0:05 Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Asalamualaikum warahmatullahi
0:10 wabarakatuh. Subhanallah, walhamdulillah
0:15 walailaha illallahuwallahuakbar, laahaula walaquwwata, illaabillaahil'aliyyil 'adzim.
0:21 Rabbisrohli sodri wayassirli amri wahlul uqdatan min lisani yafqohu qauli.
0:29 God bless students. One day some of the companions of the Prophet
0:35 Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam chose to stay in the mosque.
0:40 They worship day and night without working, without making any effort.
0:47 They feel sufficient with prayer and also with dhikr.
0:53 But Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam rebuked him.
0:57 He said that the hand above is more noble
1:02 than the hand below. That strong Muslims
1:09 are more loved by Allah than weak Muslims.
1:13 This is about three friends who want to worship to the extreme.
1:19 However, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) rebuked him
1:23 and said, "Whoever
1:29 dislikes my Sunnah is not one of me." Hadith narrated by Bukhari.
1:38 Students whom Allah has blessed. Reflecting on this hadith is the beginning
1:45 of our discussion this time, namely about the concept of humans and
1:52 their duties related to the caliphate on this earth.
1:58 If we reflect deeply, we agree that as long as this world exists,
2:06 the discussion about humans seems endless.
2:11 And discussing human existence
2:16 is interesting. Isn't it because humans exist that
2:23 the dynamics of science and technology continue to occur?
2:28 Until the results of science and technology can create a
2:34 civilization. But the real contemplation is
2:39 whether Allah has then calculated it perfectly?
2:44 Clearly, Allah has calculated it perfectly.
2:49 So where is that calculation? One of the calculations is found
2:55 in the Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 30, where an extraordinary dialogue takes place
3:01 between Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and an angel. The angel
3:08 asks, "Why is this world intended for humans?"
3:14 Students whom Allah has blessed. After we reflect on the hadith and
3:19 how surah Albaqarah verse 30 underlies
3:24 our discussion this time, in future discussions we will together achieve
3:31 the goal of this meeting, namely understanding the concept of man and
3:39 the duties of his caliphate from an Islamic perspective.
3:44 In the Qur'an we find two words that represent
3:49 the limits of the concept of humans. The first thing
3:55 we will know is what is called the century concept
4:00 or better known as Abdillah. The word Abad emphasizes the position of humans
4:08 as servants of Allah Subhanahu wa Taala in the concept of ubudiyah.
4:14 The implication of the amad concept is that humans have the duty to serve in
4:21 the form of worshiping Allah. Quran surah Azzariyat verse 56 confirms
4:28 and is a strong argument regarding this matter.
4:32 There Allah said, "And I did not create jinn and humans
4:38 except to worship me."
4:42 Quran surah Albayyinah verse 5 further strengthens the concept of humans within the limits of
4:48 this abdillah. There Allah says, "In fact, they are not ordered except
4:55 to worship Allah by purifying their obedience to Him and practicing
5:01 a straight religion. The students whom Allah blesses.
5:07 Meanwhile, in the second word we are familiar with the concept of khalifatullah.
5:14 And this concept is an important focus in our discussion this time.
5:20 As we have discussed in the perception narrative section,
5:24 the allocation of the earth to humans has given rise to an interesting dialogue between
5:30 Allah Subhanahu wa Taala and angels. As emphasized in
5:35 the Koran surah Albaqarah. verse 30. But at the end Allah closed the dialogue with
5:43 the sentence, we know what you do not know.
5:50 If you think about it deeply, Allah's affirmation indicates
5:57 that in fact there is a secret within humans, namely a potential that
6:03 is not possessed by creatures other than humans.
6:08 In this secret potential
6:13 there are rights and obligations
6:19 as well as limitations so that the progress of this civilization can always be maintained
6:24 positively
6:29 think about managing this universe and are also obliged to
6:35 think about managing it in accordance with the will of Allah Subhanahu wa taala.
