0:04 of interning at the big four, Deoid,

0:10 it completely changes your career. You
0:12 learn from the best, work with global
0:14 clients and build a resume that opens
0:17 doors everywhere. But here's the truth.
0:19 Getting a big four internship is not
0:22 easy. Like at KPMG, only 5% of
0:24 applications secure summer internships.
0:27 So in this video I will tell you exactly
0:29 how to get an internship at the big four
0:31 step by step whether you are from tech
0:33 background or non tech. This guide will
0:35 help you understand the process the
0:37 preparation and how you can stand out
0:40 from thousands of applications.
0:42 Here I will cover the types of
0:44 internship at the big four how you can
0:46 apply for big four internships their
0:48 hiring process and internship tips from
0:50 the big four companies. Firstly let's
0:51 look at the kinds of internship roles
0:54 you can apply for. So there are broadly
0:56 six areas at the big four. First, audit
0:58 and assurance internships which are
0:59 perfect for you if you are studying
1:01 accounting, finance or commerce. Here
1:03 you will help review financial
1:05 statements and ensure compliance. Then
1:07 tax internships which are a great fit
1:09 for recent CAS and students pursuing
1:11 finance, taxation or law. Here you will
1:13 work on preparing tax returns and
1:15 advising clients on planning strategies.
1:17 Third is advisory or consulting
1:18 internships. This is one of the most
1:20 sought after internship role at big
1:22 force because students from any
1:24 background be it business, engineering,
1:26 economics can apply. Here you will work
1:28 on business strategy, risk management,
1:30 tech implementation and more. Then
1:31 financial advisory internship. If you
1:33 have a strong background in finance,
1:35 economics, commerce or maths, you can
1:37 intern with the big four financial
1:38 advisory department. You will assess
1:40 financial risk support mergers and
1:42 acquisitions. Then technology and data
1:44 analytics internships. If you are an
1:46 engineering student or are passionate
1:48 about technology then you can apply for
1:49 tech internships at the big four and
1:51 support digital transformation for the
1:53 clients. Then sixth is internal form
1:55 services internships. Finally there are
1:57 internships in the internal firm
1:58 services or business support service
2:00 department. Here you will support
2:02 business functions like HR, marketing,
2:04 finance or admin. These internships are
2:06 great for you if you are from a non-
2:07 techch background and want to understand
2:09 how these companies operate from the
2:11 inside. So how to actually apply for
2:12 these internships? Then there are three
2:14 primary ways to do that. On-ampus
2:16 recruitment, applying via their career
2:18 page and applying via internal. For most
2:19 students, campus placement are the
2:21 easiest route to land an internship at
2:23 the at a big four. These firms regularly
2:25 visit top B schools, engineering
2:28 colleges and commerce colleges like IIT,
2:31 IM, SRCC, NIMJI to hire interns. They
2:33 hire MBA students for consulting or
2:35 advisory roles, BEX students for tech
2:37 consulting, BCOM or CAS students for
2:39 audit or tax roles. And these stipens
2:41 are quite competitive too, ranging from
2:44 25,000 to 50,000 per month. Your college
2:45 placement cell will let you know when
2:47 the big four are visiting and guide you
2:49 through the application process. Usually
2:50 the companies conduct a pre-placement
2:52 talk to tell you more about the firm,
2:54 their services, the roles and their
2:55 culture. Each big four firm has a
2:57 dedicated career section on its India
2:59 website and all the current internships
3:01 are listed there. You can also easily
3:02 filter your internship search by
3:04 location and job category. So the steps
3:06 are that you have to visit the career
3:07 page and select the internship you want
3:09 to apply for. Then you have to read the
3:10 description carefully and click on apply
3:13 now and then create your account to the
3:14 application form and then you will fill
3:16 out the application form and upload your
3:18 resume. Once you have filled out the
3:19 form, the HR team of the big four
3:21 companies will contact you for the next
3:23 steps. I will tell you in detail about
3:25 the intern hiring process at these firms
3:27 in the ne next section. All the big four
3:29 companies also regularly post their
3:30 internship requirements on intern shala
3:32 and actively hire interns from the
3:34 platform for a variety of roles like
3:36 training auditor, consulting intern,
3:38 marketing research intern or software
3:40 development intern, HR intern and also
3:42 digital marketing intern. There are so
3:44 many internships available. All you have
3:45 to do is simply visit the internal
3:47 platform and browse through the before
3:49 internships. So what happens after you
3:50 submit the application? So if you get
3:52 shortlisted, the HR team will get in
3:54 touch with you for the next steps. Now
3:57 what exactly are these next steps? These
3:59 steps usually differ slightly from
4:01 company to company but there are broadly
4:03 three rounds in big four hiring process
4:05 that is application assessment and
4:07 interviews. I have already covered the
4:08 application process. Now let's proceed
4:11 to the round two that is assessments.
