I reviewed over 150 chairs. These are
the best ones at every price point.
Unfortunately, nothing in life is free
except for the like button, subscribe,
and [music] comment. And please hype the
video as well. But starting with the
best chair under $100, this is the
Amazon Basics chair. Now, I'm going to
be completely honest with you guys. I
don't recommend this chair anymore
because I do think this cushion is just
way too cheap. I think it's going to
flatten incredibly fast. But if you're
someone who doesn't sit all day, you
just sit sparingly here and there, you
just need something at your computer or
wherever setup because you sit like an
hour at a time, then this could be a
good option without breaking the bank.
It's got a decent cushion here. The arms
are soft, which I can't say about so
many other chairs. And the back is soft
all around. Again, not your high octane
all day workday chair, but for like
maybe a couple hours a day, not a bad
pickup. At the $100 to $200 price point,
I recommend anything from Staples. I
really like a lot of their chairs. They
offer a five-year warranty, and they
have a pretty good track record of
honoring their warranties. The top two
that I recommend if you're someone who
likes cushion and plush cushion, the
staple Serena here, it's a pretty basic
chair, but the cushioning feels really
good. And the armrest can swivel up and
completely out of the way so that you
don't jam them when you're spread arming
inside of the back, which so many of
these arm swivels do. This is literally
the only one that I could find where it
doesn't like dig into your triceps here.
So, there's that. And then if you want
mesh, I like the Staples Dexley the best
here. So if you want a mesh chair, this
one has pretty basic functionality as
well. It's got adjustable lumbar in the
back, which is not bad at this price
point. It's got a tilt lock as well and
a big old fat headrest in case you want
to lounge back. So those are the two I
recommend, but I get so many complaints
in this price point that oh, like it's
not available outside of the United
States. And so this is the one that I
recommend if you're outside the United
States. This is the CE who M18. This is
like a usually like $120ish chair. Um,
not bad. The the cushion is a little bit
on the firmer side, but it doesn't have
like a ton of give like that super
plush, so it doesn't feel like it's
going to bottom out anytime soon. The
back rest is not bad. The functionality
features, it's also got an adjustable
lumbar support, which you can also
tighten in and out as well. So, decent
functionality, really, really budget
friendly chair, and I think it's going
to be a much better pickup compared to
other ones I've seen at this price
point, especially if you're located
outside the United States. In the $200
to $300 price range, it's got to be the
Kami Atlas. This one you hear about all
the time from so many channels and
videos and it's because of the fact that
this thing offers so much functionality
and it's got decent amount of comfort
for its price point. Like you really
don't see this level of customization
and adjustments with a decent headrest
as well until you get to like that $400
plus price point. And so this thing is
really really nice. Um it's also got
some you know like metal coverings here
to make it look a little bit more
premium. The armrest you can see also
have like a metal frame as well. So, it
just adds to the rigidity and that like
the, you know, the build quality feeling
of the chair. The back rest is plastic,
but again, what do you expect at a chair
at this price point? Uh, it is going to
be a primarily plastic build. The
headrest is also pretty good. I did make
a mistake in my first video where I said
it couldn't move, but it can't. It was
just very, very stiff. So, you got a
tension kind of moving back and front.
The headrest moves kind of up and down
like this. You got to go all the way up
to bring it back down. This seat cushion
here is going to be a little bit on the
firmer edge, and it does feel a little
bit more rounded. So, it's not going to
be kind of like a nice like, you know,
cushion for your booty, so to speak, but
it's going to be more like a puffy
cushion, right? That's the best way to
put it. But, I would say it's got like a
decent amount of cushiness. Some people
have complained about how firm it is,
but I think it's because a lot of people
when they come to this chair, they're
probably upgrading from their like $100
Office Max Staples chair, which is going
to have that like pleather with really
like plushy cushion that ultimately ends
up bottoming out. And so when they come
from that, they come to this and they go
like, "Oh, it's super firm." It's
supposed to be a little bit firmer,
right? It's supposed to feel a little
bit more supportive compared to like
completely sinking into and sagging into
it, which is not always the best for
your lower back. It's not always the
best for your overall sitting health.
So, something to keep in mind. I'm not
saying if you feel like it's firm and
it's hurting you, that's totally legit.
