welcome back to the complete spanish
grammar series lesson three
we're still seeing the present tense and
we're going to continue seeing the
irregular conjugations
now the super mario world theme is going
to be a constant for the upcoming video
and today's video
in the last one we saw the world one
that had four levels and in today's
video we're going to see the world 2. it
has five levels now
now
just as a summary i want you to remember
that in the very first video we learned
how to conjugate regular verbs regular
verbs are divided into three categories
ar er and ir verbs and you conjugate
them by getting rid of the last two
letters the endings and putting the
conjugation form for every subject pronoun
pronoun
now in video two we learned that not
only you have to conjugate
the endings but also you have to focus
on the letter behind the endings
and in today's video i want you to focus
on the letters in between the verbs in
the middle of the verbs that is going to
be where the irregularity appears the
best way to understand how the five
levels work
is by imagining a triangle but not only
one triangle it has to be an inverted
triangle this inverted triangle has five
levels going from the biggest to the smallest
smallest
the triangle idea is for you to imagine
the amount of perks that fit into each
category being the first one the one
that has the most and being the last one
the very first level uses kere
kerer means to want
and it is an er verb meaning that you
have to conjugate using the er
conjugations query has an e and that is
the letter you have to focus on
when you conjugate kerer you don't
conjugate it as query
that should not be the conjugation you
should conjugate it as quiero
and that is the level's name
e for i e
many people think that you just add an i
but in reality you get rid of that e
and you substitute for an ie
picturing it this way makes it
easier to remember the next upcoming
four levels
now if you remember correctly from the
video two
we learned that only the joe form was
irregular but in this video
all levels will have
all irregular
conjugations except for one this is
literally the opposite from video two
where it was only one and the rest
regular well in this case is going to be
all irregular except for one
that one is constant so it's going to be
the same one in all the legs
so what is the rule the rule says
whenever you have an e behind the ending
or that e is the last vowel behind the ending
ending
you have to substitute the e for i e
so if you have quiro or jo you would
have kieres for it to form
for the he or she in this case el it
would be
por ellios is kieren
but what about nosotros well that is the
one that is never irregular at least in
present tense
that is going to be queremos so there is
no change in the weak word let's see
another birth despertar
now desperate
should be the one that
kind of clarifies
where the e must be
now desperate is an ar verb
so so far
it could be er dna or it could be ar the
ending doesn't really matter what
matters is that it has to have an e
before the ending
now that e
needs to be close to the ending
desperate has to ease but one is closest
to the ending that is the one that
so so far
it's e-r-a-r
or i-r keep that in mind
center has an e it's also one letter
or one vowel before the ending so how do
you conjugate
the i feel
it's yo
now let's see some extra verbs here
where you will have to conjugate them
the very first one is serrat to close
and then there to understand
perra there to lose pain
pain
to think it
so let's give it a chance so how would
okay let's see the answers
so the very first one remembering e for
ie and it's an ar birth
so you have to conjugate it using the ar conjugations
conjugations
it would be yo sierro
all of these verbs have an e behind the
ending or before the ending
and that e needs to be changed for an i e
e
filling in or inverted triangle the very
first level
is going to be the e for ie
it has the most verbs that have this irregular
irregular
conjugation that's why it's the very
first level with the biggest amount of perps
in level 2 the main verb is going to be
poder that means to be able or the
auxiliary verb in english can like i can
eat i can see
that is poder in spanish
well there is one small it's an er verb
but it doesn't have an e
behind the ending it has an o
now that is going to be the one that we
will be substituting and i hope you're
seeing hear the constant first it was an
e now it is an o
so how do you conjugate
well it's not going to be bottle because
that would be once more a regular verb
and it's not a regular verb it is a
irregular verb so
so
what do you substitute the o for you
will substitute for a u e and that is
the name of the label or for ui
so the rule is once again
if you have a no
before the ending you change the o for a
u e
and just like the previous level you
will conjugate the rest of the pronouns
the same way
except for which one
the waveform so how is the waveform podemos
podemos
all of them use the ue
but not the wii form so it's going to be puedo
puedo puedes
puedes
el puede
nosotros podemos puede
puede
means to move
in the job form it would not be mobile
[Music]
which means to fly
[Music]
let's see other verbs
the very first one is contact record
record
to remember most
now notice that in the last one
i put it rings
in english you need to put the ear so
the verb has
a subject but in spanish remember that
verbs can omit the subject and when it
comes to jober is the only verb that you
need to remember
that it's an impersonal verb meaning
that it doesn't really need a subject
because nobody actually does the action
of reigning
you don't say i rain you rain he rains
you always say it rains
in english but you need to eat in
spanish we don't really need the eat
we just say reigns
reigns
so let's see try to give it a a chance
all right so the very first one i count
would be joe cuento cuento
cuento
i remember yo
i show you
you
and it rings
this one should be
slightly more difficult but i don't
think it's going to be that hard
now it cannot be enjoyable
because it's not me who's doing the
brain and it cannot be too joyous
because you're not making it right it
would be in the
he she form
so it would be too ap
and that is it rains joey
that verb you can only conjugate in
present tense in the he or she form
because it only says it rains so looking
at our inverted triangle
we see that level one e for ie
level two
level three
you really need to pay attention to this
one and you really need to get the clues
so you can confuse level three with
level five
but it is going to be the verb that we
will be using it means to ask for it the
three words
to ask for do not include any other word
when you use it in spanish because it
actually means to ask for it
now peter has an e before the ending and
that is the confusing part when you
conjugate this level because it looks
the same as level five but let's see how
you're going to get it when you use
pedir the first one would be pedal now
now
some of you don't really like to use