6:42 So from these two concepts about rights and obligations,
6:49 we will know about things that
6:54 humans must avoid. Regarding this, Allah Subhanahu wa
6:59 taala warns in several verses of the Qur'an. For example, in the Koran, Surah
7:04 Albaqarah verse 11 and verse 205. Surah Al-A'raf verses 56 and 71,
7:12 Surah Al-Qasas verse 77, Surah Ar-Rum verse 41 and
7:18 other surahs. God bless students, then
7:24 why are humans the creatures sent to be caliphs?
7:30 In connection with this discussion, we will focus on four important things.
7:36 First, because humans have the ability to continue to know the names,
7:43 properties and functions of objects in this universe.
7:48 And humans are also able to use it in their lives.
7:54 This is as confirmed by Allah in the Koran surah Albaqarah verse
7:58 21. Then secondly,
8:03 Allah has subjected the earth and sky and everything in them to humans.
8:09 As Allah affirms in the Quran Surah Al-Jasiyah verse 12 and also verse
8:15 13. Third,
8:18 humans have the potential of reason and five senses. As this is explained
8:25 in the Quran Surah Al-Mulk verse 23. Fourth, humans have the
8:32 positive power to change the pattern of life in this world. As emphasized in
8:39 the Quran Surah Ar-Ra'du verse 11. Students whom Allah has blessed,
8:46 so that potential can be developed according to Allah's will, there are
8:51 important things that humans must pay attention
8:56 to. This discussion at least four important things that must be considered.
9:01 First is faith.
9:05 This is as emphasized in the Quran Surah Annur verse 55. There Allah
9:12 affirms, "And Allah has promised those who believe among
9:17 you and do righteous deeds that He will indeed
9:23 make them rulers on this earth."
9:27 Second is knowledge as emphasized in the Quran Surah Ar-Rahman verse 33.
9:34 O jinn and mankind, if you are able to penetrate the regions of the heavens
9:42 and the earth, then penetrate. You will not be able to penetrate it
9:47 except with strength." The commentators mean by strength here
9:52 is science and technology. And this is an
9:58 important limitation as a khalifatullah.
10:03 Third, the obligation of humans is not
10:08 to decide based on lust. As in the Qur'an, Surah Asad,
10:13 verse 26. O David, indeed we
10:17 have made you a khalifa on this earth. So judge a matter between
10:24 people with justice. And do not follow your lusts because it will
10:30 lead you astray from the path of Allah Subhanahu wa taala. Fourth,
10:36 oriented towards the benefit or what we know as makruf also
10:42 avoids damage or munkar. In the last session, namely the closing session,
10:50 let us reflect and conclude that humans in the two concepts as
10:58 abdillah and in the concept as khalifatullah
11:03 in both have different implications in their duties and roles.
11:10 However, it turns out that we have discussed well that the implementation of both
11:17 must be done synergistically and harmoniously.
11:22 This means that the duties of humans as khalifa on this earth must be played in
11:29 the context of devotion to Allah Subhanahu wa taala. This is where the important reflection
11:36 that the character values that It is very important for humans to carry out
11:41 performance character, which is then displayed in the form of
11:47 behavior that is not greedy, not selfish, and moral character displayed
11:54 in the form of justice, honesty, and mutual respect for others.
12:00 Thus, these two sides of character can ultimately give birth to
12:06 other characters, namely the character of caring for the environment and caring for others.
12:13 Dear students, that concludes our discussion this time.
12:18 May God bless the knowledge of what has been discussed today. I
12:25 apologize for any errors and mistakes.
12:29 May we also pray that the joint preparatory activities of Universitas Pajajaran
12:36 in the odd semester of the 2025-2026 academic year
12:42 for undergraduate and applied undergraduate levels will always be blessed by God.
12:48 Subhanahu wa taala. Billahi fisabilil haq. Wasalamualaikum