I'm just saying like just keep in mind
it's not going to have that same kind of
like super duper plushy feel that you
might find on those super cheap chairs.
At the $300 to $400 price point, I'm
going to recommend a used Herman Miller
Aeron. You can find these all over the
place. You can find them on Marketplace.
I saw one the other day for like 200
bucks on my Facebook marketplace. I made
a whole video on how to buy one used.
These really are phenomenal chairs. And
these are the older models. And the
older models, they were made with like
complete metal inside of like its brains
down here. And I talked to a hero
mechanic and he was like, "Dude, the old
ones, they don't break. We just service
them. The newer ones, they tend to break
a little bit more because they introduce
more plastic into the brains down here.
But these old ones, these are tanks. And
so oftent times you really don't need to
do much. It would be nice if you could
sanitize it a little bit, but other than
that, I mean, these things are a beast
of a chair. It was my first like real
chair pickup back when I was a much
younger person. Uh, and I think these
things feel phenomenal. The mesh is
tuned so so well. Highly recommend. And
um, yeah, love it. In the $400 to $500
price point, I recommend the Hayworth
Bre. Now, this comes in many different
colors. So, don't be fooled because this
one is a little bit lighter, but there
are much darker colors. You know, black
on black as always, which is the most
popular color scheme. But this chair,
the reason why it stands out is because
I think the comfort is actually really
phenomenal for a chair in this price
point. But the thing that kind of like
blew me away was the warranty that comes
with this chair. It comes with a 12-year
warranty from a company called Hworth.
Hworth is one of the biggest chair
makers in the world. and they offer
12-year warranty with a good track
record of excellent customer service. I
think this chair just feels really good.
Like it can really get the job done.
This can be an all day seating chair.
I've tested this for multiple days at a
time and I thought it was great. The
seat cushion feels really good. This
back here, it's not going to be like the
softest kind of feeling rubbery mesh
ever, but it does feel soft. There's
nothing offensive about it. Um the build
quality is just kind of like whatever,
right? Cuz it's a primarily plastic
chair, but even the plastic feels pretty
darn good. And overall, I really really
like this chair. Like it is my favorite
chair kind of in this price point
because of that warranty to u comfort
feeling, especially the seat cushion. I
really really like it. Cannot recommend
this thing enough. In the $500 to $600
price point, this is the Hworth Soji.
Again, same company, Hworth, 12-year
warranty. Excellent customer service.
This is just overall a really, really
nice chair. It's got a higher back than
the Bre that you can see over there.
It's got a mesh back, so it kind of like
holds you more hammocky than the Bre
over there. And I think the seat cushion
is pretty similar. It's a little bit
wider, so it's a little bit better for
some, you know, big and taller friends,
so to speak. Here you can see that it's
got a lumbar support. You can raise this
thing up and down using either side. And
then it's got all the standard features,
right? You've got your armrest that can
move every which way that you want it to
go. Got the seat depth that can come
out. But one feature that you can get
added onto this chair is something
called the forward tilt. The forward
tilt is basically a lot of people when
they do work, they're kind of sitting
like this, but often ends up happening
is you end up hunching like this, right?
But the forward tilt allows the se to
tilt forward like this. And what that
does is it drives your feet into the
ground. Kind of opens those hips up and
allows you to sit properly upright like
this much easier when you're sitting
forward out of the chair. If this is
kind of how you sit when you work, this
can really help like really encourage
proper posture when you're sitting. So
forward tilt is an option you can get
into this. Of course, you're going to
have to pay a little extra if you decide
to get that option. So, something to
keep in mind. And overall, it's just a
really, really good chair. It's one that
like I feel like a lot of people don't
feel like they're breaking the bank at
this price point, but also, you know,
you're covered for the next 12 years.
So, in terms of bang for buck, there
really is nothing like it. I really am a
big fan of the Horth Soji and the
Hayward Bre. I think they're really,
really great chairs, especially for
their price points. Again, the way I
kind of did this was I looked at other
chairs in the price point and said,
which one just kind of demolishes all
the rest? And I do think the Hayward
Soji demolishes everything in this price
point. In the $600 to $800 price point,
I really haven't found any chair that's
blown me away. They all kind of have
like meh build quality, meh
functionality, meh comfort, and have
terrible warranties. But why would I
recommend that to you when all the
chairs you just saw have like meh build
quality, but with great to excellent
warranties? That doesn't make any sense.