4:12 Regardless of which big four company you
4:15 are applying for be it deoid or PWC
4:17 students are invited for an online
4:19 assessment. Deote and EI specifically
4:21 mention that the assessments will vary
4:23 based on a role you have applied for.
4:25 For a non- techch role, it is usually an
4:27 aptitude test consisting quantitative
4:29 aptitude, logical reasoning, and verbal
4:31 ability. And if you are applying for a
4:32 software development internship, the
4:34 assessment also includes a coding
4:37 section with MCQs and coding problems.
4:38 And once you clear the assessment, you
4:40 will proceed to the next round. If
4:41 you're applying for deoid or KPMG
4:43 internships through campus placements,
4:45 the hiring team will conduct a group
4:46 discussion on general topics related to
4:49 current affairs. EY and PWC generally
4:50 don't conduct a group discussion round
4:53 and move straight away to interviews.
4:55 The interview rounds depend heavily on
4:56 the role you are applying for. For
4:58 example, Deoid conducts four interview
5:00 rounds even when hiring for an
5:02 internship roles. KPMG and EY on the
5:04 other hand conducts two interviews only.
5:06 For consulting internships, usually
5:08 there are multiple case study interviews
5:09 where you are given a real-time scenario
5:11 or a business case and you have to give
5:12 recommendation for the problem
5:14 statements. Deoid also asked
5:16 gueststimate questions during these case
5:18 interviews for management and consulting
5:20 internship propositions. Gueststimate
5:22 questions are those where you are asked
5:25 to guess the number of something based
5:27 on limited information. For example, the
5:28 interviewer may ask you to guess the
5:30 number of planes flying in the sky right
5:33 now. For other roles like audit, text or
5:35 tech, typically there are two
5:36 interviews, technical interview and an
5:39 HR or behavioral interview. The
5:40 technical interview consists of job
5:42 specific questions related to internship
5:44 you are applying for. For example, if
5:45 you're applying for an audit internship,
5:47 the interviewer will ask you questions
5:49 about financial principles and for
5:50 software internships, you will be asked
5:53 about data structure and algorithm and
5:54 computer science fundamentals. After
5:56 clearing the technical interview, you
5:57 will move on to the final round which is
6:00 a behavioral HR interview. The before
6:01 companies invest heavily in their
6:03 culture. So they look for interns who
6:05 align with their values and qualities.
6:07 Let's go through some of the key advice
6:10 from KPMG, EY, Deoid and PWC. KPMG
6:12 suggests you to make a decent CV that is
6:14 easy to read and highlights the
6:15 information relevant to the role you are
6:17 applying for. If you're worried about
6:19 not having a work experience, then EY
6:20 actually says that it is completely
6:22 fine. You are a student. No one expects
6:24 you to have years of experience.
6:26 Instead, highlight what you have learned
6:28 from your other experiences like
6:29 tutoring or participating in college
6:32 clubs, group projects or more. Most
6:33 internship interviews start with the
6:35 classic tell me about yourself question.
6:37 Deoid advises that your answer to this
6:39 should basically be a short elevator
6:41 pitch highlighting your key strengths,
6:43 experiences and career goals. Finally,
6:45 PWC has a great tip for you. Companies
6:47 don't expect you to know everything
6:49 about them or have all the job specific
6:51 skills. They just need to know that you
6:53 are interested in in the internship and
6:55 are trainable. These are just a few of
6:57 tips to help you prepare for your B4
6:59 internship. There are a lot more useful
7:00 tips about how to get an internship and
7:02 what to do once you have joined. If
7:04 you're selected, enjoy every minute of
7:05 your internship because you will not
7:07 only learn industry relevant skills but
7:09 also make lifelong connections. Deote
7:11 has even shared some advice for future
7:13 interns that you can see on their
7:15 website. So this was a complete road map
7:17 to landing a big four internship in
7:18 India. And if you have more questions
