23:41 improving think of etsy a bit like a
23:43 testing ground where you can cast as
23:45 many fishing lines as possible into the
23:48 ocean and when you start catching some
23:50 big fish you know it's time to take the
23:53 next step so how do beginnner sell on
23:55 Etsy once you've created an account
23:57 there are three hacks that you can do to
23:59 help you get notice on on Etsy and make
24:02 more sales the first hack is to make
24:04 attractive mockups this is super
24:05 important as people want to see what
24:08 your item looks like in the real world
24:10 and mockups are an easy way for you to
24:12 show them without having to order all
24:14 the different colors and designs and
24:16 taking photos mockups also seem to make
24:19 the product look much more homemade
24:21 which instantly makes it seem more
24:23 valuable to customers gato's built-in
24:26 mockup Studio actually makes this super
24:29 simple now this one here there you go
24:31 that looks pretty good so let's go with
24:34 that the second hack is to use the best
24:37 keywords this is extremely effective as
24:40 Etsy is a search engine so the more
24:41 information you can give them about your
24:43 product the better of course you
24:45 shouldn't use keywords that don't apply
24:47 to your product is you only want traffic
24:49 from people that are interested in
24:51 buying what you're selling this is
24:53 pretty simple to do so let's go back to
24:56 the listing we found to inspire our
24:58 t-shirt design as we can see they've
25:03 used wood shirt men woodworker shirt
25:06 men's funny shirt funny shirts for men
25:09 and Father's Day gift and Dad's shirt so
25:11 I'll just copy and paste these keywords
25:14 into my tags and title it's also worth
25:16 looking around for different listings in
25:18 case some of them have other unique
25:20 keywords you can copy the third hack is
25:23 to use premium branding you need to
25:26 convey quality and Trust now trust is
25:28 the most important thing in business and
25:29 you're not going to get there by looking
25:32 like a shop at the local market you need
25:35 to go for that premium Boutique fill
25:37 this is a great example of a premium
25:40 store with a clear identity you can use
25:42 the free Shopify name generator to
25:44 create a name that conveys trust and is
25:47 relevant to your shop then use the name
25:49 Checker website to see if it's available
25:51 across different platforms the most
25:54 crucial platform is Etsy but you should
25:56 also check it it's free on other social
25:59 media platforms and for the dename name
26:01 availability when creating your logo and
26:02 banner don't spend too much time
26:05 perfecting it instead focus on making it
26:08 clean and professional canva offers
26:10 numerous templates that can be helpful
26:13 the key to a good Etsy Banner is to make
26:16 it reflect the charm of homemade Goods
26:18 which corporate banners often lack
26:20 lastly make sure your shop isn't
26:22 targeting a completely different
26:24 audience I mean you wouldn't expect to
26:26 walk into an Apple store and see a
26:29 washing machine even though they could
26:31 sell them they understand the importance
26:35 of maintaining a coherent brand image if
26:37 you want to make sales quickly then
26:39 you're probably thinking when should I
26:41 run paid ads I understand the appeal of
26:43 running paid ads as they can instantly
26:46 give your Sal a boost however in my
26:49 opinion people start using paid ads well
26:51 before they're actually ready this means
26:54 they ever end up with no sales or as
26:56 soon as they turn paid ads off their
26:58 sales completely dry up I've always
27:00 Built My businesses with an organic
27:02 first approach we're living in an age of
27:05 more free reach than ever before and I
27:08 actually think social media companies
27:09 are going to start limiting organic
27:12 reach soon as they must be losing out on
27:14 millions of advertising dollars the
27:15 first thing you need to put your
27:18 marketing money into is creating short
27:20 form content this is great as you can
27:23 post it across Instagram Tik Tok YouTube
27:26 shorts it's the first type of content
27:28 that enables you to reach multiple
27:30 different platforms and it's perfect for
27:32 showing off your products you'd need to
27:35 order a few samples which I'd recommend
27:37 doing anyway as you need to double check
27:39 the quality of the items that you're
27:40 sending out then it's just a case of
27:42 creating some kind of story around your
27:45 product don't just get fancy shots of
27:48 someone wearing it or using it actually
27:50 make it a part of a story remember
27:52 people are on social media to be
27:54 entertained so if your content isn't
27:57 entertaining then it won't reach as many
27:59 people the more view you get the more
28:01 people will buy it's as simple as that
28:03 the beauty of doing it this way is that
28:06 you're able to see what videos perform
28:08 best with your target audience before
28:10 putting any AD spend into boosting the
28:12 views once you're seeing some organic
28:15 success it's time to start supercharging
28:17 it with some paid ads this way you're
28:19 building your side hustle on solid
28:21 foundations I've seen so many people
28:23 lose their Facebook ad accounts and it's
28:25 just ruined their businesses these
28:27 platforms don't have enough employees to
28:29 oversee everything everything so they
28:31 rely on Tech to police it for them don't
28:34 leave your income in the hands of AI but
28:36 that's not the biggest thing people do
28:39 wrong so what's the most common mistake