So, I didn't want to put anything here
just for the sake of putting it in here.
The only chairs that I would recommend
at this price point are going to be used
chairs. So my friends over at Krenel
Office, they're really great. Um,
anything used steel case from them,
steelcase AMIA and the Steelcase Leap in
particular, those are standouts, but
that's only available here in the United
States and they are used. So I didn't
know if they qualified to be on this
list. The used Herman Miller Aerons,
that's because you can literally find
them anywhere. But uh the these other
used Steelcase chairs, they can be a
little bit harder. Colonel Office also
offers like a 12-year warranty and a
nice like revision and refurbishment of
the chair. So, they do add a lot of
value. So, something to keep in mind.
Let me know if I'm missing something
down in the comments below, though,
because I would love to find a chair
that works well in this price point. In
the $800 to $900 price point, again,
this was kind of a vacant space. I
couldn't really find any chair that I
thought worth recommending until this
year. This here is the Liberovo Omni.
And I know, I know they have been
spending a ton of money on advertising,
on sponsoring videos, and I also got
sponsored with them. This video in
particular is not sponsored. And I
genuinely think this is a phenomenal
chair. Like I do think they've knocked
it out of the park with this one. I like
it a lot. I've been sitting on this one
pretty much every single day in the
studio because I want to do a long-term
review of it and every single day I sit
on it. Every single day I feel great,
right? I've been sitting on it for long
hours at a time. It's it's like I don't
miss my other chairs because of it. It's
just a really really great chair. I
think it can go even deeper than that
for lounging. Like this is phenomenal.
It feels great on the back. I really
like the cushioning of it. It's a little
bit softer than what you'd be used to on
like a typical ergonomic chair. And so
for all those reasons, I think it's
really really great. But it does have
its flaws. So again, in case people are
like, "Ah, you're sponsor. You're
shill." It's like, "No, I'm very sober
about its weaknesses. The arms move way
too easily out of place." This lower
back can be a little bit aggressive or
out for a lot of people. This front
extended cushion, they don't actually
have a frame here to hold that cushion,
so it just kind of flops forward. So
there are weaknesses to this chair. And
the warranty being 5year warranty for
the chair and 2-year on the motors. I
know that's a big complaint that people
have. So, yeah, I'm very sober and I'm
the one who called out a lot of these um
cons about this chair, but even so, I
think they offer a ton so much good here
for this price. For a chair to make it
on this list, it needs to beat
everything else in its price point. And
I think the Liberova Omni does that. It
beats out the Herman Miller Vant. The
Herman Miller Vant looks so terrible
compared to the Liberova Omni because of
just how much more comfortable and how
much more functionality this chair
offers. But it's not just that. I think
this chair also dominates a bunch of
chairs above its price point as well,
which is why I'm going to say this is
probably the best chair actually from
the $800 price point all the way up to
$1,200. So, we're going to jump straight
now from $1,200 to $1,300. At $1,200 to
$1,300, this is the Steelcase Leap V2.
This is one of the most popular chairs
in the entire world. And again, for good
reason. I say this so often, but
Steelcase is one of the best chair
companies in the world. Offers a 12-year
warranty, free returns, which is really
awesome. great track record of excellent
customer service and the Steelcase Leafy
2 is just iconic, right? Just the amount
of flexibility you get inside of this
chair as you sit in it is phenomenal.
It's got a great tilt functionality as
well where the seat actually comes out.
In normal chairs, when you tilt back
like this, a lot of people like end up
having to pull their hips out a little
bit to get a little bit more comfort,
but with this type of tilt mechanism,
your hip kind of comes out with you. So,
it's really really nice. It feels great.