this verb because how it sounds but
it doesn't really mean
what you're thinking it means uh it
doesn't really mean that in splash
it means just i ask for right
so it's not pain
fun fact pedo actually means fart
when you fart so
so
if you say giopedo doesn't make sense
pendo is a fart okay
okay
but it's not bell
it's actually going to be pito
probably being worst
because it sounds like in english
like something else but it's going to be
p so the irregularity is going to be the
e for the i
this one is going to be the name for
level 3
and just like the previous two levels is
going to be the e before the ending
and it's going to be in all of the pronouns
pronouns except
except
to guess that the v4
that will remain the same as the
let's see the verb mediegal
so you repeat the conjugation correctly
i measure
and what about serbia serve
serve joe
joe syllable
syllable
now if you haven't noticed it jed
the key aspect here is that in category
3 you only have
ir burps
you don't have
ers or you don't have ai's it's only
going to be
ar verbs
now if you want to see
the mnemonic
to remember this one
be sure to book a class start learning
with a professional teacher
classes are tailored according to your
level and your progress is important so
i keep track of how you're doing so
you're always achieving more
book a trial class and start your
language journey now
let's see another verbs that have this
same irregularity
repetitive to repeat
this theory to get dressed
this predicted to say goodbye and
so let's see how you conjugate these
i say goodbye yo
i choose yo
yo
and notice this one has two irregularities
irregularities
one from the video number two
and one for today's video it has the e4i
but it is a
i r
extra points if you got this one correct
so when you're going to get in the jaw
form remember you cannot only put the o
because that would mean the sound go
illegal but you have to change it for a
j to have the constant sound so
extra points for you
looking at our inverted triangle we have
three levels so far so e for ie
o for u e
and e for
second to last level
is going to be using afghanis
but in reality the second to last level
has only two verbs two verbs
only have
the same irregularity in the whole
spanish language
luckily you will be using only one
because the second birth is quite useless
useless really
really
we don't really use it at all
at least
not if you're not a lawyer so let's see
at kirby atki means to acquire when you
conjugate this one you have to focus on
the i
and when you conjugate it it's not akiro
once again it should be different and it
should be yo
so the name of the level is the oh there
the rule would be that whenever you have
an i
before the ending you change it for ie
the two form is at quires
the key form is atkiere
we skipped the instructor form the
aegios is at geren
and the we form
if you guessed it correctly it's at quirimos
quirimos
watch out once again with the ir conjugation
conjugation
you should have said imos
because it's an ir and remember the we form
form
follows whatever is the ending of the birth
birth
now i said that there are only two verbs
the second one is in kiri that means to inquire
inquire
we don't use it
at all it's really really rare that we
use in kiri probably used more in
english than in spanish but the
contribution for the joe and the two
form would be in yellow
and in kiers
but if you can skip this one skip it
just learn at kirit that is the one that
you should learn and see in our invert
triangle we would have so far four
levels almost done e for ie o for ue e
for i
last level has only one birth and that's
it only one
but it's very important you do have to
remember this one not like the previous
one that you can skip and keep it
uh hugar means to play now it wasn't you
before the ending and the way you
conjugate it is not by putting hugo hula
means juice
so you would conjugate it as hue
the rest of the verbs should be the same
it's u for ui and it's when you have a u
before the end rig so tu juegas el juega nosotros
nosotros
jugamos without the
ue it's normal and the edges quake
now who got
is to play
but to play games or sports
no instruments
when you use instruments you use the
verb toka and finally looking at or
inverted triangle all complete you have
the last u for ue level and that is how
you should remember these five levels
you can actually use this one to
have a cheat sheet in case you forget which
which
rule applies to each level
let's see some examples
joe pidon comida and ubereats i ask for
food on ubereats remember pillow means
ask for it that is the whole birth you
don't need to add anything else in
spanish to me ask for it
jojuego football
i play soccer
or football every day
edges duermen and la cama they sleep
on the bed yo despierto a mike
can you lock or close the door this one
is one of the uses of the birth poder
just like in english when you say i can close
close
in spanish we use the same logic the
same pattern puedes serba so you
conjugate the proof can
and then you just have the extra verb in
let's see
one conversation
once again first time i will do it
slowly and the second time i will do it
in the normal pace abnormal beast and
finally translation estas
now let's see the translation
uh the very first one says que tienes estas
estas
what is wrong with you are you sick
and thermo is sick
now ktms literally means in english what
do you have
but i think it should be better
translated as what's wrong with you
uh no pero siento de lori
i'm not sick but i feel pain in my neck
remember the i is omitted in the spanish
part because we don't use the pronouns
when we speak that much now
you're lying now
now
uh in english you put
you are lying but in spanish you just
conjugate in the present days nientes
from the word men
so e for ie
your voice sounds
weird extrano or extraneous it's weird
claro que no
of course not no puedes mentir teconos
you cannot lie
i know you will come
come here
here
whatever do you want to play chess now
that conocea is an expression that we
use a lot when we're speaking so it's
good that you learn this one
right now whatever
you don't know how to play chess right
now in the video number two we learned
the birth conocer and i said that you
should remember that verb as no of saber
is the second birth that means to know
and it's already used here
sabes is in the due form service you
know saber plus a birth in spanish
is kinda how you use it in english when
you say
know how to
so in this case sabes fuga
know how to play sabes
sabes [Music]
[Music]
know how to fly
sabes comer
know how to eat practice time let's see
these last sentences try to write your
answers on the comments
so let's see how you did
susan acquires the property la propiadad
charles dreams about sheep obejas
i never repeat the question
la pregunta the question
he shows me the way
el camino
he shows me the way el camino so sho is
the verse
o it has an o
this one look at the ending it's an i
at the ending
an og and acquire is atki
try to conjugate and make the sentences
so you can see how you did [Music]
[Music] you