28:41 a lot of people get drawn in by the huge
28:44 figures many people say they're making
28:46 with print on demand but it's important
28:48 to remember anyone can sell at break
28:50 even or even a loss I have a feeling a
28:52 lot of these print on demand gurus and
28:55 drop shippers actually do this they just
28:57 make a loss on their products and then
29:00 Flex their Revenue figures on YouTube to
29:02 young and impressionable people don't
29:04 make the mistake of focusing on the
29:07 revenue you're generating this is a
29:08 profit game and it's important to
29:11 remember that your profit margins are
29:13 everything and you should be protecting
29:15 them at all costs I used to sell a lot
29:18 of items on Ebay I remember having one
29:20 competitor in particular who' always
29:23 tried to undercut me on price instead of
29:25 competing I'd wait until he sold out
29:28 then I'd continue to sell my products at
29:30 my normal price the surprising thing is
29:33 most of the time my competitor only made
29:35 5% profit margin whenever I saw him at
29:37 trade shows he would laugh thinking it
29:40 driven me out of the market I just smile
29:42 to myself as I still have my 30% profit
29:45 margins and I was making bang the same
29:48 applies with any business don't let your
29:50 ego get in the way you don't have to be
29:52 ranked number one to make money as long
29:54 as your profit margins are strong you
29:56 could be making more money than the top
29:58 sellers if you're choosing the Etsy
30:01 route this is even more crucial due to
30:05 the associated fees Etsy charges 6.5%
30:08 transaction fee on both the price and
30:10 the shipping fee when the item sells as
30:13 well as a 3% payment processing fee on
30:16 the total amount charged to the customer
30:18 here's a little secret that not a lot of
30:20 people know about you might be hit with
30:23 a 15% advertising fee if a customer
30:25 stumbles upon your product through an
30:28 Etsy ad from outside the platform sure
30:31 you can opt out but honestly it's not a
30:33 bad deal as long as you're clued in and
30:36 Factor it into your cost and hey don't
30:38 forget about your time it isn't free you
30:41 know it's a shame but loads of people
30:43 seem to forget to Value their own time I
30:45 mean if they were to do the math and
30:47 figure out their hourly earnings they
30:49 might be shocked to find out they're
30:51 making less than minimum wage now at a
30:53 start you're probably going to have to
30:55 hustle a bit more and earn a little bit
30:57 less that's understandable but just keep
31:00 a close eye on the profits you're making
31:02 every so often divide your monthly
31:04 profit by the hours you've put in this
31:06 will give you a pretty good picture of
31:07 whether your side hustle is on the right
31:09 track or not but now it's time for the
31:12 big question can I really make money
31:14 with print on demand or is it too
31:17 saturated right so I need to address a
31:19 negative comment I received about this
31:22 on my last print on demand video Mark be
31:24 honest about the content of your Vlogs
31:26 tell people how saturated the markets
31:28 are and stop giving them false Solutions
31:31 the world of side hustles are over
31:33 there's no such thing as a quick Buck
31:35 first of all I want to say thanks for
31:37 taking the time to comment I really
31:39 appreciate when you guys leave comments
31:41 I love reading your opinions and love to
31:43 hear about all your success as well
31:45 although there are a couple of things I
31:47 disagree with which we'll get into a bit
31:50 later there is one thing I agree with so
31:52 I want to start with that there's never
31:54 been a trer word spoken then there's no
31:57 such thing as a quick bug I know this
31:59 more than most I started as a relatively
32:02 poor kid with no qualifications and it
32:04 took me years of Blood Sweat and Tears
32:06 to get where I am today no part of my
32:08 journey was easy or quick that's just
32:11 the reality of life however if someone
32:13 told me how hard it was going to be I'd
32:15 probably wouldn't have even started in
32:18 my opinion it's much better to focus on
32:20 the positives than the inevitable late
32:23 nights and hard work maybe I should get
32:25 that across more in my video so I'll
32:27 take that point on board now as for the
32:30 market being saturated what a load of
32:32 nonsense it's hard to break into any
32:35 Market you've either got to be better or
32:37 different in some way yes there's a lot
32:39 of people doing it however the market is
32:42 only growing most people that say the
32:44 markets are too saturated probably a't
32:46 put in the hard work brace yourself
32:48 there's going to be a little bit of a
32:50 rough patch sales might take a while to
32:52 kick in but you've got to stick with it
32:54 don't do all the hard graph and miss out
32:56 on the big payoff you'll have to
32:58 gradually chip away way to carve your
33:01 own spot in the market and yeah this
33:03 could mean a few months without any
33:05 sales but don't let that get you down
33:08 just keep going and Trust the journey if
33:10 you haven't listed at least a thousand
33:12 different products then don't come back
33:14 saying the market is saturated the truth
33:16 is you've probably not put in enough
33:18 time yet and the more you work on your
33:21 skills the better you'll get as for side
33:23 hustles being dead that's like saying
33:26 businesses are dead if you want actual
33:28 proof that side hustles Aren't Dead then
33:30 you should watch this next video as I
33:32 share seven real stories about students