The cushioning is good overall. I do
think the seat cushion is a little bit
thin. uh Candle office, they sell a
thicker seat cushion. I keep saying this
all the time because people get the Leap
and then they're like, "Oh, I'm
bottoming out on it." And I'm like,
"Yeah, I know. That's something I talk
about a lot is that I think the seat
cushion on the Leap is just a little bit
too thin." Um, yeah. So, something to
keep in mind. And then if you are
someone who's located in the United
States, Cranle Office sells a matching
headrest for the Leap chairs, if you get
one of theirs cuz they can match the
fabrics cuz they use their own. Uh, if
you don't have a Cranle Office or you're
located outside the United States, they
partnered up with Atlas Headrest who
sells this headrest. you can get that on
there. I think it's a much needed add-on
here because the Leaf's back is not all
that tall and so if you are taller, it
can be a nice add-on to add some like
upper back/ neck support in the chair.
But yeah, overall I think this chair is
phenomenal. Feels really good overall.
Still case sleepy too. From the $1,300
to $1,400 price point, I highly
recommend a Hayworth Fern, but I do
recommend that you get one with the
aluminum base because I think the
aluminum base is just going to have
better build quality overall. It's going
to feel a lot more structured, a lot
more stable and stiff, so to speak. Um,
but yeah, overall I really like this
chair because I really like that this
chair balances. So, this is the mesh
back. It balances comfort with
breathability. So, this back, I think it
feels really comfortable. It's got a
thin layer of cushion here. So, you
don't really feel like the ridges from
this like rubber like material in the
background. And that rubber material is
going to be what gives you that
breathability and flexibility all at the
same time. So you can see here when I'm
sitting inside the chair, you can see
just how much that back is flexing with
me, but at the same time you get the
added cushion there and you get
breathability. So I think it's just
really really awesome. Keep in mind that
the seat is a little bit on the firmer
side. So something to keep in mind. And
a lot of people have been complaining
about like build quality issues and I do
think that um it's happening most
commonly on plastic frame ferns. I do
think on the aluminum ones you do get
better build quality. Things do feel a
little bit more uh in Korean we call
tintinet, right? Just robust. That's the
right word. Like robust, right? So, it
just feels more robust. Um, I really
like the firm. I really like the lumbar
support here. I really like this bubble
here. Uh, some people again find it a
little bit too aggressive. But overall,
I really do like the Hworth Fern. It is
one of my favorite chairs. It sits at
home with me. Uh, as well as I've got
two other chairs there as well. But
yeah, so I sit on it every night and
every night I'm just like, ah, I miss
this chair. I really like it a lot. Oh,
and also Hworth sells a Fern with the
headrest. I highly recommend you do not
get it. That headrest is awful. If you
really need one, you can pick one up
from Atlas Headrest. I I really don't
recommend the headrest from Hayward.
It's It's really bad. From $1,400 to
$1,500, this is the Herman Miller Mirror
2. You can see that it's a very very
interesting looking chair. Some people
love the way it looks, some people hate
the way it looks. Comes in all different
sorts of colors. I think colors is like
one of the big selling points of the
Mirror 2 because you can really get it
to match pretty much any setup. It
actually looks pretty cool. But yeah, I
mean overall compared to like to most
mesh chairs, this thing actually has a
ton of flexibility and movability inside
of the chair. So here you get this like
front thing that you can actually pull
up if you need additional seat depth,
which is not something you see in a lot
of mesh chairs. And if they do, it's
usually a slide out one. If it's a slide
out one, you feel the hard back. So you
know, like this is a nice little way
that they did it here. Armrest can go
super high and super low. It's probably
one of the lowest armrests on this list.
But yeah, the fact that it's all mesh
here and it's got more of an open feel
compared to the Hermit Miller Aeron,
which you'll see in just a little bit.
You've already seen the classic one I
talked about earlier. you know, like
it's just got a much more open feel, a
much more flexible feel. So, it just
feels a little bit nicer. The only thing
that you got to keep in mind is that,
you know, the seat is a little bit on
the narrow side. So, even for me being
5'6, about 170 lbs. You can see like if
I ever want to spread my legs, I start
to kind of dig into the sides here. This
something to keep in mind. But, yeah,
overall really well-built chair. Herman
Miller, one of the best chair Americans
in the world, offers a 12-year warranty
on their chairs. And yeah, the mirror is
definitely one that's like really cool,
like cool to look at, very unique, you
know, statement piece kind of chair that
also feels really good. From $1,500 to
$1,700, you have another dead zone here.
