hello everyone from the busy streets of
tundu today I'm about to embark on my
very first multi-day bike trip I'm going

Yan we are in the embryo City Zone look
how empty this road is approaching the
tundu so right now we are in the
demolition Zone you guys probably saw
there were some abandoned buildings and
things back there that are going to be
turned into new homes hes and new
skyscrapers probably in the next few
months or maybe a year or 2 years things
happen super fast in urban China and
look what's in front of us there's a
metro station right in the middle of a
field but that's only temporary of
course this will be part of the city very
soon just reached the very first town on
this route called yongan and let's see
here I found a won place on the side of
the road and they have my very favorite
type of wons which are made with this
type of pepper that isn't spicy per se
it like has this numbing flavor to it I
don't think it's a thing in the US I
don't think people would like it there I
hated it when I first tried it too but
then I kind of gained a taste for it as
time went on the numbing pepper is
actually in the broth and not in the
filling of the won the entire thing has
it first chicken sighting so excited we
now so we are finally out in the hilly
part of the countryside it'd be all
right if I was like walking but it's
rough with the bike and especially I
have all this stuff on the back here
so not the most enjoyable part of the
route but it's all good enjoying the
scenery the hills are gone which is good
but unfortunately disaster has struck
because the scenery is also gone H

suddenly we're here now
honestly I'm kind of starting to suspect
this light's not going to change chundu
is like a dandelion you know it's like
all its little seeds are blown out into
the wind and they like Sprout themselves
all throughout the countryside so I
guess this is one of those

you I think there's been a bit of a city
planning error here but it has character
that the tundle Metro is all the way out
here oh my goodness that is wild [Music]

currently about 40 minutes from T it is
6:00 p.m. Sunset is coming and we're
going to make it just in [Music]
time after a long day on the road I have
finally arrived in chai this is my hotel
now that I'm finally back in the hotel
it's time to brush my teeth I've been in
a habit lately of trying to brush my
teeth after every single meal or at
least rinse my mouth out because after
you eat the food remnants that are left
on your teeth will be broken down by the
bacteria in your mouth and this can
actually erode your teeth and the
appearance of teeth is something that's
pretty important it may impact the first
impression that people have of you and a
lot of people actually have anxiety
because they feel like their teeth are
not white enough or not clean enough now
that I use electric toothbrushes I feel
like manual toothbrushes can't really
get the job done well enough but on the
other hand with all the traveling I do
it always felt kind of inconvenient to

it is now time for the second day in our
goodbye T we had fun together but it is
rolling finally we are in the
countryside and I think it's for real
this place is a nice mix of the old the
new some
Mafia we are now out of Tangerine
Fields what wow check out these chonky
gourds I'm surprised the roof hasn't
now okay whose idea was it to put a bee
farm right next to exercise equipment
kind of weird but okay as I was biking
down the road my highly observant
eyeball caught a glimpse of something
weird on the pavement I stopped and
discovered it's a praying mantis just
sitting there waiting to be squashed
move we're so close
move finally success be safe no more
crawling on the road okay
bye-bye finally arrived at a little town
it's 1:30 so definitely past the ideal
lunch hour it's kind of hard to find
food at off hour times in small places
but who knows 1:30 maybe something will
out finally found a place that's open
it's kind of like a combination of a
bubble tea place and a fast food
restaurant so let's see how this is it's
not bad honestly probably wouldn't pass
in a big city but we're in the middle of
s yes fall is here look at those leaves
yeah and here we
come this part of the route was by far
my favorite quiet Country Roads
beautiful tea Terraces and here and
there some great fall colors this wasn't
even my original planned route I
switched to it at the last minute to get
off of a road that had a lot of trucks
did but of course it had to come to an
end eventually here we are in the
yan hello everyone from Yan probably the
only city in China that is more obsessed
with pandas than tondu the panda per
capita ratio around here is through the
roof pandas everywhere even the graffiti
is pandas around here this pandemonium
ha is because there's a famous Panda
Research area up in the mountains around
here but I'm saving it for when we has
time to come with me today this is just
trip suana is pretty well known for
being a province where life is
relatively laid-back and maang and tea
culture are a really big thing here I
passed by lots of people drinking tea on
the river bank and one group even called
I actually came to yaan once before in
2017 and one of the deepest Impressions
the city left on me was sewage issue
there's a lot of sewage being openly
dumped in the river so now I'm back here
on the River Bank in a lot of the same
places I went to in 2017 and I just
don't see any of that anymore like you
know there's not all those pipes dumping
sewage into the river there's like a
proper sewer line yeah I pay attention
to this stuff I'm not saying it's
resolved 100% I'm not sure but what I
can say is it seems there's been a huge
Improvement and the river is looking
quite nice quite clean so go ya on [Music]
oh my gosh there are people swimming in
swimsuit I'm going to go around to the
other side and see if I can meet them as

finally arrived at Yan station and it is
time to head back to tonu hope you guys

also a mini tour of yan even though the
weather wasn't very good it was foggy
and rainy but still met some friendly

lots of fake
