0:01 Thanks to Hypert for sponsoring this
0:03 video. I've been cleaning professionally
0:06 now for 20 years. And along with that
0:08 means that I've tested and tried out a
0:11 variety of cleaning tools and products
0:13 now. Some of them are total game
0:16 changers and I will use forever. Well,
0:18 the others not so much. So, let me show
0:20 you the ones that are actually worth
0:22 your money. The first thing is to invest
0:25 in some high quality cleaning towels.
0:27 Now, if you've watched my videos before,
0:29 you already know that I love to clean
0:31 with microfiber towels. I just feel like
0:34 microfiber does a better job of lifting
0:35 things like grease and grime and dirt
0:37 off of the surface that you're cleaning.
0:39 And I just love that you can also use
0:41 these towels after you're done cleaning
0:43 all the grime off to come through and
0:45 buff and shine up the surfaces and just
0:47 leave them looking pristine. Now,
0:49 another really good thing about high
0:52 quality towels is that I feel like you
0:54 can clean more with just one towel. So
0:55 that way you don't have to be using
0:57 multiples and it just helps you clean
0:59 faster. Another advantage is that the
1:02 towels themselves last longer. There is
1:05 nothing worse than using cheap towels to
1:07 clean because a they don't do a very
1:10 good job. B they like to leave lint all
1:11 over the surfaces that you're clean,
1:13 which if you ask me kind of defeats the
1:14 purpose of cleaning in the first place
1:16 if you have to go back and wipe down or
1:18 clean the surface again. And then the
1:20 third thing is they get holes in them,
1:21 they break down, they just don't last as
1:23 long. So then you have to buy new towels
1:25 more often. Now, if you're watching this
1:27 video and you're like, Brandon, I cannot
1:29 stand the feeling of microfiber on my
1:31 skin, especially if you have dry hands.
1:33 It's kind of the worst. I totally get
1:35 it. Now, a quick pro tip for that that I
1:37 like to use is I always clean with my
1:40 green gloves. So, by using gloves, you
1:41 don't feel that texture on your skin and
1:43 it's just easier to work with these
1:45 towels. If you're just like, I just hate
1:48 microfiber completely, that's okay.
1:49 There are a few other towels I like to
1:51 recommend. The first is this blue towel
1:53 here called a Huck cloth. Sometimes
1:54 they're even called like medical or
1:57 surgical cloths, but these are a great
1:58 all-around cleaning towel. These are
2:00 actually very popular amongst like
2:02 window cleaners because they do a good
2:03 job cleaning glass. I just feel like
2:05 they work pretty much on all surfaces.
2:07 The other nice thing is they're very
2:09 soft to the touch. Now, this towel is
2:11 pretty well loved as you can see here,
2:12 but it's kind of fraying on the edges,
2:15 but this is old and I've cleaned so much
2:17 with these towels and they just hold up
2:18 and they last. And that's really what
2:19 you're looking for when you're trying to
2:22 find a high quality towel. The second is
2:24 just a quality white terry cloth. Now,
2:25 these towels do a good job. They're
2:27 pretty much allpurpose as well, just
2:29 like these. However, you do want to look
2:31 out for a few things. First, make sure
2:33 they're white because any ones that have
2:35 dye or color added to them. If you use
2:37 the wrong cleaners, sometimes that dye
2:39 can transfer to what you're cleaning or
2:41 can start to bleed, and we don't want
2:42 that. The second is make sure they're
2:44 not super thin because the really thin
2:47 terry cloths just don't clean very well.
2:48 And again, they're just going to break
2:49 down faster and you're going to have to
2:51 use more. The other thing is when you
2:53 buy a high quality terry cloth, it's not
2:55 going to leave a ton of lint behind. The
2:57 cheaper ones just like to shed and just
2:59 make a bigger mess. So, no matter what
3:01 towels that you choose to use, just
3:04 remember, buy high quality ones because
3:06 it will make your cleaning faster and
3:08 easier. The next thing is to stop buying
3:10 cheap spray bottles. Now, this is
3:12 actually something I wish I could go
3:14 back in time and tell myself early on in
3:16 my cleaning career because I really
3:18 didn't think it mattered. I would just
3:19 go to the dollar store and buy the
3:21 cheapest ones I could find. And yes,
3:23 they would work for a little while.
