0:02 Guys, a lot of people don't really have
0:04 a money problem. A lot of people simply
0:06 have a management problem. So, I'm going
0:09 to give you 12 things you need to cut
0:11 out that are no longer worth your money
0:12 that's going to help you manage your
0:15 money better and stop buying the wrong
0:17 things. Now, let's start with the big
0:19 ones. Number one is brand new cars and
0:21 car payments. Look, brand new cars and
0:24 car payments are one of the fastest ways
0:27 to slow down your financial progress.
0:29 Stop having car payments. It's possible.
0:32 Trust me. Cars lose value the moment you
0:34 drive them off the lot. And guess what?
0:37 After that, they keep losing value. Now,
0:39 when you add a monthly payment on top of
0:41 that depreciation, you're basically
0:44 locking yourself into years of reduced
0:46 flexibility due to the fact that you
0:49 have car payments. Look, I've bought
0:52 cars cash for years. And listen, it
0:54 works. Not because I'm special, but
0:57 because this one decision to not have a
1:00 car payment frees up $400 or $500 or
1:03 more per month in cash that I can do
1:06 other stuff with. It also reduces my
1:09 stress and gives me options, right? A
1:12 car is transportation. Transportation
1:14 can be good. But it's all about getting
1:17 from point A to point B. Period. New
1:19 cars and car payments, that's not a
1:21 wealth-b buildinging strategy. Now, the
1:23 second thing to cut out that's not worth
1:28 your money is annual tech upgrades. Your
1:30 phones and your devices that still work,
1:33 right? Listen, if you got a phone that
1:35 still works, you don't need a new one. I
1:38 don't care what AT&T and Verizon tell
1:41 you. You don't need an upgrade, another
1:44 camera that's better. Look, cameras on
1:46 phones from 5 years ago still work
1:48 really, really good. You don't need a
1:51 slightly faster chip. Like, you only
1:54 need so many upgrades and gadgets on
1:56 your phone. You don't need a new case
1:58 because the color changed and you're in
2:00 a different mood this year. Listen, if
2:04 your device does what you needed to do,
2:06 upgrading it is optional and it's
2:09 expensive, but it ain't required. Okay?
2:11 This one hits almost every one of us
2:14 because we all have phones and it
2:16 quietly keeps people broke when you're
2:19 constantly upgrading this phone. If it
2:22 works, takes good pictures, you can talk
2:24 on it, you can browse the internet,
2:26 that's it. Whether it's 2 years old or
2:29 whether it's brand new, if it's doing
2:31 what you needed to do, keep it. Don't
2:34 upgrade. Now, number three is credit
2:37 card interest. Credit card interest is
2:39 money, guys, that you will never get
2:42 back ever. It gives you no return. It's
2:44 like throwing money out the window cuz
2:46 you couldn't wait to pay for something
2:49 with cash or with a debit card. You had
2:51 this impulse and guess what? Now you got
2:52 interest payments if you don't pay it
2:54 off. Right now, I haven't used a credit
2:57 card in 13 years. And that decision
3:00 alone has removed a lot of stress out of
3:03 my life. And guess what? In the process,
3:06 I built a million-doll net worth, not
3:09 with credit cards. I didn't need them.
3:11 See, interest compounds daily on those
3:14 cards. And it compounds against you, not
3:16 in your favor. Even when you stop
3:18 spending, the balance on your credit
3:20 cards keep growing. Look, I know there's
3:22 points and rewards and all that stuff,
3:24 but that stuff don't matter when you're
3:26 paying interest. You're just pretty much
3:28 giving money away at that point. Now,
3:31 number four is food delivery apps. Now,
3:34 this is not worth the money, guys. Look,
3:36 if you're bedridden, if you're sick, if
3:38 you're injured, I get it. It's all good,
3:40 right? Have that food delivered because
3:41 you can't make it out there and get your
3:43 own food. I got it. But for real, food
3:46 delivery is one of the most normalized
3:49 money wasters going today, right? A
3:53 simple meal turns into double the price
3:54 because you got the tip, you got the
3:56 fees, you got the markups. Listen, if
3:59 you're ablebodied and you're mobile,
4:01 paying somebody else to bring you food
4:04 regularly is convenience, you're
4:07 overpaying for it's it's really sort of
4:09 lazy. Matter of fact, let me know in the
4:12 comments below if you agree or disagree.
4:15 Is it lazy to have food delivered
4:16 constantly when you can go get it
4:18 yourself or not? I want to know what you
4:20 think. Listen, once in a while it's
4:23 cool, but frequently it just adds up
4:25 fast and it's really a waste of money.
4:27 Now, the fifth thing not worth your
4:30 money anymore are these impulse Amazon
4:32 purchases. You know, where you can sit
4:35 on the couch and spend $1,000 by making
4:37 two clicks. This is how money disappears
4:39 quietly every single month. For a lot of
4:42 people, a few small purchases, they
4:43 don't feel like much. No big deal,
4:46 right? Until you look back at the month.