No chair in this price point really
stands out and amazes me here. You might
as well save some money by getting a
chair that came before this. Or you can
get one of those chairs and kind of pimp
them out with your favorite color or
fabric cuz those usually bump up the
price. So, you could do that or save up
a little bit more and get a chair that
comes after this price point. At $1,700
to $1,800, you have the Anthros chair
here. Now, MSRP, it's going to be a
little bit higher. If you use my link,
you get like $200 off or something,
which brings it into this price point.
Now, this chair is another fairly new
player on the market. It was developed
by a bunch of people who uh built
wheelchairs, so they know what it's like
to sit all day long. Uh I do think it's
probably the best chair that I know of
for better posture support, better lower
back support, and lower back pain and
back pain support. So, I really do think
there's a lot of love and a lot of
research that went into this chair and I
think overall it just feels phenomenal.
Um, you can ask people like I think in
my ultimate chair buyers guide that I
made, um, I have a clip of pretty
well-known streamer who talks about like
how comfortable the chair is, even
though he doesn't know what the chair is.
is.
>> It's very comfy though. I like it. What
kind of chair is this?
>> Uh, I don't remember, but they, uh, they
gave it to me.
>> Very comfy.
>> Uh, and so, you know, like there is
proof out there that I'm not crazy.
People are like, "Oh, you're just
chilling out the chair." It's like, no.
Again, I know it has its issues. I think
these arms feel terrible, right? And
that's a common theme on pretty much
every chair, no matter what price
they're at. Is it the best looking
chair? Not really. Is it a really unique
looking chair? Yeah, for sure. Um, but
the proof is in the pudding. Like once
you sit in it, once you dial it in, this
pelvic support here, oh man, it just
feels so good. Like you just get that
lower back support is phenomenal inside
of this chair. And then this top one,
you can kind of adjust to however you
want inside of it. And then you can kind
of make it fancy. You can get different
like wood layouts and stuff like that on
the back rest here. I've got one back
there in that corner. I've got a white
one. And so, yeah, I do think the
Anthther chair, it's like the one that I
always recommend. People are like, "Hey,
I'm wrestling with lower back pain. What
do you recommend?" And my always go-to
is the Anthos chair. So, yeah, I do
recommend this one highly. I like it a
lot. Everyone who sits in it, they're
always like, "I get it. I get what it's
doing." Whether they like it or not,
that's a different point. But, they
understand the purpose of this chair.
It's to make them sit better, healthier,
longer. They also offer a 60-day trial
period. And in that trial period, you
can talk with, I think, what is like
physical therapist or something to kind
of help you dial in the chair correctly,
which is a value ad and an offer that no
other chair company offers. In the
$1,800 to $1,900 price point, you have
the Herman Miller remastered Aeron.
These are going to be the newer ones.
The one I showed you earlier, that's a
classic Aeron. They stopped making those
in, I believe, 2007 or something. So,
afterwards, they started making this one
here. This one does have some updates
and improvements like the front kind of
falls a little bit faster to prevent any
kind of like pressure buildup in the
thighs. This mesh also feels a little
bit higher quality, a little bit nicer,
a little less tacky and plasticky to the
touch. The arms are also much more
adjustable compared to the classic ones.
I forgot how unmovable or nonadjustable
the classic Aeron's arms were cuz I
haven't sat on it in a long time and
every time I sit on the remastered I'm
like, "Oh yeah, these actually are
pretty phenomenal armrest." Like they
did a really good job on these armrests.
I think the padding is also pretty good
as well. Really nice and cushy. Um, in
terms of the dials and stuff, I kind of
mentioned this earlier, right? But, uh,
mechanic told me that on the remastered
Aerons, they started introducing more
plastic bits in the brain of the chair
down here. And so, they have seen some
breaks, things that they have to repair.
Whereas on the classic ones, it was just
all like metal. And so, they said on the
metal ones, they just don't break. So,
we just have to service them. Whereas on
this one, they have to actually repair.
So, I am actually living proof of that.
I actually had to get a remastered Aeron
replaced because the forward tilt on it.
I showed this forward tilt a little bit
earlier on this list, but the Aerons can
also forward tilt. So, this is me
sitting upright. And then if I go ahead
and do this, you can see that I'm
forward tilting, right? So, this forward
tilt, it's kind of done with this
plastic bar here like this. And that
plastic bar broke. And so, this thing
wouldn't stop at the horizontal level
and kept forward tilting like this here.