3:25 However, what always happened is they
3:27 would break. Whether it's the nozzles
3:28 just not spraying well and getting
3:30 clogged or even the triggers breaking on
3:33 me. And the worst of all is that they
3:35 would start to leak over time and that
3:37 would just make a bigger mess while I
3:38 was cleaning. So, I decided one day that
3:40 I'm just going to spend some money on
3:43 some nice spray bottles. And boy, did it
3:45 make a difference. Now, for instance,
3:46 the ones I've been using lately are
3:48 these here from Ecoab. These are
3:50 awesome. They do a really good job. You
3:51 can get these at Home Depot. I think
3:54 they're like $4, which again, in the
3:55 grand scheme of things, from the dollar
3:57 store ones that are about a dollar to
3:59 these, it's really not that big of a
4:01 jump, but the difference is night and
4:05 day. These ones last way longer. I've
4:06 had this one since they launched these
4:08 at Home Depot and it just keeps
4:10 spraying. The other really nice thing is
4:11 you'll notice here it's kind of starting
4:12 to wear away on me a little bit, but
4:15 that it's chemical resistant. Now, that
4:18 is huge because the cheap ones usually
4:19 are not chemical resistant. So, what
4:21 that means if you put something in there
4:22 like vinegar, it's very acidic. It's
4:24 going to break down all the internal
4:26 components and it's not going to spray
4:27 as well and unfortunately over time it's
4:29 going to start to leak, which was kind
4:31 of happening to me. So, these are
4:32 chemical resistant. That's not going to
4:35 happen. The triggers and the nozzles are
4:37 super heavy duty, so they just last
4:39 longer. And I've even dropped this thing
4:41 a few times. And thankfully, it's still
4:43 working great. So, just spend the few
4:45 extra dollars, buy a highquality spray
4:47 bottle. You won't regret it. As I
4:48 mentioned at the start, today's video is
4:51 sponsored by Hypert. Hypert makes
4:53 durable, reliable, and budget friendly
4:56 tools to really help you tackle any job
4:59 around your house. They actually just
5:01 released this vacuum right here. It is a
5:04 1.5gal wet dry vac. And this little
5:07 machine is a workhorse. It's super
5:09 compact, lightweight, and completely
5:11 cordless, which I love because that
5:12 means you don't have to search for an
5:15 outlet to clean up a mess. It's also
5:17 powered by the Hypert 20 volt max
5:19 battery, which is included along with a
5:22 charger in the box. It even has a
5:24 brushless motor for longer life and
5:25 better suction. And the built-in storage
5:28 for the hose and all the attachments is
5:29 great because everything stays neat and
5:31 is ready to go for the next time you
5:33 need it. Now, when HyperTuff reached
5:35 out, I was very intrigued by this vacuum
5:37 because I love a cleaning tool that's
5:39 just all self-contained like this one
5:41 and ready to go. I've been using this in
5:43 areas like my car. It's been working
5:45 great for crumbs and things in there.
5:47 Also, in my garage for like sawdust or
5:48 whatever else you have in your garage
5:49 that you don't necessarily want to bring
5:52 your indoor vacuum outside. I also just
5:55 love this for any sort of spill as well.