4:49 See, most of these Amazon impulse buys,
4:51 they're really solving boredom. Okay?
4:53 They don't really solve your problems,
4:55 right? Matter of fact, sometimes they
4:56 lead to more problems because this thing
4:59 can be an addiction. A lot of stuff you
5:02 buy ends up unused, sitting in a box or
5:04 sitting in the corner somewhere after
5:07 the rush of getting it goes away. If you
5:09 want control over your money, you have
5:12 to first take control over you and your
5:15 spending and these impulse buys. Slow
5:18 down the impulse spending. Amazon is
5:20 honestly an addiction for a lot of
5:21 people. Let's be real with it. and it's
5:23 an addiction that you don't want to
5:25 have. Right now, the sixth thing is
5:28 simply subscriptions and these apps and
5:30 things that you don't use. Now, this one
5:32 is simple, okay? If you're not using it,
5:35 cancel it. If it's sitting in your app
5:37 or on your phone and you haven't touched
5:39 it in a while, you shouldn't still be
5:41 paying for it, right? I'm talking
5:44 streaming services, all the apps, right?
5:46 Memberships, all these things. Get rid
5:48 of them if you're not using them. You
5:50 don't need them anymore. Listen, quick
5:51 note here, guys. If you're working on
5:54 getting out of debt, I have a free debt
5:56 snowball worksheet that's going to be
5:58 linked in the description box below. No
6:01 fluff, just a simple practical tool with
6:04 instructions on it, and it's free. The
6:06 purpose is to help you build momentum
6:07 and get out of some of this bad debt
6:09 that we talk about quite often on this
6:12 channel. So, get your free copy down
6:14 below. Now, let's go to number seven.
6:15 The seventh thing that is no longer
6:19 worth your money is simply trendy home
6:21 workout equipment that you don't use.
6:24 Look, we've all been victim to this. You
6:26 don't need expensive equipment to get in
6:29 shape. Look, you can do push-ups. You
6:31 can stand up right where you are and do
6:33 squats. You can jump on the ground and
6:35 do some planks, do some crunches. You
6:37 can even do some burpees, you know,
6:39 where you jump down and jump back up.
6:41 You can walk, you can run, you can jog.
6:43 Look, you can do all that right there
6:46 where you are. All that stuff is free.
6:48 If you've got equipment sitting in the
6:50 corner collecting dust, guys, that's
6:52 money already spent, right? How many of
6:54 you out there got st got a stationary
6:56 bike that's been sitting over there
6:57 collecting dust and you've been hanging
7:00 clothes on it for about 20 years? Or an
7:02 ab machine or, you know, something
7:04 that's just sitting there that you
7:07 ordered that hasn't been used, right? It
7:09 happens. Been there, done that. But
7:11 look, fitness is not really about
7:13 gadgets, okay? It's really about
7:15 consistency and doing what you can and
7:19 using what you got without going out and
7:21 getting the latest elliptical that you
7:23 saw on the infomercial. Now, number nine
7:26 is cable TV. Hey, I recently got rid of
7:29 cable TV and I got streaming services.
7:31 Instead of paying $200 a month for
7:34 cable, I pay about half that now for
7:36 streaming services. Look, cable is old.
7:39 You don't need it. In fact, I think you
7:41 get more channels and more variety
7:44 without cable TV. For real, cable is
7:47 expensive. It's outdated and it's truly
7:50 unnecessary at this point. Most people,
7:52 let's be real, most people watch a
7:54 handful of channels and pay for another
7:57 150 channels or 200 channels, right?
7:59 Streaming is cheaper. In my opinion, in
8:01 the last 6 months since I've got rid of
8:04 cable, streaming is actually simpler and
8:06 it's really more flexible. Look, cable
8:08 TV is sort of like insurance, right?
8:11 It's one of those bills that a lot of
8:12 people tend to forget about and they
8:15 forget to ask questions about it for
8:16 years and years and years. Have you ever
8:18 wondered why you don't see a lot of
8:20 cable TV commercials? Part of that is
8:22 because a lot of times they don't want
8:24 to educate you on the fact that there's
8:27 better, cheaper alternatives out there
8:29 than their cable. The cable providers
8:31 are not trying to wake you up so you can
8:33 leave them. So, they're just happy
8:35 letting you pay the $250 a month when
8:38 you could have been paying around $75 a
8:40 month. That's real. Now, the ninth thing
8:43 that is not worth your money anymore is
8:46 overly priced coaching.
8:48 The weekend boot camps, you know, the
8:51 expensive, overpriced masterminds that
8:53 you see advertised to you all day long
8:56 on social media. Totally not worth it.