The forward tilt is supposed to help you
like get your feet into the ground, open
up the hips, and then allow you to kind
of sit upright in the chair when you're
not making full contact with the back,
which is really, really nice. But yeah,
so this piece broke and that's when I
got the mechanics to come and that's
kind of when they gave me a rundown of
like what it's like to service a
remastered versus the classics cuz I was
just really curious. If you want to get
a headrest with the Aerons, Herman
Miller doesn't make the headrest for
these. These are made by Atlas headrest.
You can get either like a fabric looking
one or you can get a 1:1 mesh matching
one. That's going to add an additional
like $190 to your Aeron which is going
to take it out of its price point. But
yeah, I think the Aeron is a really
really great chair. It was the first
chair that like solved a lot of lower
back issues I was having while sitting
when back when I was a much younger man.
And so, yeah, it holds a special place
in my heart. This is the fully loaded
one here. You can see that the lumbar
support looks like a shoe back here. If
you get one that looks like a football
or one that only has this bottom piece
here, that's going to be a quote unquote
cheaper lumbar support. And so, it's
going to bring the price down. The thing
about Aerons is like there's so many
little things that you can add on that
bring the price up. And so if you want
to see like a full guide on what every
adjustment and thing does, um I believe
I made a video on that. I'll go ahead
and link it over here somewhere. It's an
oldie but a goodie. But yeah, Herman
Miller Aeron remastered at $2,000 plus
is the Herman Miller Gaming and Body.
This is my favorite chair. I love every
chair that I talked about on this list.
Like I genuinely love every chair that I
talked about on this list, but this
chair is home for me. It's kind of like
that feeling, you know, when you go on
vacation and you're having a great time,
everything's novel, everything feels
great, and then you come home and then
you just lay in your own bed and then
you're just like, "Fuck, that feels
good." Right? That's what the Herman
Miller gaming body is for me. This feels
like home. I have tried so many chairs
in hopes that it would beat it because
I'm just like, does it have to be that
the most expensive one is the best one?
Right? I And I'm trying to find a chair
that I can like soundly say, "No, it's
better than this." There are a lot of
chairs that I think are better for its
price than the Embbody for sure. Like
the Liberova Omni for the price, I think
it shoots way above its price point. And
if somebody is like, I don't want to
spend that much money, I would go
Liberova Omni, hands down, right? But if
they're like, no, I want the best chair
that money can buy. It's the gaming body
for me. Like, it really is. And again,
so many people are like, oh, like you're
such a shill. I'm like, no. Every video
I make about the Herman Miller gaming
body, I'm like, there are flaws about
this chair that you need to be aware of.
The lower back here, this thing can prod
a little bit. It gets aggressive. You
can adjust it. The gaming embody hides
it better than the non- gaming cuz it's
got some padding right there. So, it
hides it better than the gaming or the
non- gaming. That's why I like the
gaming one better. The non-gaming also
seems to kind of this top edges here.
They seem to turn in a little bit
sooner. And so, even for me who's
shorter, I can feel a little bit of that
kind of like poking into my back a tiny
bit, but the gaming one seems a little
bit wider out and so it doesn't dig into
the shoulders nearly as much. So, those
are like two major cons. The digging of
the shoulders, the stiff lumbar support
here. The armrests aren't very
adjustable. They go up and down and then
they move in and out and that's pretty
much it. They don't go forward and back.
They don't go swivel any which way. So
yeah, I am very aware of the weaknesses
of the EmBody. Also, it's crazy crazy
expensive. And yet still time and time
again, every single time I finish my
reviews, every single time I had the
opportunity to just sit on the gaming
body, I sit in it and I'm like, "No,
this is the best chair that money can
buy." Like, I think it's my favorite. So
many people out there have agreed with
me that they have found their favorite
chair in the gaming body. I and if you
can afford it, I highly recommend it.
And if you want a headrest, again, Atlas
headrest makes a 1 to1 matching headrest
for all the gaming bodies at this point,
except for the newest colors, I think.
And I think this combination here is
going to be my favorite. And I hope
maybe in 2026 we'll find a chair that
dethrons it. If you guys think you found
one that does, let me know in the
comments below. And until next time,