5:57 It's just nice to have a wet dry vac
5:59 easily available that you can go grab
6:01 and pick up when a mess happens and you
6:03 just don't want to go grab a big bulky
6:04 vacuum. So, if you're looking for an
6:06 affordable, compact, and easy to use
6:08 little wet dry vac, definitely give this
6:10 one a try. They're actually available
6:13 now at Walmart or I'll put a link down
6:14 in the description below for you to
6:15 check out. And thanks so much again to
6:18 HyperTuff for sponsoring this video. The
6:20 next thing is Scrub Daddy and Scrub
6:22 Mommy sponges. Now, I'm gonna be real
6:24 with you. The first time that I saw a
6:26 Scrub Daddy in the grocery store, I just
6:28 thought it was a massive gimmick. Yes,
6:30 it's a cute smiling sponge, but does it
6:32 really clean better? Is it really worth
6:34 the extra few dollars? And I bought one
6:36 cuz I'm like, you know what? I'm going
6:37 to try it. I saw it on Shark Tank. I'm
6:39 just at least give it a try and see if
6:42 it's really worth the hype. And yes, it
6:44 is. It legit is. I personally feel it is
6:47 because it just is so versatile. Now,
6:48 both of them are made out of something
6:50 called flex texture. And essentially
6:52 what that means is when you get it cold
6:54 under some cold water, it stays firm and
6:56 hard just to give you a little extra
6:58 scrubbing power. But then when you run
6:59 it under some warm water and really heat
7:02 up the sponge, it softens. It gets more
7:04 squishy, if you will. And so it's much
7:06 more gentle and kind of moldable, so you
7:08 can get into all sorts of cracks and
7:10 crevices while you're scrubbing. Now,
7:11 both of these work great like in your
7:13 kitchen sink to clean your dishes and
7:15 things. But I found just in general
7:17 cleaning around the house, I absolutely
7:19 love these because they're also
7:21 non-scratch. And being able to warm them
7:23 up in a little bit of water there and
7:24 just even soften them up, I can get them
7:26 even more gentle so I'm not going to
7:29 cause damage to anything I'm cleaning.
7:31 For instance, early on in my cleaning
7:33 career, I had one of those green and
7:35 yellow sponges in my cleaning kit and I
7:38 just was not thinking whatsoever and I
7:40 grabbed it and I scrubbed a mirror. So
7:42 stupid because you know what happened,
7:43 right? It just scratched the living
7:45 daylights out of the mirror. And ever
7:47 since then, I pretty much never kept a
7:49 scratching sponge in my cleaning kit
7:51 just because I didn't even want to have
7:54 the option to grab on accident and cause
7:56 damage. And what's so nice is Scrub
7:58 Daddy sponges are not going to cause
7:59 that damage. That's why I keep them in
8:01 all of my cleaning kits because I know
8:02 they're safe and I can just use them
8:04 whenever I need them. Now, a question I
8:06 get all the time is, "What one do you
8:08 prefer?" Usually, the Scrub Mommy is
8:09 always in my kitchen sink. I just feel
8:11 like it's a little more versatile in the
8:13 kitchen because it also has a foam side
8:15 that comes in super handy. And I always
8:17 keep a Scrub Daddy in my cleaning kit.
8:20 Next up is a drill brush scrubber. And
8:22 in my experience, these are so worth it
8:23 because it really speeds up your
8:26 cleaning process. It makes it easier.
8:28 And really, my favorite part is it saves
8:30 my body because I don't have to do so
8:32 much manual scrubbing because when I
8:34 scrub a ton, it really hurts my shoulder
8:36 and my lower back. And when you use
8:38 these, you don't have that. You can use
8:40 these on things like your shower, your
8:42 tubs, your floors. I've even used them
8:43 on walls at times if they're really
8:45 dirty or even appliances that were full
8:48 of grease and grime. Really, anywhere
8:50 that needs a good scrub and you don't
8:52 want to do it by hand, you could use a
8:54 drill brush scrubber. I will say though,
8:55 you want to make sure that you have the
8:58 proper bristle brush for the job. For
8:59 instance, if it's something super
9:01 delicate and you don't want to cause
9:03 damage or scratch it, you want something
9:05 nice and soft. However, sometimes you
9:07 got something that's very dirty and it's
9:09 on a surface like let's say cement, you
9:11 want this thick, stiff brushes. That way
9:13 you can really cut through the grime or
9:14 whatever it is you're trying to clean.