8:58 Listen, most of what you need, most of
9:01 what you need to be successful is in
9:04 you. It's at the library. It's free on
9:08 YouTube or it's in a $30 book on Amazon.
9:10 Not all, but a lot of what you need to
9:12 be successful. You don't really need
9:16 $20,000 coaching. You don't really need
9:19 $50,000 weekend masterminds. YouTube
9:23 again is free. Books are cheap.
9:25 information today nowadays is
9:28 everywhere. What's missing is simply
9:30 execution. So, stop paying for the
9:33 $20,000 motivation. You don't need it.
9:35 Before spending big money trying to
9:37 level up, ask yourself this question.
9:40 Have I actually applied what I already
9:43 know? Try that, right? You'd be
9:45 surprised. You already know a whole lot.
9:47 Now, listen. I know I'm going to get
9:49 push back here at number 10, but I'm
9:52 going to say it anyway. Number 10 is
9:55 expensive self-care. Now, hear me out on
9:56 this one. Don't beat me up. Look,
10:00 self-care shouldn't require you to go in
10:02 debt to get it right. Some of the best
10:05 self-care on the planet, guys, is free
10:08 and outside. I know you got the $90 to
10:10 get your nails done, the $50 to get the
10:12 haircut and the fade every two weeks,
10:14 right? To feel good about yourself,
10:16 right? I get it. Look, luxury vacations
10:18 on credit. I know taking care of
10:20 yourself matters. I'm not saying it
10:22 doesn't, right? It does matter. I
10:24 believe that. But when it becomes a
10:26 lifestyle where you truly believe that
10:28 you have to spend a lot of money to feel
10:31 good, when you can't afford it, all that
10:33 does is create pressure instead of
10:36 peace. You can read. It don't cost a lot
10:38 of money to read. It don't cost a lot of
10:40 money to walk outside in nature. It
10:42 don't cost a whole lot of money to build
10:45 a garden, to dance, to draw, to paint,
10:47 to cook or bake, right? to pray, to
10:49 meditate, to journal, to write, talk to
10:52 friends, unplug from social media. You
10:55 need to find cheap ways to self-care.
10:58 The expensive self-care stuff, that's no
11:00 longer worth your money in my opinion.
11:02 Now, the 11th thing that is no longer
11:06 worth your money is designer clothes for
11:09 either growing kids or fluctuating adult
11:13 bodies. We weigh 150 lbs in December,
11:16 but then come March, we might weigh 180
11:19 lbs, right? So, when we're fluctuating
11:20 like that, you definitely don't need to
11:24 have designer clothes. Look, kids grow
11:26 fast, too. And our bodies change.
11:29 Spending big time money on clothes that
11:31 may not fit us just doesn't make sense
11:33 to me. There's nothing at all wrong with
11:35 looking good, looking presentable. But
11:37 looking good and looking presentable
11:40 does not require name brands. And if you
11:44 need the Louis Vuitton purse or you need
11:47 the $250 pair of sneakers to feel good
11:49 about yourself, you may have issues that
11:52 money can't solve. Now, finally, number
11:55 12. The 12th thing no longer worth your
11:59 money is status spending to impress
12:01 people who are not paying your bills.
12:03 Right? This one ties pretty much
12:06 everything we talked about together. If
12:09 you find yourself spending money on that
12:11 new car or those new clothes or that
12:14 vacation just to impress other people,
12:17 that's a problem. If the goal is to
12:20 impress people who aren't contributing
12:23 anything to your well-being or your
12:26 future, the cost is too high. Right?
12:28 Wealth is quiet. Real wealth is quiet.
12:31 stability in life, strong financial
12:34 foundation, that's quiet. Peace is
12:37 quiet. Anything that is messing with
12:40 your wealth, your financial foundation,
12:42 or your peace, it's just not worth it.
12:44 So, hey, that's the 12 things that are
12:47 no longer worth your money. Stop buying
12:49 these things and you'll see an
12:51 improvement in your money. But not just
12:53 your money. You'll also see an
12:55 improvement in your discipline, in your
12:58 self-control, and in how you manage your
13:01 money and your mindset. Because money is
13:04 just really, guys, an outcome of your
13:07 spending. Money is just an outcome of
13:09 your actual behavior with money. When
13:11 you get you right first, your money is
13:13 going to follow. Now, if you want
13:16 clarity instead of noise, that's exactly
13:18 why I wrote this book, Manage Your Way
13:21 to Millions. It's all about building a
13:23 system that works no matter what the
13:25 economy is doing with our money. And
13:27 everything I teach, guys, the framework,
13:30 the tools, the long-term strategy, it's
13:32 all over at smartmoneybro.com.
13:34 Guys, do me a favor and share this video
13:37 with your network of good people. And
13:39 smash that like button below and drop me
13:41 a comment. I want to hear your thoughts.
13:43 And check out this video right here
13:45 where I talk about the nine things that
13:48 you should absolutely upgrade once your