9:16 There are a variety of these on the
9:18 market. It feels like every day when I
9:20 open up Tik Tok shop or Amazon, there's
9:23 a new one. And a lot of those, in my
9:25 experience, are underpowered. So, they
9:27 can't cut through all the grease and
9:29 grime and it just defeats the purpose of
9:31 using one in the first place. Now, the
9:33 two that I highly recommend, this one
9:36 here first is from Robi. It is a great
9:37 unit. You can change out the heads here
9:40 to get various stiffness bristles. It's
9:41 also battery powered, which I love. And
9:44 the whole thing is waterproof, which is
9:46 extremely handy when you're cleaning
9:47 because things get wet and you won't
9:49 damage the unit and it just keeps
9:50 running great. I mean, I've had this
9:53 thing for years and it keeps scrubbing.
9:55 Now, if you don't want to buy a specific
9:57 unit like this, that's okay. You could
9:58 also go over to Amazon and just get
10:00 yourself a drill brush cleaning kit
10:03 here. These work just as well. The only
10:04 thing to remember though is you do need
10:07 a drill obviously to power it, so you'll
10:08 have to get one of these and it's not
10:10 waterproof. So, you just need to be a
10:12 little more careful, but I'll put links
10:13 to both of these down in the description
10:16 below. Definitely check them out. I
10:17 highly recommend investing in one
10:19 because it will level up your clean. The
10:22 next thing is to invest in good gloves.
10:23 Now, these ones here are from Glove
10:25 Works. I absolutely love these and have
10:27 been using them for years and years. I
10:29 will say they're more expensive than
10:31 most gloves, but the reason I like them
10:34 so much is they really last a long time,
10:36 so you don't have to use as many, and
10:39 they also don't rip and tear easily.
10:40 There is nothing worse than when you're
10:42 cleaning and you look down at your hands
10:44 and all of a sudden you have a rip or a
10:46 tear in your gloves and now you're
10:47 exposed to that nastiness you were just
10:50 cleaning and it's just it's gross. These
10:52 also have a nice texture to them that I
10:53 really like and it helps you just kind
10:55 of hold on to anything that's wet in
10:56 your hands, whether it's your cleaning
10:58 tools or your scrubbers. Definitely give
11:00 these ones a try and let me know what
11:02 you think. The last thing is super quick
11:05 and simple and that is invest in a razor
11:06 blade scraper. Now, I know these aren't
11:08 super expensive and it's by no means
11:10 groundbreaking, but having one of these
11:12 in your cleaning kit always comes in
11:14 handy in my experience. You can use this
11:16 to scrape things like soap scum from
11:18 your shower or tub or even burnt on food
11:21 from your oven. Really, a razor blade is
11:23 so efficient because it can get
11:24 underneath the grime that you're trying
11:27 to clean and lift it from the surface. I
11:28 do like to mention a few tips when it
11:30 comes to using a razor blade scraper,
11:32 and I feel like I've said this a million
11:34 times, but it's so important because I
11:36 don't want to see you scratch anything
11:38 while you use it. The first, always use
11:40 a fresh new blade. If your blade is old
11:43 and rusty, it will scratch. The second
11:45 thing is to make sure to lubricate the
11:46 surface with some cleaner to spray it
11:49 down and then scrape because if you
11:51 don't, the blade won't glide easily
11:53 across the surface and you could gouge
11:55 or scratch it. Now, the third thing and
11:58 really the most important thing is to go
12:00 slow and don't press too hard. Let the
12:02 blade do the work. And there you have
12:04 it. Those are just a few of the things
12:07 that I think is worth your investment to
12:09 help level up your clean. Now, if you
12:10 have anything that you love to use,
12:12 definitely drop a comment down below.
12:14 I'd love to hear it. I also need to give
12:16 a huge shout out to the Clean Squad
12:18 members over on our Patreon. If you want
12:19 to join us over there and get things
12:21 like downloadable PDF cleaning guides,
12:23 cleaning checklists, or your name
12:24 credited down below, definitely check
12:26 the link in the description. And as
